Folks; I'm not sure if this is the right forum to ask this question but i will ask it any way hoping some one may have answer. I've been taking Paxil 20 mg for about 5 years now, 1 years ago, my doctor added Lamictal 300 mg to help my mood swing issue. Now I'm trying to get off Paxil, so my doctor start adding Wellbutrin 300 mg to the mix to start gradually getting Paxil off my system. The problem is since we added Wellbutrin I noticed that i'm losing a lot of hair.

I've been on paxil at 40mg for about 7yrs now and i'm trying to get off and switch to somthing that is less addictive and isnt going to give me all the shocks and zingers and make me incredibly depressed when i miss a dose. My doctor recommended switching to Prozac, but he said to do research on my own of what would be a good alternative. I've been reading alot of the post and it seems that prozac isnt the right way to go. What could you recommended?

I don't know if it's Paxil or the seizures. I didn't start having seizures until I was on Paxil for a little while, and I didn't have short term memory loss until after I started taking Paxil. It all correlates to the same time. I'm concerned because I have read other people having the same complaint about it. I am seeing a doctor this coming Monday, though, to find out for sure. I shouldn't have to be 22 years old with a worse memory than my grandmother.

im on paxil and gained 15 pounds. i lowered my dose to 10 mgs every other day and am staying the same on the days i take the paxil i never stop eating. i love the way paxil gets rid of all my anxiety and fear of leaving the house but my gosh this weight gain has got to stop any ideas?

As for Interferon treatment and hair loss, yes, many people experience hair thinning. My hair became very thinned out over the course of the 48 weeks. I don't know of anything you can 'take' to make it stop, but I used Nioxin shampoo and conditioner, which gave it the appearance of being thicker. It is growing back, though, as thick as it was before. As for other side effects, the biggest for me was depression and malaise. My doctor prescribed Paxil. It helped.

Everytime I do any activity walking up stairs run the vacuum walk around the store I have excessive sweating of the back of the head my hair becomes soaking wet. It looks like i just steeped out of the shower i can ring the water from my hair my face gets flushed but if i sit down i cool off and then i am ok. I have had a similar issue with Paxil for years, and it's extremely frustrating. I gained 30 lbs when I first started that drug and haven't been able to take it off. Sabrina, yes paxil,like all the other ssri's can cause weight gain. The medication that doesn't is wellbutrin, or if anxiety is the main symptom, klonopin. You should adjust to tiredness within a week, if not, then maybe the dose is too high for you. I was on paxil for 8-9 yrs. Probably about 2 years ago, I started having memory loss. Well today I am lucky if I can remember to pay a bill or where I placed an important paper. What is some suggestions to help bring the memory back, or will it come back. I have been off the meds. since 3 weeks ago and feel great excepts for the memory loss. My doctor swiched me from Paxil to Bupropion Sr. last week and He said that thier was no need to ween myself off of the Paxil. So I started the Bupropion Sr at 150mg once a day for 4 days and then was to go on to two a day, Well since I started the drug. The Lexapro is doing diddley as I feel worse than I have before ( anxiety, plus headaches, loss of appetite, and my hair is falling out). I have been on Paxil for over 10 years, Paxil CR 25 mg and decided to try to get off of them. Low iron levels can cause hair loss. You might want to get that checked.

I'm losing hair too. Not in clumps but I clog the drain once a week from my hair loss. And all my friends said their hair was so full and healthy during pregnancy and after lost some. I get a ball of hair during evey wash and its not normal for me also my scalp itches like crazy and I don't have bugs lol o had my husband check lol!
