m a 24 year old female-A couple of months ago I woke up with a painful pea to marble sized lump under the skin on my ear. It is located right where my ear connects to my head, on the bottom. Like if I were to pull my earlobe away from my head, it is in that "flap" of skin. Because it was painful and hard, I assumed it was a boil as I have had these in the past. I treated it with warm washclothes and heating pads, but the lump never softened or drained, however, the pain did go away.

my wife has a marble sized lump and two pea sized lumps behind her left ear . also two marble sized bumps on her head just at the hair line in the front off her head. she says they hurt when its cold almost like a tingly burning sensation. they dont hurt all off the time. she is a worrywart can anybody maybe give us a guess to what this may be. so she doesnt drive me crazy.

Painless lump behind the ear could be Lump behind the ear could be folliculitis (hair follicle infection), lipoma (localized collection of fat), a cyst, an inflamed lymph node or a neurofibroma (localized harmless swelling in of nerve and connective tissue). Watch the lump. Do not touch everyday but once in 10-15 days. If the lump increases in size, becomes painful, changes color, bleeds, changes shape or consistency or more similar lumps appear then consult a doctor. Hope this helps.

hi, since my son was 6weeks old, i noticed a small mini pea sized hard ball/lump behind his ear it was not irrating for him when touched and not mobile, i asked my family doctor what it was and she didnt know and didnt seem concerned as it was not giving him grief.

Hello, 10 months or so ago I noticed this lump behind my ear I'm not sure if it's got any bigger but I felt it again a few days ago and got worried. It is a hard circular lump and it doesn't hurt to touch but I do get pain from it now and then I also have a pea sized lump behind my left ear. When I eat it goes quite soft and sort of moveable if anybody could help me that would mean a lot. Also I have not been to the doctors for a blood test or anything like that for a long time.

Hello I found this forum and found a lot that are similiar to what my wife is going through now but i have not found any that is exactly the same. So it all happened around six to seven months ago when my wife got one lump behind her ear and it is the size of a pea. We didn't think much about it but then she started getting more lots more. She now has three of four lumps around her hair line on the back of her neck. She has one lump behind her right ear.

So hi my name is Simon and I have a big lump on my neck and i think its a lymph gland its on my right side and I have another lump which i think is also a lymph gland on my left side of my neck but it is very small and also there is another 2 lumps on the back of my ear (right and left ear) which are pea sized and there is a lump on my neck near my shoulders I am getting very scared of this and I dont know what it is someone please get back to me as soon as possible thanks - Simon

Thanks teak for replying , i went throw it but at that time of my post i wasnt have my sized pea lymph node swollen behin my ear , i put all my fear in a box and lock it untill these symptoms came , i know 12 week is the answer u will say as u said , but plz try to help me getting into peace of mind .

but now it has swollen up and hurts a lot on and around the lump and i am having pain in my ear canal also. the lump is a little bigger then a pea. i can't see it, since it's along the bone behind my ear, so my fiance had a look at it and says it's red and looks infected. i also have a lump on the left side of my pelvis, which is also red and sore and my fiance says its starting to go purple.

i was cracking my neck one morning and i pulled a muscle i guess and i felt this lump but thought it was due to the pulled muscle.. the lump doesnt hurt but it is some what of a discomfort.. recently i've been tired but i cant blame it on the lump since i dont get much sleep. Now the other day I found a hard small fixed lump on my mastoid muscle behind my right ear but I am not sure if I have had this always or if it just arised. I have been having slight ear pain for about a month now in my right ear and I went to an ENT and he said it was from allergies. I have a movable, pea (or smaller) sized lump in (upper) front of my right ear and right on the area where you feel your jaw open when opening mouth wide. It cannot be 'seen'. No pain or change in size for at least 20 years. I found it years ago when massaging a sore jaw joint. It sort of feels like it's in a tendon and in front of the Tragus.

So could it be possible that it was always there after my surgery as a bb sized lump, and I made it temporarily get bigger by messing with it? And then it shrunk back down? it could be a bacteria build up. i had one on my arm once. it just goes away. the other thing is it could possibly be a tick. i know people who have had ticks and the ticks have burrowed into their skin. im not an expert, but those are my suggestions.

I noticed a small hard lump on skull behind ear . def not a pimple. It's the size of a pea. Last couple days it was painful to touch the underside of the bone it's on. And now the lump. I read about a mastoid ear infection but not sure.

Now there is also a small little bump on the front of my tonsil that is a little sore if I apply a little pressure to it. Now the last thing wrong with my left tonsil is what lies behind it. And I mean behind-behind it, I would say it is the size of a giant pea, probably 1.5 times bigger than the other growth. Doctor, For the past 5 months or so I have noticed a small lump behind my left ear. This bump is on the bonde behind the ear (NOT the front of the face). The lump is hard, fixed, and not movable. It causes me no pain, and is about the size of a small pea. I have been playing with it lately, and do not think it has changed it size, and if it has it has been very minimal.
