can i take 2 advils and half a percocet for dental pain?
I was given vicodin and told I could alternate that with Advil. I took the vicodin only before bed and did ok with just the advil during the day. I would say just try the advil, it that doesn't cut it for you then the next time that you can take some meds take the percocet. By the third day I barely needed the advil anymore. I hope it starts to feel better for you soon! Take care and keep us posted.
I have been on all sorts of meds in the past, including vicodin and percocet. My orthopedic Dr. told me before I could mix tylenol with advil and it would equal a pain pill without the narcotic effect. I don't remember how many of each to take and how many hours apart to take each of them. Is this safe? I would rather take these then go back on pain meds! Thanks!

Thank you, Mike! I actually went in today to have him check it. Sure enough, I had a dry socket. Sunday is when I really, really started having pain. He used some clove oil packing today that brought some much needed relief. That clove oil is now my new best friend. It brings better relief than advil or percocet. I haven't taken a Percocet today but used Advil and seem to be doing 100% better. Thank you for your response! Much appreciated!
My question relates to liver damage related to the use/abuse of pain medication. By pain medication I mean OTC(Tylenol/Advil) and of course, Vicodin and Percocet. The short version is: For the last 10 months I have struggled with lower back pain. I am 24 years old, 6'5'', 220lbs and generally healthy/athletic build. I started taking a lot of Tylenol(4g a day, but never more), sometimes mixed with Advil to curb my back pain. I then moved on to the doctor and go prescribed Vicodin.
Give them to someone else to hold on too and give you your doses and only take it until you can change over to Advil witch may be sooner then you think then have who ever has been holding your pills get rid of the others .I had to do this when I had major surgery a year and a half ago by day 3 or 4 I was able to change over to Advil and a heating pad then first few days were a little uncomfortable but doable.just take the most precautions you can .
s they are high in potassium and should help with the muscle pain. Try some Advil for the headaches. Hang in there and keep going. Get this over with, you have your whole life ahead of you. Keep reading and posting on this forum. You will need support because of cravings and the chance of relapse. Stay strong.
I would recommend benadryl for sleep (or tylenol PM), immodium for the stomach issues and advil for the aches. Hot showers or baths are SUPER helpful and the only place I felt remotely ok during withdrawal. Take as many as you can for as long as you can. You really don't have that much further to go! Recovery and the mental side of this is a lifelong thing. Once the physical goes away we have the mental to deal with. Have you thought about any recovery plan?? Therapy, meetings, etc??
The hospital staff said I neede to stop all blood thinnig drugs (aspirin, fish oil, advil, etc) but did not say anything about pain mends (Oxycontin 4mg 2x day and Norco for the breakthrough pain (10 - 50 mg per day depending) Can I take the pain meds right up to the surgery?
I'm trying to stay away from percocet my Dentist gave me for Dry Socket but I'm in pain. I've been taking Advil but that's just not working. I got online to keep my mind busy and away from pain pills. Any comment or toughts on how to deal with this without having to turn to pain meds would be great. Thank you....
( I have been taking 5/325 Vicodins for 9 months, anywhere from 5-8 a day. Today I took 1 and a half and I hall and I have 3 and a half left. I thought one a day but to be honest taking one and a half today did absolutely nothing for me as far as not withdrawling. I'm a wreck, scared what tomorrow will bring.... Maybe we can lean on each other?
In the hospital they gave me pain meds and then when i got home i took one percocet and then one again before bed. I get through the whole day today on ibuprofen but I am going to take another percocet before i go to bed because the pain at night is much worse. Tomorrow I am having my mom throw the rest of the away. My question is, I was finally starting to feel beter from bein off the subs. Is this going to set me off into w/ds again.
I am also prescribed percocet and I get 150 pills a month and I take it in addition to extended release morphine for chronic back pain. On average, I take 25 mg of percocet daily and up to 30 mg a day along with 60 mg of morphine per day. I have never had a morning after headache from the percocet.
The maximum dose of acetaminophen that can be taken daily is 4,000 mg. So with 325 mg in each pill, you took well under the maximum dose.
gatorades, green tea ( theanine on it, will help your mood and to relax), tonic water ( it has quinine and it will help you with RLS )

maybe some natural stuff to help you with sleep like melatonin and valerian root ( good for anxiety too and it helped me with the stomach cramps , imo).
lots of hot baths ( with epsom salts if you have them ...
Tylenol is as safe as it gets.....i took Benadryl drowsy and it put me to sleep and i woke up feeling great! benadryl is safe too!
ve been taking Bayer Headache, Advil, Motrin, Excedrin, and a couple other store brand non-asprin type pills and NOTHING has given me any relief whatsoever. They gave me a percocet, which also did nothing for me.... I started crying and practically demanded a CAT scan when he tried to brush it off as a normal headache and send me home..
I continue to have severe pain that percocet does not even take away and my face continues to swell more. Swelling is so bad I can hardly smile. I am taking clindamiacin, advil, and pain medication. Any adivce would be greatly appreciated. I really do not want to miss our trip we have planned for months, but I also do not want to effect my health. Thank you!
It all started when i got a tooth pulled. I was on the percocet, while on them i still had to go to work and it just made the day fly by. It made me concentrate more..It made everything better....until now.
I am so consumed with this ****** addiction and im ready to kick this habit.It has effected myself,my family,my financial security and my relationship...I spend about $80 a day 7 days a week. You do the math..Its terrible.
