thats why my anxiety got bad...so he wants to up the paxil and take me off the zoloft cause of the side effects. I cant even work im sleeping til 2 in the afternoon and stomach is so upset! Thank you for your input I really appreciate it!

Take it real solw and ask your doctor about taking Remeron to help take the edge of off the Paxil side effects. Did a great job for me! Lets you get to sleep at night and really helps with the anixety. However, it did keep me in a fog for a few days until my body adjusted.

I was recently tried on Zoloft and I thought the side effects I was having were withdrawls from my Effexor and new side effects from the Zoloft ... but it turned out I am allergic to the Zoloft and was having a reaction to it!

However, I have taken other SSRIs and SNRIs, and while the withdrawal effects can be really unsettling and uncomfortable, they do decrease in severity and eventually go away with time. I wonder whether the tremors are a side effect from starting Paxil, or a withdrawal symptom from weaning off the Cymbalta, or both?

I was recently on paxil for anxiety until I realized all of the side effects that I was getting including gaining weight. I talked to my doctor and he said I could wean myself off. I was taking 20 mg. He said 10 mg for 2 weeks and then 5mg for 2 weeks, after start wellbutrin. However, I didn't make it that far. Just by one week of going Down to 10 mg I was vomiting, running to the bathroom. Nervousness, dizzy, brain zap and a fuzzy feeling in my head, sweating, VERY emotional.

re in Paxil withdrawal and, because you started another drug at the same time that has a completely different mechanism of action, you have the side effects of starting another drug that may not even be an appropriate substitute for Paxil. What you should do is, if you just started the wellbutrin, stop it, go back on the Paxil, and taper off slowly, as slowly as it takes because you aren't anyone else. What you have are classic Paxil withdrawal symptoms.

My daughter is currently taking a combination of depakote, lamictal, and abilify for a mood disorder. However, her doctor feels the overwhelming problem with her is an anxiety disorder that is not being addressed by the current meds. All meds come with possible side effects, even aspirin. The tiredness your feeling could be a side effect or it could be from having more anxiety.

I also take Acebutolol. Just wondering what types of side effects people have experienced while being on these meds? Since being on them I notice that I am much more tired than usual. I also notice my muscles and joints ache and get fatigued very easily...i went from running 3 or 4 miles, to getting tired walking up the stairs...the medicine keeps my heart rate in check, but with consequences I really feel that the medicine is to blame...

there is nothing an online message board can do to help you with this. You are sounding sick, you need to either go to be seen or call the clinic you were seen at and ask to speak to someone about what you are experiencing.

I also take Paxil for a sleep disorder (depression-related insomnia) and have for 11+ years. It works wonderously, but I gained 30+ lbs when I started the medication and have tried for years to lose it, unsuccessfully. I will lose some weight - and believe me, it takes an enormous amount of exercise and effort - but inevitably gain it back because Paxil makes my appetite so strong.

t taper of SSRIs like Paxil there can be unwanted side effects to include what you are describing in my opinion. That is why it is essential not to quit these medications cold turkey. For me, tapering slowly minimized these side effects and they will go away...keep us posted!

Thank you for responding, I have been on Paxil for 7yrs and have had sexual side effects and also weight gain. I asked if I could be put on something else that doesn't have these effects. So the doctor told me to stop the paxil and replace it with the Wellbutrin. I have been on the drug for 5 days at 150 mg and have had side effects. It feel like my body is having jolts or zaps. I feel dizzy and can't move to fast because of it, I am nervous about driving as well.

ive been take paxil 6months 4months ago start have serious bad side effects but csnt get in to my dr until friday he told me to stop take them so i dindt take one lastnight ive been so bad dizzy not feel good so tonight ill break my 20mg in half but question if he replaces my paxil with anther depression pill i shouldnt have side effects from paxil or would i & is there any safe less side effects depression/anxiety med ive try 9so far side effects too yall:thanks::

s working. I was Paxil for several years, and the side effects changed over time, and I was on imipramine for several years and the side effects changed over time and then it stopped working and I'm on Lexapro and the side effects have changed over time. Just the nature of the beast.

If your concern is only the weight change factor just keep an eye on your weight and if you start to notice you that your gaining or losing call your doctor. The weight is one of the less serious side effects. But do your research on the Paxil and the dosage. Or nothing may happen at all the side effects vary from person to person. You may not have any side effects.

My own advice would be to wean off Paxil before trying another antidepressant so you can tell which effects are withdrawal from Paxil and which are side effects of the new med. It's hard to do when you're essentially on two meds at once; even though Paxil leaves the body quickly, the brain takes a while to adapt to the cessation of these meds. But this is just my opinion.

The ssris with the best reputation for the least side effects are Lexapro and Prozac. Paxil and the snri Effexor are the very worst by reputation, so why start there? Just my opinion, again. The above is correct -- it takes 4-6 weeks to notice if it's going to work, but side effect begin immediately. Bummer that, but it is the way it is.

Hello, my doctor put me on Remeron(generic) about a month and 1/2 ago to help with the withdrawl symptoma of the Paxil that I was getting off of. The Remeron (15mg) did a great job at that.... kept my anxiety down and let me sleep but hasn't really helped with my obssesive racing thoughts/worry . I've now been on Prozac (worked wonders for me 15yrs ago) for about 12 days and still on the Remeron. Two nights ago I began to tapper off of the Remeron. I went down to 7.
