pegasys

543518 tn?1245322027 ve done both the PegIntron RediPen and the Pegasys prefilled syringe (currently doing the Pegasys) The PegIntron RediPen looks like some space aged plastic gizmo whereas the Pegasys prefilled syringe looks like your average everyday "shot". With the RediPen you actually turn a dial at the bottom to adjust your dose and the syringe you follow the measurement markings on the syringe. The needle on the RediPen seems to be just slightly shorter.
Avatar f tn s the Schering Corporation pegintron redipen. I am not sure Roche uses a redipen. I think they use pre-filled syringes for pegasys. different interferons: https://www.oncologysupply.com/Documents/News_And_Updates/Recalls/100110%20Schering%20PegIntron%20Recall%20Letter.
Avatar m tn Has anyone ever had a problem with the redipen not working properly.... Had trouble turning the amount of peginterferon button and when I finally turn it I took the cap off and the liguid shot out of the pen, dont no how much I lost so I didnt do it,no reserve, might have to wait 2 days before I get my next batch, should I do it on wed, then again on Monday ,will it matter so far apart and then so close together, now I am really stressed out??????
Avatar f tn thanks all... viraferonpeg is like a big pen sort of.. its got powder and solution in it..
Avatar m tn Pegasys or PegIntron Redipen? If the Redipen the instructions anticipate a few dribbles and that it should not be a concern. Also, if Redipen I never figured out how to 'draw back' it was a one-way trip all the way. If pegasys prefilled, make sure the needle is pushed on firmly. From memory, I think that both suggest that the syringe stays in the target for a few more seconds after the plunger is full depressed. You might re-read the directions for the one you use.
Avatar f tn Ladyfox seems to be on the Pegasys prefilled which is totally different then the pegIntron redipen.
422881 tn?1257603579 "180" is the standard dosage for Pegasys. You state you're on "Peg Intron" which is made by a different manufacturer and dosed differently by weight. The most common forumulations of Peg Intron need to be refrigerated and I therefore assume so does yours since it was shipped in a styrofoam container. The ribavirin can be stored at room temperature. Like in your case, my ribavirin was also shipped in the styrofoam along with the peg.
154668 tn?1290115995 I travelled overseas a few times on tx and used the cold packs that came with the redipen shipment. I froze them and placed them in a cold bag, then put the redipen and my procrit in a padded bag and placed it in the cold bag. That way the meds were not in direct contact with the frozen cold packs. They stay cold for about 12 hours that way. Also, ask the flight crew to store them cold in-flight if you are worried. Good luck.
Avatar n tn I used the redipen for the first 4 weeks of tx (now in week 9 and have been changed to Pegasys) I weighed around 200 lbs at start of tx and dialed in the highest number on the dosing button....I think it was .
Avatar f tn I'm using Pegasys injections. My most recent box of shots are a bit different that all the previous shots I've used. I just took shot No. 26 last night. The difference is the needle, cap and needle guard. The needle guard that you push over the used needle used to be orange and now it's green and it's shaped a bit different. I've used two shots from this new batch and the needle caps are very, very, VERY hard to get off.
Avatar m tn This second time I had the redipen for Pegintron, I would have preferred the Pegasys as I had hear the Pegintron was harder though I made it through the Pegintron took up a lot more space in my fridge.
Avatar m tn like i said before...there seemed like more that usual dribble from the needle tip when i attache it to the redipen...im thinking the pen maybe malfunctoned ...my question is, should i do the extra shot i have a back up... ,just to make sure im getting fridays shot...has this happened to anyone, and i wonder if i do a double shot will it hurt me in anyway.....
Avatar f tn Yes I use the redipen and insurance has to approve 7 pens a week. You snap the redipen together to mix the solution with the interferon before you inject it. I'm on Pegintron. Thanks for your well wishes.
Avatar f tn I've done treatment a couple of times before and know how horrible it can be - that's why I was so freaked out about not feeling crummy. I will have to change my shots from Pegasys to the peginterferon alpa 2-b RediPen this Friday. I am not looking forward to it. I was sick as a dog on that stuff. I am so worried that my honeymoon period is just a fleeting memory! I'm going to enjoy these last four days before I start my job at school again and begin the demon shots. BUT!
3246768 tn?1346936807 I start Triple Therapy tomorrow and I am absoluteky TERRIFIED!!! Im only 26 but have an infant and 4 year old and while medicaid is gonna pay for my meds I figure I better jump on it! Im taking the following medicines: Ribavirin 200mg tablet, INCIVEK 375mg tablet, & Pegintron Redipen 120mcg My nurse said first few shots would be rough but I read this not to be true, that they get worse and worse the further u go along!!
280736 tn?1294198374 I contacted Be in Charge nurses last night and they did mention I should get new 80 redipen. My redipen is pink and 120. I had a refill on hold and ask dr yesterday should I get new prescription. She said no just dial to 80. So I confirmed the shipment for another months supply. Not sure what to do. I guess we can get it as close to 80 as we can. I want to slow down all of these side effects some and stop depleting all of my Immunity system. Thank you again.
1689583 tn?1387752394 It depends on how it’s ordered and which brand you’re prescribed. Pegasys generally comes in pre-mixed vials, four (one month’s worth) per box. All you have to do is press the needle on the end of the syringe barrel and you’re ready to go. Pegintron can be ordered both in vial form as well as their ‘ReadyPen’. The vial form requires that the patient mix a powdered active ingredient with a sterile ‘diluent. It’s really not difficult, and your doctor’s office will demonstrate for you.
4333925 tn?1359102442 I would do what hrsepwrguy said and just use another one. Are you on PegIntron with the Redipen or Pegasys with the Proclick?
280736 tn?1294198374 Starting treatment today. Frist RediPen injection tonight at 11 pm. So I can sleep through any side effects. Dr suggested taking motrin and tylenol 1 hr b4 injection at bed time and also 4 hrs after injection wake up and take more tylenol and motrin? Wish me luck. Anyone else starting today maybe we can track together. I am genotype 1. 57 yr old female. Will start Victrelis on week 5.
Avatar n tn I use redipen. I made a mistake --- After the solution was mixed, I was supposed to draw back the orange dose button and dial the proper dosage and then inject it. Instead I reversed the order --- I stuck the needle in and then pulled the dosage button back, dialed the proper dose, and then proceeded to inject the medicine. My question is did I get the dose inside me?
Avatar m tn I found Pegasys in pre-loaded syringe a little easier to use, just point and shoot. For me the Redi-pen was a little cumbersone with the clicking, mixing and the fat plunger was a little more difficult with a gimpy thumb. But, both are fairly easy to manage for the job they do.
Avatar m tn m a genotype 2b and going through the treatment now with 180 mg Pegasys Interferon once a week and Ribavirin 800 mg a day for 24 weeks. My doctor wants me to have my first blood test a week after my first dosage. What kind of results should I be expecting from this blood test? I know that I should pay attention to the viral load but other than that, I don't know what else should I be looking for?
Avatar m tn Not sure haven't started treatment yet but good luck with yours!
