No narcotic pain med is good for a fetus and all narcotic pain meds will cause the baby to be born dependent to opiates and cause them to go through withdrawal when born. I'm not trying to be mean or harsh just telling you the gods honest truth. I would def ask the doctor how he figures Percocet is safe for the fetus but oxycodone isn't being they both contain the exact same narcotic pain med.
A friend of mine found out that she is pregnant a few weeks ago, she is 10-11 weeks and is convinced that using percocet does not effect the fetus until her last trimester. She uses anywhere from 5-10 percocet '10s' daily..sometimes more. If anyone has any information it would be greatly appreciated!
you have to do what is safest for that baby and quitting cold turkey is not safe for the fetus the fetus suffers way more than you do..so dont hurt that baby more than you have to and do it the safe way....i am not a doctor just telling you from experience...many people go their whole pregnancys taking pain meds..it all depends on if the benefits outweigh the risks....and taking as prescribed safely...and keep in mind if you are still using when the baby is born ..
to stop the sciatica - didnt work and he also at that time, knowing i was pregnant, prescribed me percocet (same dose). After I was 1/2 way threw the presc. I called and asked what i was suppose to do now? They said to go to physical therapy and to me it seemed like they didnt want anything to do with me now b/c im pregnant..... AAAHHHH.. Before I became pregnant I was receiving care from a pain management Dr. From a back injury I sustained from a car accident. I would do back injections combined with being prescribed percocet as part of my treatment. Once I became pregnant, I told my pain management Dr & we both agreed to discontinue treatment during my pregnancy. Everything was fine until about 34 weeks pregnant, when I slipped & fell down about 8 stairs at work.

5mg limit 6 a day, nuerontin 600mg tid, and esgic plus 50-500-40mg however my insurance stopped covering the percocet 7.5mg and so they had to prescribe me the 5/325! I just found out I was pregnant at 10 weeks 3 days my obgyn said that th percocet was fine for me to continue howeveri would have to disconinue the other medications. My problem is tht the 5mg percocet was already not helping enough with my pain and now stopping the other medications its really not enough!

I am 18 weeks pregnant with my second child and wanting desperately to get off pain killers. I am trying to go cold turkey. I have done it before but not while pregnant. I wasn't taking too many pills. About 30 to 40mg of percocet a day. Any advice on what I am in store for? Am I putting my baby at risk?

I have only done it about five times. I am not addicted and do not have any withdrawals but I was wondering if my baby will be okay and if when I give birth the opiate will show up in his fetus or be in his system. I am stopping as of now and don't ever plan on being stupid again.
I believe meth's a class c so its unknown if theres any harm to the fetus. My husband takes antidepressants & percocet which are class c& my Dr told me to use protection. I'm not sure how percocet & Meth differ. Check w/ your Dr to be on the safe side.

She has an appt at the Clinic in 5 days and was wondering if it's safe for her to take Subutex to help her wean off these drug?I know that it's harmful to her and the baby for her just to stop cold turkey. I have been using Subutex for 2 months since I found out I was pregnant (now 4 months). I went to detox and was referred to a OB here in KY who could prescribe Subutex. I went today for my weekly appointment and was told my drug screen from last week came back positive for Amphetamines! I have NEVER used amphetamines, Percocet was my drug of choice. I am also taking wellbutrin, robitussin, vicks inhaler, and vistaril.

u have to act and act fast tell your mibwife or doc my girlfriend is 4months pregnant and when i got her pregnant i was using perk 10 8-10 a day we told our midwife and everything is okay this past tuesday she got all out blood work back and we had the ultrasound that tests for defects with the fetus and are midwife said we have a very healthy baby and neither of us have any diesease or problems i was so scared cause i thout my using when i got her pregnant would have some affect on the baby but

I found the pills in his bag and I confronted him. He admitted the problem (he told me he also took a few Xanax), stopped cold turkey, went through a bad withdrawal phase and is now seeking treatment with a psychologist. I have no doubt that he'll be a great father and we'll get through this.

I only started taking percocet yesterday, after suffering for 4 days with severe pain. I had tried everything, NSAIDS, hot wet compresses, I went for massages 4 days in a row! I'm going to have to go back and get an MRI, but in the meantime, I need to take the percocets. I just don't know if I should continue taking the subs while I am on the percocet. I want off the subs really bad, but I only got 15 percs and I don't know how long it will take me to get another Dr appt.
If you decide to get pregnant now and talk to your dr and he decides the benefits of taking your medication outweighs the risks to the baby, there are still risks. Percocet is a pregnancy class C drug, according to the FDA that means either there have not been adequate studies on humans but it does appear to cause harm in animal fetus' or it hasn't been studied in humans or animals, so it is unknown if it will cause harm to an unborn baby.
