Avatar n tn Oxycodone is excreted in breast milk in low concentrations, and there have been rare reports of somnolence and lethargy in babies of nursing mothers taking an oxycodone/acetaminophen product. Acetaminophen is also excreted in breast milk in low concentrations. In light of that information, I think I would stop taking them immediately and talk to your OB doctor. A good website that tells you what medicines are safe during pregnancy is: http://www.safefetus.com/index.

Avatar f tn Then weigh the pros and cons and make an educated decision. And you can always fill the Rx and just hold on to it in case regular Tylenol doesn't help.
8778737 tn?1413827423 Breast feeding can be so painful when we start out, I breast fed my son exclusively for until he grew out of it... The pain wont last forever and it is well worth it. Hang in there <3 There are nice gel nipple pads that I loved but they are expensive from the mercy mall, also la leches league sells similar pads along with lanolin (like vasaline) to help with pain.
Avatar f tn While I was in hospital I was taking percocet and Motrin for pain and I was sent home with oxycodone and ibuprofen. I am strictly breastfeeding. While in the hospital only my colostrum was coming out.. now my milk has come in and I'm thinking that the pain meds are in my milk bc every time my baby eats he is knocked out cold after only eating for a few minutes, nothing wakes him except a diaper change.. he wakes up to eat again and then will go right back to sleep.
Avatar f tn Acetaminophen and oxycodone may pass into breast milk and could harm a nursing baby. Do not use Percocet without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.
Avatar f tn In another 2-3 hours another 1/2 of the dose remaining is eliminated and so on and so forth. So just based on the half life of Vicodin and Percocet, the medicine can remain in your system for 12-24 hours. The larger the dose you take, the longer it takes your body to fully excrete the medication.

Avatar f tn What is the difference between milk thristle and blessed milk? And are they both safe to take while breastfeeding?
Avatar f tn dont remember where i heard that advice but it does help...if u cant drink milk..eat something and calm down u will be fine by morning....learn from this also..dont do it again.....
Avatar f tn In other words, the milk before having something to drink is normal milk. You would not pump and dump that milk, it's fine. You pump and dump if the milk has alcohol in it, which only happens after drinking the alcohol. Not saying you should be drinking, I had the same experience as specialmom when breastfeeding -- realizing I could not be off my mark at all when taking care of an infant. But that would be the way to do it if you did have something to drink.
Avatar f tn I was told not to pump and dump, its better to wait it out because the alcohol content in breast milk will be the same as in your blood, as youre blood alcohol levels decrease so will the amount in the breast milk and pumping and dumping will just be a waste. My dr told me that its better to just wait it out and to pump a little every now and then and use these test strips from walmart.
2075737 tn?1379447682 I am planning on breast feeding I just have not decided if I am going to pump all the time and use the milk in a bottle or do both breast and bottle(with breast milk) I work at a hotel and sometimes we work 9 10 hours at a time. But I am going to make it work.
Avatar f tn Has anyone done both at the same time?? Whether it's been formula and breast feeding or formula and bottle fed breast milk?? What's your experience been? How was baby with two types? What type of formula dos you use? Tell me everything !
Avatar m tn dear, recently i went to a massage parlor and the lady massager gave me a massage using her breast. She was lactating too. am not sure whether breast milk has entered by urethra and will cause HIV/AIDS. Not only that she sucked my nipples too. Dont know whether she is infected with HIV/AIDS. Can i continue sex relation with my wife. When should i go for a test, in case if required.
5793136 tn?1375294504 From what I've read things like alcohol and nicotine and medicine etc all pass through breast milk.. do you'd probably want to either not smoke or formula feed. But I'd definitely do some research or ask your doctor. I was unable to breast feed my son six years ago so I'm just going off things I have read since then.
Avatar f tn I wanna just breast feed because supplementing wth formula causes ur breast milk supply to run low and the baby might even start rejecting the bbreast. It also could really start upseting their tummy. If u want whats best, pump pump pump.
Avatar f tn HCV is transmitted by infected blood, not by human breast milk. There are no current data to suggest that HCV is transmitted by human breast milk. http://www.cdc.gov/breastfeeding/disease/hepatitis.
Avatar f tn The vast majority are benign breast tumor that may appear at any age,but they are more common in women in their twenties and thirties. These benign lumps, are not related to breast cancer and are known to increase in size and tenderness in relation to the menstrual cycles due to hormonal changes. In many cases fibroadenomas could go away on their own within a few years. The development of these tumors is probably related to reproductive hormones.
Avatar f tn When will you start to get milk in your breast? I am 31 weeks and have yet to get mine, it makes me nervous cause I plan on breast feeding.
9442948 tn?1406816451 m at work and slowly weening him off bottle and just breast milk twice a day to once a day. Talk to your doctor about it too, because mine agreed this was a good ice for our family.
Avatar n tn From your description, you have stopped breast-feeding for about 6 months now and your body may have stopped producing breast milk. Suggest keeping her on formula and start her on baby food for additional nutrition. She is 7 months old and can start on baby food vegetables, meat and fruit.
Avatar f tn Supplementing when you go back to work is a good option too. Still pump as much as possible and offer breast milk when you have it. Anyway my point was actually that daycare will work with you. Most of us encourage it because we know it's the best choice for your baby.
4332997 tn?1358728615 The way I switched my son from breast milk to formula was I began mixing my breast milk with formula. For example, 1oz formula to 4oz breast milk to start off. Then slowly went increasing the amount of formula each week.
5612058 tn?1373576034 Enough wet and poopy diapers and if the baby is thriving. Breastfeeding is a supply and demand thing so just let baby eat and you will produce enough. Make sure you drink water and stay hydrated.
Avatar f tn its what saved me when I breastfed my daughter-- she had trouble latching right on without it and it made the transition from breast to bottle and back and forth easy... I had that same problem first time around and since I thought my left was always engorged I fed her predominantly out of the left one... I nearly lost my supply in the right one and I dried up completely after 4 months (and I had to supplement after 1.5 months because I didn't produce enough)... one thing...
