You need more then pegasys to treat Hepatitis C. Present treatment requirers 3 drugs. Interferon, Ribavirin, & Incivik or Victrelis. In order to get any of these drugs you will have to see a GI doctor, Hepatologist if possible. The doctor will run tests to find out what genotype you are, etc.

I was wondering if there have been any studies comparing Pegasys and Pegintron, and if one has better SVR numbers than the other or was more tolerable. I am new here so I hope I am posting this in the correct forum.

Hi. Basically the chances are about 50% that you will clear the virus. Depending on a number of factors in addition to genotype. See last section below. I have been on Pegasys for 13 weeks. Took my quantification but did not see much difference. There has been only 4.8% reduction but my viral load shows improvement. He suggested that I take tenofovir along with pegasys for another 12 weeks. I am not sure if this is going to be of any help.
