Common Questions and Answers about Paxil online

paxil

Avatar f tn i have taken anti depressants before but never long enough to see if they really work. past few months depression has been really bad and i have a bottle of paxil that my doctor prescribed for me. i have been reading on line some reviews about paxil and not many of them were good. has anyone here taken it and had good experience with it.
Avatar m tn Yeah I used to see a doc and he prescribed me paxil and then lexapro and the effexor etc... Anyways, I stayed on paxil because it worked so well. These blood tests you mention, for an entire year that I was seeing a doctor, I was never given one. Nor was I ever advised about liver problems. I found out the information online. So needless to say, I cut out the middle man and started obtaining my paxil from a close friend for free.
324184 tn?1308076203 Hello all! I have been on zoloft for over a year and it seems as though my body has become immune to it and it's no longer working for me. My dr has switched me to Paxil and I know from experience (but did it anyways b/c I couldn't resist) that you shouldn't necessarily pay attention to the horror stories that you find online... b/c everyone is different, but I would like some feedback.
Avatar f tn My husband has been taking paxil for the past 13 years (10mg). From the research online I found out that paxil changes sperm DNA that reduces permeability and as a result reduces the chance for pregnancy. I just want to know if there are men out there who've been taking paxil and also got kids? Did you have to switch from paxil to something else? Did you have to take specific supplements? Please advise.
1553775 tn?1325182402 t have any other causes of high blood pressure (I have had some tests run). I found some information online saying that Paxil caused their blood pressure to raise, but I am assuming it only happened in a small number of people.
Avatar f tn All mammograms since have been negative. Of course being a worry wart I researched Paxil online and read some articles linking prolactin increasing from some SSRIS specifically Paxil to increase a Breast Cancer risk. The Paxil is working for me after all of these years of feeling out of sorts. Can you explain the breast cancer scare and if I should ask my Dr to switch to another SSRI? Thank you in advance for any advice.

Avatar f tn First, why are you taking the Paxil? Why Paxil? For some people, a given antidepressant can be very stimulating, and can also cause personality changes and odd thoughts. This is said to be more common with young people, but can happen to anyone, and it's more common with, say, Prozac or the snris which are more stimulating than with Paxil, but you are the only you. Again, if anxiety isn't your problem, why are you taking Paxil? For depression?
Avatar f tn Please if you have taken it give me your experience. I have had bad anxiety and panic attacks for about 2 months now. I have had a rx for paxil that I have not taken. I'm really debating whether to take it or not. I have read online bad and good reviews. The doc told me it would take a week or two to work and that I might feel more anxious at first. He told me that can start with half a pill a day and see how I feel.
Avatar f tn Hi all, I have been on Paxil Cr for a few years. 25 mg. It has worked really well for my panic attacks but recently I lost insurance and won't be eligible for medicare for 8 months so I ordered my prescription from online pharmacy which I have done before with no problem. Since I was low on my meds and didn't want to run out before it got here I reduced dosage. Took 1/2 pill every other day only problem I had was balance issues which got better after a week.
Avatar f tn I have a program called my virtual shrink images online, inexpensive, and can help you focus on changing those behaviors that you need to become more active in life.
Avatar f tn 5CR and just increased to 25 CR with no side effects and actually feeling much better these days. Of course being a worry wart I researched Paxil online and found a study that suggested Paxil is the worst SSRI to be on and that it is the only one that may increase my breast cancer risk. I was wondering how true these statements are and should I ask my Dr to switch me to another SSRI just in case. I am 55 years old and post menopause.
Avatar n tn I have been on and off Paxil for 5 years now. I started on CR low dose, now at 30mg no cr. My body is used to it... and it doesnt help me very much anymore-although it is better than being with out any medication at all. Soon I will be getting re-evaluated and I know they're going to ask me to wean off it. I am really scared, because I know the few times I have lapsed in dose, it has been absolutely horrible. Any advice? Any info? Everything I find online is abstract and not really helpful.
Avatar m tn im sick of getting panic attacks even with the valium and ativan,,,, ive been one or the other for a year now , im just wondering if theres an anti drpessant for anxiety attacks, that is weaker than paxil or prozac? i was on paxil before and i didnt like tha way it made me feel. im just sick of feeling like this?
Avatar f tn You could look up Paxil online but choose a reputable site like Merck or look for a Physicians Desk Reference site. Look for the section that offers contraindications. There they list all the reasons a person should not take it - due to other health problems or if they're taking certain other medications.
Avatar f tn Hi all, Just wondering, is there any 1 out there that has had a positive experience with Paxil CR. I read alot of horror stories and am just wondering if it has actually helped anyone. You see, I have had panic disorder my whole life. I am 51 now. I was put on Paxil CR a few years ago and I thought it was a miracle drug. Totally got rid of my panic attacks. Still have some anxiety but am menopausal also.

Avatar m tn I was on Paxil for 14 years, and had enough of it's problems...sweating way too much anytime of the year, nastiness, unrelated anger to situations, rages, poor decision making, It made me a monster. When I stopped no one told me DO NOT STOP COLD TURKEY......I did in April 08 and in Sept. I went into the most hellish experience I ever had. Head pressure, lights flashing in my eyes, burning in hands and feet, tingling all over my body, OCD way off the wall, and fear I have never known before.
Avatar n tn So this all started last night. I was up late because I wasn't tired so I was just relaxing on my computer when all of a sudden I felt like a lump was forming in my throat making it feel like my throat was closing up. Starting to get dizzy, I decided to head up to bed, but the sensation wouldn't go away. I knew if I took a benadryl just to be sure, I could put my mind at ease also and go to sleep. This morning I woke up with the lump gone, but the severe dizziness still present.
Avatar f tn Anyone taking Paxil out there for anxiety attacks. I really don't want to take it but dr presc. because i'm taking xanax .25mg 4 times daily and wants me to switch to an antidepressant. I really don't want to because I tried Lexipro and really got a bad reaction. I don't want to be on medications and try to overcome this anxiety. Where do I go from here and why do I have to start an ssri? My other dr/family friend suggested to switch to klonopin.

Avatar m tn 25 M, 6'1, 185 lbs, white, ADHD, Paxil 40mg + Caffeine ~ 200mg + Nicotine ~ 6mg My grandmother developed diabetes. In 2020 my Glucose level (from a COMPREHENSIVE METABOLIC PANEL, done for a routine physical) was 91 mg/dL, last month it was 105 mg/dL. The test mentions that a normal range is 65 - 99 mg/dL. Should I stop using nicotine gum to mitigate any risk to insulin function? This article states that nicotine gum decreases your body's insulin effectiveness...
Avatar n tn Well, since fltricia invited me . . . Yeah, Paxil can be a very difficult med, but my problems happened because my psychiatrist blew taking me off it. While on the med, it did help with my panic attacks, but there were a lot of side effects. It's a weird drug. But we all experience these things differently, so my situation won't be yours. But be very careful stopping Paxil if you're going to come off it altogether. Do it at whatever pace suits you.
