Avatar m tn s a bit too soon to know if that prediction is truly accurate -- after all, we are only ~35 years into the known HIV/AIDS epidemic, and only 15 years into truly effective anti-HIV treatment. Therefore, the current predictions will have to be proved by the actual experiences of people diagnosed in the past several years, treated aggressively, and followed for the next 30-50 years.
Avatar n tn Check with your local dental society in regards to any services that may be available to your son in regards to his missing teeth. They may be able to refer you to further resources that are either public or private. The usual process I would imagine is to maintain the teeth that he has to continue to have a cosmetic smile and something functional.
4455258 tn?1354834496 Your child has pathologic progressive high myopia. At age five her vision should be easily quantifiable by how far down the chart she can read with glasses on. It is not possible to tell her vision from the glasses RX just as its not possible to tell a person's weight or height from knowing their shoe size. She needs to be under the care of a pediatric "team" as she likely will need to see a pediatric ophthalmologist and periodically a pediatric retina specialist.
373367 tn?1246402035 I know most of you have more problems with your eyes than ears, but does anybody know much about low frequency hearing loss. My neurologist has told me from day 1 not to tell him that my ears ring, because "everybody's ears ring." I have been having painful ringing and just pain in my ears in the last month. I went to a hearing aid place and got my ears tested and they found moderate low frequency hearing loss.

237053 tn?1258828426 s diagnosis, I took my kid to her pediatrician and a pediatric hematologist [blood doctor], and neither of them could find anything wrong at all. These are highly trained and sophisticated MDs working at very respected medical institutions, and they just aren't trained to look for Lyme in a way that would actually FIND the Lyme+. Sad but true. Ignorance abounds not only in treatment, but also in diagnosis.

429700 tn?1308007823 Well, the audiologist confirmed that I have a sensori-neural hearing loss in both ears--the right one worse than the left. He says he doesn't know if the MS caused this or not, but he doesn't think it's a central processing problem (like I thought may be). He says that some people with less hearing problems than myself want hearing aids and other people with greater problems don't want them.
2083449 tn?1381354708 Oh hun, I so understand! I bawled my eyes out yesterday over hearing a song that reminds me of my son. Hang in there, it will get better.
