I think you'll find that a lot of people have irritation at the injection site. There were a few things that we found to be very helpful, and which reduced the redness at the site post-injection. One, make sure you've warmed up the Pegasys between your hands before, you don't want to inject cold interferon. Also, massaging the area for a few minutes post-injection was very helpful. Once we started doing these two things, the redness went away for the most part.

I would like to avoid injecting in my thighs if possible due to the irritation at the injection site and the fact that my legs ache so massaging them would be difficult coupled with the irritation. This is my wifes favorite site but I'm the infected one. Been on treatment for 15 wks.(interferon-Riba.) Developed rash at injection sites that don't go away and on arms neck etc. Dr. decided i'm allergic to interferon.
