paxil

382594 tn?1266610613 Has anyone on Paxil experienced night sweats? I've been taking Paxil for about a month and 1/2 10mg a day and in the past week I've woken up drenched. Any input on this? Thanks!
Avatar f tn Night sweats are a side affect of taking Paxil. My husband and I have both taken Paxil (40mg); he was your same build and suffered from night sweats until the day he stoppped taking them. I took them for 6 months and suffered night sweats as well. I also have hyperhydrosis so you can only imagine how bad it was. As soon as I stopped taking Paxil, my night sweats ceased. I hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Lexapro and Buspar are totally different medications. Buspar is an anti-anxiety medication (I take that along with paxil) Lexapro is an anti depressant. You shouldn't have the same side effects. However, it will take a few weeks for the medication to work. You may have some side effects from that but everyone is different. However, you need to find the right med for you. Sometimes it is on the first shot, other times it may take a few. Hang in there and don't lose hope!
10361664 tn?1409609407 thats why my anxiety got bad...so he wants to up the paxil and take me off the zoloft cause of the side effects. I cant even work im sleeping til 2 in the afternoon and stomach is so upset! Thank you for your input I really appreciate it!
Avatar n tn Take it real solw and ask your doctor about taking Remeron to help take the edge of off the Paxil side effects. Did a great job for me! Lets you get to sleep at night and really helps with the anixety. However, it did keep me in a fog for a few days until my body adjusted.
Avatar m tn Keep in mind that antidepressants frequently cause night sweats. I get them from Lexapro and Celexa, for example. So medication can cause the same symptoms as anxiety. One thing you might try is dividing the Zoloft dose in two -- sometimes that levels the side effects and keeps a steady amount in your bloodstream.
2044839 tn?1331255841 I was recently tried on Zoloft and I thought the side effects I was having were withdrawls from my Effexor and new side effects from the Zoloft ... but it turned out I am allergic to the Zoloft and was having a reaction to it!
8398640 tn?1398042546 t automatically discount the night sweats, being a side effect of Tecfidera.......I recalled something about hot flushes but had to google if night sweats on Tecfidera was an issue being talking about, unfortunately it is, so it could actually be the Tecfidera and its probably worth mentioning to your neuro. Cheers.........
Avatar f tn ve described are indeed common and known side effects to Paxil. It is not an allergic reaction as you would develop a rash or experience tingling or swelling of your tongue and throat. Studies have shown that the side effects will gradually decrease with continued treatment over 4—6 weeks. Only 1-2% of patients experiencing these side effects discontinue the medication.
662361 tn?1225334507 ve suffered pretty awful side-effects (Lucid nightmares and full-blown night terrors, cold sweats, worsening of the depression, suicidal thoughts that I'd not had prior to the meds, restless/agitation/panic/anxiety feelings, heart palpitations, the list goes on and on.) It is for this reason that I am seeking a homeopathic approach to my condition at this time.
Avatar n tn Although both men and women suffered from their most intense and most frequent symptoms from the ages of 41 to 55, this report focused on aged subjects in order to isolate the effects of night sweats themselves from the effects of menopause and its associated symptoms. Night sweats during menopause are usually caused by estrogen deficiency, but because both older men and postmenopausal women experience night flashes, in this older group that is less likely to be the case.
Avatar n tn Last fall I was having symptoms (very hyped up, hard heart beat, sweating, hot, wieght loss, nervousness) that finally led to testing and found out I have hyperthyroid -Graves Disease. I have been taking Methimazole since right before Christmas - about 6 months. I have done well on it, and not had to deal with too many side effects. Throughout all of this, I am typically very warm, and night time is the worst with VERY bad night sweats.
Avatar f tn However, I have taken other SSRIs and SNRIs, and while the withdrawal effects can be really unsettling and uncomfortable, they do decrease in severity and eventually go away with time. I wonder whether the tremors are a side effect from starting Paxil, or a withdrawal symptom from weaning off the Cymbalta, or both?
Avatar f tn I recently had an ovary removed as well and have not experienced any hormonal changes. Are you on pain medication? Night sweats could be explained by that. I wouldn't think that the removal of one ovary would cause this, and if it does, it should be temporary, assuming your other ovary is functional. Maybe since the other ovary had a cyst removed, it is not functioning? I would check with the doctor at your follow up.
Avatar f tn I am 51 and in menopause, and I was very happy about it- no more periods and no possibility of getting pregnant, however, I am now having so many hot flashes/night sweats that I am only getting a few hours of sleep a night. My sleeping cycle is totally disrupted and I don't feel rested in the morning- (well I should be asleep now but I gave up).
704329 tn?1518523098 Well, I noticed it. Paxil is a very difficult drug to stop taking, particularly when you've been on it a long time. Changing to a different drug won't stop the withdrawal from Paxil except sometimes, at the very end of a long taper, switching to Prozac for those having a hard time quitting Paxil might help a little by basically keeping your brain functioning artificially for awhile.
Avatar f tn I was recently on paxil for anxiety until I realized all of the side effects that I was getting including gaining weight. I talked to my doctor and he said I could wean myself off. I was taking 20 mg. He said 10 mg for 2 weeks and then 5mg for 2 weeks, after start wellbutrin. However, I didn't make it that far. Just by one week of going Down to 10 mg I was vomiting, running to the bathroom. Nervousness, dizzy, brain zap and a fuzzy feeling in my head, sweating, VERY emotional.
Avatar f tn My mom had drenching night sweats when her tumors were growing. At the sametime, her white blood cell count was sky rocketing even while on the chemo. It was very noticeable for her after a shot to increase the red blood cells. So, for her, it was anemia with the low red blood cells, high white blood cell counts, and the night sweats. This occured each time the tumors were in a fast growing state.
Avatar f tn Has anyone had any side effects from Clomid? I took it June 30-July 4. For the past week, my breasts have been sore, I have night sweats from hot flashes (or almost more like cold chills), and I have been bloated and had diarrhea for over a week. At first, I thought I might have salmonella because of the abdominal pains, cramping and diarrhea. When I noticed the breat soreness, I realized it must be from the Clomid.
Avatar n tn Its disgusting! Unfortunately, it IS a side effect of the Paxil. I was on Effexor from 1987-2001. I was switched to Paxil (because I had moved and my new insurance wouldn't cover Effexor any longer) after a week long withdrawal period to get the Effexor out of my system. I have been on Paxil ever since (11yrs.) and I have only experienced the sweating issue for the past 2yrs. I had a COMPLETE hysterectomy in 2001 (age:31, 185lbs.
983155 tn?1248700406 re in Paxil withdrawal and, because you started another drug at the same time that has a completely different mechanism of action, you have the side effects of starting another drug that may not even be an appropriate substitute for Paxil. What you should do is, if you just started the wellbutrin, stop it, go back on the Paxil, and taper off slowly, as slowly as it takes because you aren't anyone else. What you have are classic Paxil withdrawal symptoms.
Avatar n tn My daughter is currently taking a combination of depakote, lamictal, and abilify for a mood disorder. However, her doctor feels the overwhelming problem with her is an anxiety disorder that is not being addressed by the current meds. The doctor wants to ween her off the lamictal completely and start her on klonopin wafers. I am concerned about the "drowsiness" side effects. Do these eventually go away?
Avatar f tn Lots of people dont even get that much so early in detox!!! I didnt have a problem with the night sweats but Im sure someone will be along soon who can give you some advice and encouragement!! I imagine its still your body trying to find "normal" again!!!Keep up the great job!!!
Avatar f tn When I started, I was also taking bioidentical progesterone, estrogen mix and DHEA to control hot flashes and night sweats, which it was doing very well. Once levothyroxine came in, the flashes and night sweats came back with a vengeance and I had trouble sleeping.
