What did the doctor say about the bruising and possible causes? I just had an endoscopy and colonoscopy on Thursday, February 26. The doctor thought I had crohn's disease, but then said I didn't after he performed the procedure. I was told I have a thickening of the colon so they are still trying to figure out. I also have facial neuralgia - glossopharyngial, and I have unexplained bruising. My GP did a platelet count , as I do have a mild thrombocytopenia sometimes, but he said that the platelet count is borderline abnormal, and not low enough to justify the bruising. I just had my sixth infusion and I've been noticing for the last couple of months that I'm bruising really easily. A hematoma and bruising are much the same ..... the bruising is due to bleeding beneath the skin and a hematoma is that also. I only started taking percocet yesterday, after suffering for 4 days with severe pain. I had tried everything, NSAIDS, hot wet compresses, I went for massages 4 days in a row! I have RA and have been diagnosed 1 year ago. Apparently I'm a severe case. It just keeps progressing. I've been on Plaquenil, Methotrexate for 8 months now. I'm also an afib sufferer and have been on coumadin for 6 years and haven't experienced any excessive bleeding or bruising with it. I was pleasantly surprised with how little it changed my life. The things to consider here is why is she bruising? Are they drinking and getting rowdy? Is she falling, or are the bruises showing up with the slightest bump? If she truly has liver problems, I would be very concerned about her drinking and potential drug abuse. I am currently recovering from back surgery and am taking 2 Percocet 10mg every 8 hours per the directions. I ran out today and tomorrow is a holiday so I won't be able to get a script until Tuesday. I am not good at keeping track b/c the scripts are only for 15 days while most are for a month, but anyway. I have some 5mg vicodin - can I take those to get me through until I can fill the script for the Percocet? If so, how much should I take?

I am also prescribed percocet and I get 150 pills a month and I take it in addition to extended release morphine for chronic back pain. On average, I take 25 mg of percocet daily and up to 30 mg a day along with 60 mg of morphine per day. I have never had a morning after headache from the percocet. The maximum dose of acetaminophen that can be taken daily is 4,000 mg. So with 325 mg in each pill, you took well under the maximum dose.

Joyce - dont worry I have taken Percocet and the like for many years - (I have slipped discs in my neck) I know how it makes me feel - very tired. So I wont get addicted. Thanks for your concern though.
