Does anybody know if opiates, more specifically painkillers, can cause problems with the heart? I was addicted for 2 years and have been clean for over a month, but it seems like I get winded easily now, and my heart starts pounding at times with the slightest exercise.

I have many medical issues that started at 16. I feel like I'm in the matrix the red pill or the blue pill. if I had known at 16 my life would consist of 37 medications in five shots a day I would've found a different path. My problem is someone stole my medicine I haven't had The morphine or the Percocet for a week and I am going through withdrawal. I have never gone through this before. My doctor cannot refill because of my insurance. But I have 12 days before I can have a refill.

Before I would change PMP I would have a long heart to heart discussion with your current one. Be honest and forth coming. Apparently you have been satisfied with his treatment until now. I would ask him the rational for discontinuing your break through medication, Percocet. He may have a legitimate reason. Oxycontin and Percocet are actually the same medication. One is time released and the other is not. The Percocet also contains acetaminophen (Tylenol).

I have been suffering with sudden increased heart rate and increased blood pressure at rest when doing nothing. Heart rate increases to 120 and bp 165/101. I feel dizzy when this happens and it effects my breathing. I don't know if this is connected to the chronic pain that I am in with dish condition. I am on strong pain killers tramadol 100mg x2 daily and pregabilin 200mg x2 daily. However I have crushing pain in chest, neck pain and shoulder pain and sudden increased heart rate.

By the way, take some major pain meds like percocet and muscle relaxer and a motrin 800 combined. It wont kill you trust me, my doctor put me on flexiril, percocet, and motrin 800 and insisted I take them at the same time. It will ease the pain a lot a it will help with your uterus contracting. I have read so may different sites and read everyones questions and responses with my similar problems. I am now 13 weeks pregnant and have been addicted to plls as well! I am to the point werei am trying to hide it from everyonr because they think i am trying to quite for the baby and i would sooooooooooooo love to but i cannot kick this bad habit i have formed! i take anywhere from 1-7 pills a day if i have them.

I do believe that my digestion has been sped up, and I believe the Erythromycin sped up the Percocet in my body and essentially made it as if I overdosed. I tried talking to a pharmacist about this, but she said the Percocet would have stayed in my body for a longer period of time, not run through it faster. I don't believe this is the case, though, because after an hour and a half all of my pain was back again. My heart calmed, I stopped shaking, and I was in pain.

Narcotics also would get my heart racing. I had to take Halcion, Tramadol, and antihistamines at the same time to make myself sleepy.

I have looked online and my symptoms seem to be just like the ones listed as fibromyalgia symptoms so I am going to make an appointment with my regular doctor on Monday and see if she can maybe run some tests to see what can be found and ruled out and go from there. I am so scared that I can harm my baby. I tried to stop cold turkey and had WD, cold and hot sweats and shaking. I have an app set up with my doctor in two weeks and I plan on telling her everything. I also did some research on this and was petrified with some of the results. I do not want to harm my baby, I only want what is best for him/her. I didn't see that post so I can't be much help. However, talk with you OB GYN about the percocet and your pharmacist.

Lastly, the one thing you do want to be careful with is mixing alcohol with the percocet as the acetaminophen combined with alcohol can cause severe liver problems and even liver failure if the two are mixed on a regular basis. I hope your headache gets better soon.

You can take it safely and in fact pain will cause stress and many other related problems which are harmful for the baby. I have a disease and was on much stronger narcotics for my whole pregnancy - I have a healthy happy 4 year old and 2 month old. Don't worry!

Okay so my friend has been giving me percocet this past month maybe 2 months, and I had my period at the end of may but it only lasted 2-3 days. And ever since then I haven't had my period. I was on the Norco 10/325 but had become immune to the Hydrocodone after being on it since 2003 and so they switched me to Percocet 10/325 (Oxycodone) but I just take a 1/2 pill (the equivalent of a 5/325 Percocet) every 8 hours or as needed. I cantake 1 full Percocet but I don't need it. Usually I will only take 1 a day maybe 2 when I have the BT pain. i have scoliosis/fusions, fibro and DDD/chronic pain problems...during pregnancy/at least when i found out/i did not smoke drink or use drugs/not even pot and in those days i loved my pot..that is ur decision but i just lost the desire...talk to ur doctor but it is ur decision...there is an obgyn nurse that can help on here...gtm can hook u up...i just cant help as i dont understand using while pregnant....i just could not...
