paxil recall

I am starting up Paxil for a second time (first time was in 2003) and I recall having trouble with staying asleep the first time around when first starting up. It certainly is the problem now. I have just finished the second week on 10mg and I can fall asleep easily with 5mg or 10mg Ambien, but I now wake with a start in just a few hours, then I can't get back to sleep for the night. Very frustrating and exhausting. Is this the norm? How long will it last??

I don't know if it's Paxil or the seizures. I didn't start having seizures until I was on Paxil for a little while, and I didn't have short term memory loss until after I started taking Paxil. It all correlates to the same time. I'm concerned because I have read other people having the same complaint about it. I am seeing a doctor this coming Monday, though, to find out for sure. I shouldn't have to be 22 years old with a worse memory than my grandmother.

t recall having seen anything directly in the info about Paxil, but you should be able to lose on it, whether you take Paxil, or not. Good luck. Let us hear what works for you.

I have been on Paxil since December but recently have been trying to get off of it.I was taking 20 mg,so I cut it down to 10 mg.Since I have done this,I feel as if I am going nuts.I am dizzy,feel sick,very emotional,and angry,and getting the brain zaps.I hate this feeling.I was on Paxil years ago for 4 years,and when I weaned off of it,I do not recall ever feeling like this.Has anyone experienced this?

Just today I took a first pill of Paxil (10mgs). I was just wondering what I could expect. Right now I feel terrible like I need to vomit. I am feeling extra anxious right now too. Just keep thinking something is wrong or I am having some sort of serious side effects. Is it normal to have these side effects right away? t been able to tolerate going back onto Paxil, have tried several times with the same effect each time, very unplesant symptoms which after stumbling upon a web-site i have found the answer to which my doctors didn't even feel obligated to inform me about. Thanks for the reply. Yes I think it might be a social phobic thing. Because it does happen to when I'm in public place such as going out to dinner or something with a friend. Yes I worry others will notice me more because of my issue. It can even be one friend and no one else besides us going out to a restuarant.

I, personally, like Effexor. After being on Effexor XR for about 7-8 years, my psychiatrist switched me to Pristiq (which is Effexor Lite) last year because it was cheaper for me to get than the Effexor was. I can tell you this, it is the best medication for me. I'd been on Prozac, Paxil, Celexa, Zoloft, and some old-school MAOI's. But nothing, nothing, worked as well as the Effexor for my anxiety disorder.

I would like to ask folks what they have used that helped their anxiety besides the benzo's. I would like to get off the .25 that I'm taking now. Does Paxil work for anxiety? Please share your sucesses over anxiety.

I just started Paxil again for my 3rd time and for the life of me I can't recall having such severe headaches the 1st 2 times. I take 20mg in the morning. Around 3-4 how later a dull pain stretches across the top of my head into both temple and into both jaws as well as being my eyes. I find myself clenching my teeth together as well. I'm on day 5 and on day 3 I literally cried off & on the entire evening & all night until the pain in my head eased around 8am.

When I was on it I recall the formal recommendations were generally -- and I say this because individuals don't match the generalizations necessarily -- 10mg for depression and 20mg for anxiety.

My Dr. put me on Celexa for general anxiety. I don't recall ever having an actual panic attack until after I was put on this medication. I thought the Celexa may have actually been causing the panic attacks, so now I have been on paxil for a few days. I had another panic attack last night. I'll try to make this short and sweet. I have been having headaches and neck paid for about 2 months. Sometimes it gets really painful. It does not respond to any OTC pain relievers. I take Paxil and buspar on a daily basis. I used to only take the paxil, but I still had terrible anxiety in the morning. My doctor then added the buspar 2x a day. It helped me almost immediately. It took away that horrible nausea and anxiety by 90 % in the morning. Some people say that buspar isn't effective, but it has been very effective for me. I take Klonopin only on an as needed basis. (Which is very rarely). Hope this helps!

Hi I have been on paxil for nine years.. I am currently 25 and feel like the paxil isnt working for me.. I also had tried stopping paxil for four months cold turkey.. it was HORRIBLE.... so i went back on 10 mgs.. now ive been on 10 mg for 3 years.. I just switched to zoloft over night.. as a doctor reccomended.. I am worried I will have paxil withdrawls symptons.. I really hope I dont.. I am taking 50 mg of zoloft.. i have felt ok since and its been four days... hopefully it will be fine..

s a very tough drug to stop taking for most people. I will tell you I was on clonazepam and Paxil at the same time for years, but the Paxil was way more effective than the clonazepam. What may have happened is new challenges may have arisen in your life -- drugs don't cure anything, they just mitigate the symptoms but new challenges can override the effect.

I am 3 weeks back on Paxil after a failed attempt to switch medications to Lexapro. I have read a lot that Paxil loses its effectiveness after the first time. I (stupidly) have started, stopped & restarted Paxil on several different occasions and it always has seemed to work. I was on paxil 20mg originally then stopped cold turkey and went back on at Paxil CR 12.5. Upped dose over time to Paxil CR 25mg.
