Characteristically hepatologist said for another autoimmune disorder I have (Uveitis) on my eyes that Pegasus may negatively interfere in case that is not contracted with Hep-C. In the oposite case ,that it is contracted with Hep-C, Uveitis may take advantage by interferon too. Only way to know this is just applying the treatment.
I understand you because I am surprised by this facts too. But be sure I understood this very well and I confirmed the facts as well.
My husband has had Pegasus and Ribavirin treatment for 6 months. His two tests since then have come negative. We understand that I should not get pregnant until after 6 months from last dosage taken. For some reasons I want to get pregnant by the end of 5 months since the treatment finished. Would it be risky or we shall go for some blood tests to check the drug residual in blood? If there are any such tests what are they called?
Many Primary Care Docs are not well educated about which drugs people with Hep C can take. Many think that people with Hep C cannot take Tylenol, but that is not true. Even people with Cirrhosis can take Tylenol as long as they don't take too much. Usually it is safe to take up to 2000 mg of Tylenol in divided doses in a 24 hour period. If the headaches are severe, then your doctor may have to order something more potent for the headaches.
Why would you bother treating hep c if you're planning to abuse your liver with drugs?
Just got my Pegasus and co Pegasus.Was hoping just for just the Pegasus, But there was a study that said non responders faired no better than responders on there study. Why this applies to me I do not know. I am a relapser. This cost the insurance company big money. Any Ideas? At stage 4 i have no time to wait. Have had the same issues getting into the studies. Relapser. Life can be hard at times.
I'm new to MedHelp forums and would like information on Hep C & hypothyroidism. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in 2000, after the birth of my son. I was also diagnosed with Hcv geno type 1 about 6 years ago. I started triple therapy tx with Sovaldi almost five weeks ago and have been researching hep c information relentlessly. ( this is also my 1st tx) Can someone tell me if my hypothyroidism may have a chance of going hyper?
I am going into week 3 of my treatment for hep c,I'm currently on pegasus,ribavarin,and incevek (telapravir) anyway my queston is I usually take it 10 in the morning and 7 or 8 at night. And I wanted to know is there a time limit for how many hours apart?cause the bottle just says one in the morning and once in the evening.anyway let me know.
i call one,they tell me,since i was tested for HIV in june 2011,and negative,they dont think this is right dr for me ! the G.I. doc treated me for the HEP C,and cured me but i have never been the same since pegasus and ribavarin TX for 6 mo almost 4 yrs ago.does anyone think my blood counts and symptoms are related to post TX ? or have any ideas where to turn ? or what i may be suffering from ?i have been told i have hypocelluar anemia by hemotologist.thinks maybe bleeding internally.

I was taking Pegasus and rebrivern for 24 weeks and it was very difficult for me.. I responded very early in my treatment and my liver and blood test come back normal!!!! After a 1 1/2yr. of finishing treatment the virus is still undetectable.My problem is the meds. are still in my system after a year and a half. my symptoms are fluid and popping in my ears, my hair is still thinning .

After being hospitalized for an unrelated issue, it was found my VL, and enzymes were out of whack, and I was w sent to a wellness center. Where I met my Hep C Doc., long story short because I had no insurance I was directed to PEGAssist. You'll find them at www.pegasys.com or call 1-877-734-2797. They are actually very helpful and have covered the costs of my medication, both the copegus( ribavirin) and the pegasys(peginterferon-alfa-2a). They are connected to the manufacture,Roche.

Someone will probably respond that knows more then I, but I have never heard of worms being associated with hep c and liver damage. Does your doctor know about this condition? It sounds like you havet some kind of parasite and need treatment ASAP. I would go to a doctor right away.
Again, I am no expert and perhaps there is someone that will comment that has heard of this, either way see your doctor and don't wait.
