You know... you'd think now that everything is in a database that they'd cross reference your prescriptions for any interactions. But the ones we've dealt with (big ones) don't. My wife was taking Paxil and had to take Tamoxifen followng her breast cancer surgery. It's a five year regime. Our pharmacy happily filled each prescription for 2years until one day my wife saw a news article claiming reduced efficacy of the Tamoxifen when taken in conjunction with Paxil.
I take a half of 37.2 phentermine and .150 synthroid can that throw my TSH out of wack. Are you suppose to take these two together. What can it cause if anything?
There are no listed interactions with Phentermine and Synthroid however i would check with a pharmacist if you do not want to talk to your doctor.
m am always wanting to check and double check drug interactions. Have you discussed your reservations with your new doctor? Is he aware of your past blood pressure? Have you asked specifically if you should monitor your BP at home and what the "too high" of a number would be? If not, I think you should call and ask for a little more info. Our pharmacist is very helpful too, so perhaps yours might be a good resource.
As for how to treat the symptoms (ie nausea), definitely work with your doctor on that. There have been reported drug interactions between Phenergan and Paxil. The interaction is classified as a "moderate" severity. Read here:

All ssris have a warning about interactions with all NSAIDS, not just aspirin. You just have to be aware of bruising that might indicate excessive bleeding. So you have to be careful. Don't know about food interactions, I wasn't told of any. Lots of weight gain possible, however, so watch the fat and sugar and be careful with diet. I think you're thinking more of the MAO inhibitors, they have lots of food contraditions.

SSRIs often interact with the metabolism of lots of medications. Paroxetine (Paxil), Fluoxetine (Prozac) and Citalopram/Escitalopram (Celexa, Lexapro) are inhibitors of CYP2D6 - the enzyme responsible for metabolizing lots of medications. Fluvoxamine (Luvox) is inhibiting another enzyme.
Sertraline (Zoloft) do not have this side effect, and Venlafaxine (Effexor, a SNRI) is also perhaps a good choice, as itdood said.
I am taking Paxil (for depression) 10mg daily, along with Carbidopa/Levodopa (for Parkinsons) and Propranolol (for other Parkinsons related issues). I am wanting to take the Fitmiss Burn (fat burner), Fitmiss Tone (CLA), Fitmiss Z-Slim PM (Sleep aid and Metabolic booster) and Fitmiss Balance (multi-vitamin). obviously they all have tons of different ingredients but they are simple to find online. You are going to cause yourself to have heart problems do to the excessive amount of caffeine. Its bad enough that you run the risk of heart problems with Phentermine but adding energy drinks to that just adds to the risk. I took Phentermine for a while. I never drank energy drinks because I cant stand them but I now have heart problems because of the Phentermine.
Hi Doctor. I have been taking Paxil for about 6 years. Recently my doctor told me that I could try Wellbutrin, because I have gained lots of weight, have very few energy and have no sexual drive.
I was taking 30 mg of Paxil, then she told me to cut it the next week to 20 mg (one week), and then to 10 mg (one week) and then start with the Wellbutrin SR.I started it last Friday, I was experiencing horrible nausea, Maalox was completely useless.
I used to be very small. Went on Paxil and gained.. lost with phentermine. Now after having 3 kids within 5 years really did a job on me. Weight loss is work. Those pills only help curb appetite. I love my carbs so I need to take meds because I am simply too weak to resist.
theres not alot of dr that are up to speed with drug interactions with methadone though so you might have to do the research

This post was 6 years ago -- I would assume the person posting has moved on. But I did want to comment on some things you mention just so anyone else with an "active" filter sees this. Taking Paxil along with Prozac is very very dangerous. Don't try this at home, kids. While some people can handle this it can also cause serotonin syndrome, and Paxil is a very very strong med.
