Soon after removing the nail tips, I started noticing my nails on my thumbs started to change colors. I went to the dermatologist and they prescribed Penlac to treat the nail fungus. After using Penlac for a while I noticed that it was not working for me. After that, I went back to the dermatologist and they did a culture and they said it was a fungus.
I might be in the wrong forum as well but I was prescribed lamisil after a positive test for Onychomycosis on my toenails. I was told to take one tablet a day for 3 months. My doctor did check my liver before starting and he called to say everything was normal and to go forth with the treatment.
I've heard so many bad things from hair loss, death, loss of taste and I'm so scared.
Prior the the potential exposure, I was prescribed a topical nail fungus medication (ClearNails Pro) that is fat soluble and claims to penetrate to the nail bed. This medication contains a drug called ciclopirox which was recently discovered to kill hiv infected cells in vitro. The percentage of ciclopirox is 6 percent.
1. Since my fungal medication is fat soluble and contains ciclopirox, will it enter the blood stream in enough concentration to affect the accuracy of an hiv antibody test?
I was okay trying to control(possibly) the fungus on my toes and my thumb and index fingernails. Now it needs like what my wife is having(black dot on her thumb) now resembles what I had once upon a time. I don't want her to fight with fungus.
I did see a dermatolgist yesterday and she said my toes are likely fungus-related but she had I didn't have enough nail for samples. Prescribed me Penlac(sp?) and asked me to go back when the toenails grow out...

What other symptoms are present? I understand your concern regarding this toe nail lesion. This could be due to infection, particularly fungal in nature, as well as nail trauma. I am 43 years old and high school teacher, about 14 years, during a summer job I was spraying a white pigmented sanding lacquer and a white finish coat with lacquer retarder. t want to thin it out so much that you hit the nail bed. (blood and OUCH) Reducing the nail thickness will enable the cream/lotion/or paint on lacquer to saturate the nail better. This is not something I would advise on fingernails in fact its not something I'd advise at all under normal circumstances.
I had a vitrectomy for floaters recently and found that I have lacquer cracks through macula in my eye due to myopic degeneration during my 1 month check-up with no CNV, no bleeding etc. Surgeon told me that I am at risk of CNV and asked me to watch for any signs . I still have wavy vision from my surgery and slowly recovering.

Sounds like she had a lacquer crack with a resulting CNV and then Avastin injections to stop the bleeding. Depending on several factors, the damage to the retina may or may not be permanent. However I would suggest you get a second opinion as you seem a little in the dark here and it is not obvious from your post exactly what is going on here.
I was recently diagnosed with myopic degeneration in my right eye, and told that I have a lacquer crack in that eye. I am 40 years old, and as a practicing attorney, am obviously concerned that my condition will either worsen in my right eye, or also develop in my left eye, thus rendering me essentially disabled. Its constantly waking him up in the middle of the night because he shoulder will start hurting and his hand go numb. He was saying that a friend of his had the same problems but it was from lacquer thinner poisoning. Im just wondering if maybe there is another problem or not.His left arm is just fine. I was diagnosed with Mayopic D with Lacquer crack one week ago because I had bleeding in my eye causing blurry and wavy center vision. Doctor put injection into my eye and I have follow-up in 4 weeks.
The bleeding happened 9 days ago and got injection 5 days later. But so far, I don’t see any improvement. I just wonder normally how soon it can start recovery. I guess this also case by case but any answer or hint would be very helpful. I am 40 years old for reference.

I have had a rash on my chin (see picture) for about 5 months now. It started out on the right side of my chin. It would come and go randomly without treatment. About a year ago I had some seborrheic dermatitis around my nose and the derm prescribed me Ertaczo (an anti-fungal). That cleared up the rash right away.
