You need to avoid foods and drugs that are also blood thinners such as asprin, advil, NSAIDs, Aleve, Orudis, and other pain killers. Only take what your doctor suggests for you to take for pain and nothing else. You need to reduce Vitamin K because it interveres with the absorbtion of Coumadin. Don't eat leafy greens like broccoli, cabbage, brussel sprouts, or spinich, etc. Don't eat liver or other organ meats. Don't take vitamins or herbal supplements without telling your doctor.
They only last a few seconds. The build and peak like labor pains. Say I'm in the kitchen and I'll feel it coming on so I have time to brace myself. I'll set down whatever it is i'm holding and get ready. I have to cross my legs, bend my knees, hold on to something, clench my body tight, and try to breathe. Thank God it only lasts a few seconds. My 14 yr. old son witnessed it yesterday and tried to call 911. I kept signaling him not to. I knew it wouldn't last long. My gyno.
Some medications to not mix well with grapefruit juice and it can affect the levels of meds in your system (either higher or lower). A good site that I use quite often to check for interactions, side effects, things I should avoid while taking a med, etc. - is drugs.com (of course, use the www. first) - you can enter the name/s of your meds and pull up lots o finformation on them as to what side effects to look out for, foods or other meds to avoid, etc.
However, he said it could NOT be causing me so much pain. He checked out my arm and noticed a hard soft tissue knot, and suggested removing it through surgery and it "might" relieve my pain. So, 3 weeks ago I had the said surgery and it was removed (a hard soft tissue mass about the size of a marble). No, this was not the cyst inside my humerus bone. Anyways, I still have the pain, and it is extremely terrible at night (on a scale of 1 to 10, a 20 at night).
I have talked to the neurosurgeon who did the surgery and he shrugged his shoulders and said I have no idea and sent me back to my neurologist. He gave me a series of injections in both shoulders and the pain stopped for a couple days but then came right back. Then we tried message therapy, it helps but only for a short period. And I have tried changing my pillows on my bed and sleeping in different positions and nothing seems to help for long term. What can I do?
Is this an effective around the clock pain med? I have had percocet for breakthrough pain years ago and it worked, but never oxycontin. Any first hand expirience or knowledge about this medication anyone has to offer would be appreciated. I would also like to thank everyone for calming my anxiety over the urinalysis issue and the pain that came with it for the past two weeks.
Also, vicodin will bind you up that could be your pain! That happened to me. try prune juice, lotta water, grapefruit. Good luck!
) and we have done many things to keep her 'built up' and she has actually never needed procrit and so on, and she is in some heavy chemo! At one point she did wheatgrass juice (I grew, juiced) and her counts actually went up, but you know Dr.'s, they told her no as it could cleanse the chemo out as well as other toxins. ( tho that did make sense as it detoxifies the body).
I am also learning that this may have been a mistake, although I haven't seen anything specificially with solu-medrol and grapefruit juice, I know that I cannot take Tegretol with grapefruit juice and there are other medications that shouldn't be taken w/ grapefruit either according to several members here and others that I've spoken with. Thanks all for your comments, hopefully this will all be over soon.
I'm in THAT god awful line for ONE reason to get me through my addiction of taking 15+ Roxy/Percocet/Oxycontin A day...Not to Get HIGH?? I WANT to get clean and NEVER look at another pain killer or chase down another drug dealer EVER again, but the majority of the people in line are telling the new people "This is what you say when you get to the window or this is what you need to buy at the store it's a cocktail of over the counter meds take it with grapefruit juice combo BLAH BLAH BLAH.
At 10pm, the patient must consume 1/2 cup of olive oil, and 2/3 cup of grapefruit juice, then immediately lie down, and if the patient is having problems sleeping, then they must also take 4 capsules of the amino acid L-Ornithine to help with insomnia. Upon waking, the patient must take another dose of epsom salts with water, and then retired back to bed. Two hours later, they must consume the last dose of the epsom salt mixture and this finishes the procedure.
Good Evening Tramadol Warriors! Welcome. Please come on in. You are most welcome to snuggle in and make yourself cozy & comfortable. It can be a rough ride. But better with friends. All are welcome!
I've got arthritis in my hips and can honestly say that narcotics don't help much with bone pain. Naproxen (Aleve) works pretty well at a prescription dose. Ask your doctor about Aleve or any other prescription anti-inflammatories. Cox-II inhibitors like Celebrex are another option, but after all the bad press they received a few years ago your doctor may not even want to entertain them. Worth a discussion anyway.
I just tried drinking some grapefruit juice and threw that up immediately. I haven't been able to keep anything down since yesterday...
Do not pass go. Do not collect two hundred dollars. To reduce your doeage take it with grapefruit juice, which extends the half-life and enables the same effect with 1/2 the dose. Read some of the books by Dr. Thomas Szasz on "The Therapeutic State". Prosecuting oxycontin users is a high priority, unfortunately, and be careful always to use your own prescriptions kept in the original bottle and never take them on an airplane. It is not a good long-term pain killer.

The difference this time is I've been taking about 1/2 to 1 mg of xanax twice a day and 1mg right before bed along with nyquil and imodium. Im drinking lots of cranberry juice, forcing myself to eat, bathe, and get outside even if for a drive or short walk. exercise too. it releases the endorphins in your brain that makes you feel happiness and gives you energy. I honestly have had very little withdrawal symptoms at all this time.
I just had my HSG done last week (after 19 months of ttc). She said the tubes were clear. I was wondering if anyone here has had this done (I ovulate in the next 2 days so my fingers are crossed). I read somewhere that the chances of getting pregnant after an HSG increase significantly. Does anyone here know anything about this or even had this done and had a better success rate?
The main scar is still sore on the inside and by later in the day I get pain down the left side, still have the shelf overhanging which hoping with time and eventually some exercise will go, still quite bloated but this comes and goes seems to get worse later in the day. Hormones have been all over the place as well. I have had a first period since the op and the pain was still horrendous but assume this is everything settling down again.
I know that one of the meds that im on now. you cant drink grapefruit juice with, and thats either the Vistaril or the flexeril, I cant remember which one. But I dont drink that nasty stuff any how..
I was also given a stool softener for easier bowel movements which may not occur for a few days and I was put on a low fiber diet for the time being to make it easier. Stockup before hand with water, teas, apple juice, yogurts, and pre made meals or sandwiches are good for a few days but my doctor wanted me walking on the first day with assistance as to not fall. You need to walk but have assistance getting up and down walking prevents clots and breathing complications.
My back pain has eased up a bit but my hips are still sore and all I want is a percocet and a nap and I cant do either because of my work schedule. On a happy note, our house is finally ready to move into...we move the first of the month!! Woo hoo! I'm a home buyer! haha.
I did a liver cleanse and ordered a gold coin grass tincture to soften up any stones in there, and have been drinking gallons of organic apple juice. The pain comes and goes, but I've been on a diet for the past week to try to keep the pain away, I'm not eating red meats or fatty foods. Mostly all fruits and salads and fresh vegetable and fruit juices.
It's been almost 2 weeks since my laproscopic surgery, I have learned alot both from experiencing it and talking to ya'll here on the forum. Time to share, because just maybe somebody is about to go through the same thing and has questions or needs help. It would be great if everyone added their two cents and we will have a nice "what to expect when your expecting laproscopic surgery" list...lol 1. Don't be fooled, this is major surgery. You could be having body parts removed.
I am 41 with a strong family history of cancer. My mother had breast AND kidney cancer, and I recently lost my father to metastatic colorectal cancer. That being said, after having pain in the area of my left ovary, an ultasound found that I have "something" growing on my left ovary. A repeat ultrasound showed that it is growing, and I was giving the choice to leave it and "watch it" or have it removed. I did have a CA-125 blood test, which was "normal".
And I'm wondering if tramadol is stronger, the information I've found on this drug conflicts and I'm just wondering if you could tell me if tramadol would be stronger than the drug i'm currently using and wether it is adictive. And what type of drug is it, the only type of drug which helps my pain are narcotics nothing else does anything.
I am taking fiber once a day ( citrucell) and do feel much better. I go back to my surgeon, July 15th and will discuss. Also, I am wondering if prune juice would be good as I do not want to take laxatives, if not necessary.
