Percocet and fever

Common Questions and Answers about Percocet and fever

percocet

On any given day i was taking 3 or 4 of them... Today i have the chills, I feel like I have a fever, jittery, and lots of anxiety.... How long does this usually last and is there ANYTHING at all to help even feel a little better???
I have been on Prednisone for about 6 years and in the last few months have gotten off. I am thrilled and would like to be off percocet. I dont know if my symptoms are from the percocet use itself at this point. I have not taken any since Sunday night and it is now Friday morning. I have had an unusally upsetting week with other issues - or maybe it is related. Anyway, when can I expext to be clear of the percocet?
I am newly pregnant again, and plan on continuing taking the percocet. It's the only think that works, and like you, I only take them when needed, which is usually a few times a week, up to 60 mg/day on those days. My problem is the doctors give me scripts of just 20 pills, so they don't last very long, and I have to drive an HOUR back to the Dr to get more. PITA. But it's the only thing that works, and they know it.
It also says not to take with a fever, which I feel like I have and I get the sweats. I have no memory, feel like Im loosing it!
I am taking the valium I have, and fever medication thats not over the counter to help with the hot/old sweats. Today is going to be a long day but amazingly the combination that I am taking is helping. Thank you for all the support.
I started taking them one day all because i had a bad migraine and a friend had percocet and offerered me one, since then i became totally addicted. I would go to my Dr. and fake pain just so i could get some. He finally caught on to me and took me off them, so since then i began to shop around for Drs. To try to get some. I have been very very successful up until about a week ago. I can't get no more and this is all i can think about now. I feel like i am losing my mind. It has been 6 days...
I had rotator cuff surgery 5 weeks ago. In first week, took 8 5mg-325 percocet for surgery pain. After that, took two pills 2-3 times a day for about 3 weeks. for past two weeks, have taken 2 pills once or twice a day. Am now taking 2 pills once a day, but have severe flu -- sweating, fever, runny nose, weak. Can this be withdrawal? Can I get addicted in just 5 weeks, with the last few weeks taking only 2-6 pills a day?
I'm so exhasted today, I only slept a few hours again last night as Sunday too, nothing helped my RLS, i don't have the sweats this time around, and my energy is not as low as last time I went through this... but I'm not sleeping and I have the tremors and RLS..... I'm still feeling pain in my kidney area.... trying hot baths, ice packs, heating pads, nothing is helping. It would be so easy to make this all go away.......... but I won't go there, I won't make that call.....
I agree it would have to an amount substantial enough to be considered "abusing" the drug. I took percocet and vicodin during a couple of my pregnancies but it truly was on an as-need basis and my babies never had any issues!
I stopped all the other meds on my own. I remain only on the Fentanyl patch and percocet, but am wanting to get off this stuff. I have been on 100 mcgs of Fentanyl every 48 hrs for over 3 years now. I noticed 3 months ago that the 100mcg patch became ineffective after 24 hours but did not want to increase it just to avoid withdrawal. I have been experiencing withdrawls now after the first 24 hours for about 3 months.
I HAVE HEPATITIS C, TOOK TREATMENT and WAS A COMPLETE RESPONDER, IN REMISSION for 6 YEARS. I INJURED BOTH LEGS and HAVE BEEN ON percocet 10, XANAX and ALSO BP MEDS. I WANT OFF NOW! I HAVE TEENAGED BOYS WHO NEED ME NOW. I NEED and WANT MY LIFE BACK. PLEASE HELP ME! HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE and HOW BAD WILL I FEEL TO GO COLD TURKEY OFF percocet? I HAVE BEEN ON IT for APPROX 2 YEARS. WHAT ABOUT THE XANAX? I AM SO SORRY TO READ EVERYONE'S STORIES...
I go to a pain clinc where they put me on Neurontin which makes me too tired to work and tried Bio feedback which didn't work for me. The percocet helps the pain but I feel I am addicted. Some days I feel like I need something really bad and I do not know what it is and then I realize after I take the percocet I feel better. Sometimes I have that needing feeling during the day and want to take the medicine just to make it fo away but know I have to work.
About 5wks before op Docs started him on Vicodin,no help, went to Darvocet,no help..finally surgery, percocet and Dilaudid THAT worked. Then home with percocet only. Worked for a few days..back to ER Doc there gave Dilaudid Pills.Has had good recovery untill now, he has stopped percocet cut down on Dilaudid....and is quite sick ,nauseated, weak,no appetite, loose stool.....are these withdrawal signs, is it to soon to stop meds?
Well, my mouth still feels raw, and am getting more little blisters, and I think it may be a reaction from the percocet. Bob, I know you are gonna make it, and my heart will be with you. I know it won't be an easy thing to do, but you will make it because you want to. I am trying to find a site on aol, that use to be here, ask a dr or something like that. Do you know what I'm referring to? Have a great holiday yourself, if I don't hear from you before.
I was dx with Crohns disease in Feb of 2007, I was put on all sorts of drugs including Fentnyl patch (morphine) luckily I was able to wean off of those, but for pain they have me on percocet and Darvocet. In August of Last year I was told I didn't have crohns and that it was more likely that i had a bacterial infection that was treated incorrectly. Either way I have been taking percocet for over a year now for pain.
My boyfriend has always had arthitis and was taking vicodins until a friend of his suggested that he take a percocet instead, that it would help him better and at first it seemed to be ok but then he started having bad anxiety and became severely depressed as well as loss of interest in me and other aspects of his life. We started having horrible fighting like crazy which put me back into my depression (I've been suffering from for over ten years on and off) and fighting has made it worse.
Diarrhea that feels like lava. Insomnia yet constantly exhausted, goosebumbs, fever, body aches and cramps, constantly sweating and just downright depressed 24/7. The anxiety and mental aspect is what really kills me. I have bought sam-e to possibly aid with mood stabilization and just want to know if there are any good over the counter things that can aid with withdrawal? also, how long will this realistically last ?
Any pills period. I had an old prescription of percocet and I've been taking it. About 5-15mg a day for about a month. I of course have done a ton of research on it and know the risks which is why I took so little and am out anyways. I work 9 hours a day with children and I have to sit in a rocking chair many times because my legs hurt so bad. I have read on these sites to tell your doctor in case baby withdraws or somethng happens.
I had hernia surgery and was prescribed percocet 10mg.. It been 2 months and have stopped them but feeling really depressed and anxious. How long will this take to subside??? I usually half the 10mg and take half at a time. at most take 5 halfs a day..???
Just under 3 years ago, I was in a terrible car accident that left me couch ridden for 3 months w/ internal injuries and severe back issues. I was prescribed percocet among many other meds. The percocet was one that sticked. I took them at first for the pain, but all the while, it just took the hurt away from the thought of almost dying in the car crash then to numbing all of life's downfalls. I liked how they made me feel.
However just yesterday morning I woke up to abdominal discomfort, and once again had the same extremely liquid diareah, and I did have vomitting though after vomitting three times in a row I didn't vomit again, though the diareah continued until my system was empty, I wasn't as cold as last time, though still cold I stayed in bed again all day, and had a slight headache, this time even though I only vomited int he beginning, I have felt so nauseated all day, and even since I got up and managed
Hi there and cogratulations on your preganancy. Let me start by saying that 5mgs of morphine twice a day was seriously inadequate to cover the 50-60 mgs of oxycodone you have become dependant upon. So, i have no doubts that what you experienced was indeed withdrawals. Most doctors should be able to calculate these conversion doses accurately but i am afraid your doctor had been over cautious and seriously underdosed you.
I too was injured and prescribed by my doc for pain before surgery and then after. I was on percocets and they are the DEVIL!!! I was honest with my doc and told him all my systems but to be honest he didn't really seem to care and he thought i was just being ridiculous and telling me im not addicted. But he did put me on a taper, it did work, and it was not easy. I did try cold turkey and that was brutal. 2 weeks is not that far away, what ever you do DO NOT GET THAT SCRIPT!!!!!!
I've had 3 back surgeries and have been taking percocet 10's for about 5 years now. I hate them. They have ruined ME, and my life and I want to throw my last few away but I'm so afraid of the withdrawals. Can anyone give me some idea of how long the withdrawals are for percocet 10's and how long the severity lasts? Also, I just got a really cool implant, its a Neurostimulator by Advanced Bionics and it has reduces my pain with electricity!
When I'm tired enough to fall asleep quickly the pain wakes me up in about an hour and I must get up and walk around. My doctor prescibed percocet 512. What I do is break them in half and take a half about 1/2 hour before lying down. There is a pleasant feeling, the pain is negligible, I fall asleep and am able to sleep for 5 - 6 hours. I'd like to know if taking 1/2 of a percocet 512 on a daily basis can cause addiction.
husband had knee replacement on 2/14/11, now has blisters oozing blood and junk from them, he's running low grade fever, 99-101.7 dr. giving percocet w/tylenol to keep fever down. should they be checking for cellulitis?? very concerned wife and the drs & nurses are playing it very low keyed, have not said what it is other than some people get these after knee replacement. thanks also, husband has hep c, not sure what stage.
Pain meds do have fever reducing qualities as well....to check for any underlying infections have her call her doc and get checked out!!
for anyone interested in the low down on Acetaminophen and Your Liver. http://hcvadvocate.org/hepatitis/factsheets_pdf/Acetominophen.
I am becoming somewhat frustrated with the way a lot of my colleagues practice medicine. Disenchanted, angry would be the other words that could be used. We all get ostensibly that same training and all of us are supposedly in it to help our patients. So, how come have I been getting so many letters lately on my addiction forum from desperate people unable to quit taking the tramadol pills that their own kind doctors have so freely prescribed for them?
CAROL, YOUR ON METHADONE, MAY I ASK WHAT DOSAGE and WHEN YOU FIRST STARTED IT DID YOU HAVE ANY ADVERSE EFFECTS FROM IT.
