Paxil generic brand

Common Questions and Answers about Paxil generic brand

paxil

Avatar f tn I take a generic with the same results as the brand name. I went to a generic due to the cost as well.
Avatar f tn 15 yrs later I had another bout of anxiety and depression and tried it again and it did nothing sadly. Sometimes I wonder abt generic vs brand name bc in college Prizac was brand name and when I tried it 15 yrs later, it had gone generic and the generic didn't work. Don't worry, you did nothing wrong. Sending healing thoughts your way!
1134609 tn?1269272200 I currently take the generic version of Paxil. I have never had the brand name so I do not know how the brand name would affect me. I have noticed in the past with another medication that the brand name was much more effective than the generic.
Avatar n tn Has any one ever ordered generic Paxil successfully on line? I want to continue with the Paxil but it's a bit pricey.
177505 tn?1220442258 she is going to get me off of the paxil and back onto the zoloft, but this time, i found out that my insurance covers the name brand. she said i will, for a little bit be on paxil and zoloft to wean down off of the paxil. this makes me nervous because of taking 2 meds at the same time plus taking ativan as needed. will this be safe or can i just go from paxil to zoloft since i haven't really be on a high dose of paxil for a long period of time? i am just wanting to feel better.
Avatar m tn A few months ago I started a generic paxil from CVS. It is a different manufacturer than the generic I have been taking for about 3 years from Walmart. Since I have been taking the generic from CVS I have been extremely tired in the afternoons and now I don't feel well every afternoon like clockwork. I only take 15 milligrams of a 20 milligram pill and have been cutting it down for 2 years to only 15.Is this happening because the depression is coming on and the paxil is pooping out.?
1110049 tn?1409402144 This is one of those never ending debates (generic vs brand). Doctors are pretty resistant to believe that there is ANY difference and are quick to say "it's in your head", and that simply isn't ALWAYS the case. The truth is, there ARE differences. They are complicated and hard to explain, but they are there.
Avatar f tn I may call my Dr about this generic brand. I did check into Walmart and they do not have the CR in generic. However, I am now feeling emotions I haven't felt in a long time. I cry at sad movies, enjoy going out more, have a little more energy and have kept the somewhat outgoing nature that I developed while taking them. I think I like these feelings!!
Avatar f tn I thought it was just a coincidence but the brand name Prozac worked much better than the generic for me. My doctor confirmed this and said she didn't believe the generic form was as effective. Anyone else have any experience with this?
Avatar n tn I do not think I am the one to answer this question. On one hand, I understand why you want to continue with the medication, on the other hand, allergic reactions can be serious. Sorting out whether the reaction is dose related, or related to some ingredient of the extended release package, is something for you and your doctor to do together, and carefully. Please don't experiment on your own, or simply react to something you have read about the product.
12182312 tn?1427683956 Quick question And I still will ask my doctor about this, but wanted your opinion. I take Paxil for depression, well generic brand, and also metoprolol for fast palpitations. My paroxetine is 40mg, and metoprolol is 25mg. Are they safe to take together. Is one an upper, one a downer. I take Paxil in the morning, metoprolol before bed.
1422233 tn?1282701102 This question could also qualify as a depression one so I hope it's ok to post it here. I'm a 22 year old female & have anxiety, depression, & OCD. I have been on Paxil (the generic brand) for about three years now. A couple of weeks ago I started to feel like it wasn't working for me anymore. I can feel the anxiety & I get down. It's not as bad as before I was on the Paxil, but I think I need a change. I have a Doctors' appointment this week.
Avatar f tn Paxil now comes in generic form. It costs about $4.00 a month. Ask your Dr about putting you on generic.
Avatar n tn Talk to the doc about a chnage in meds. Everyone is different so all I can do is tell you what I use. Klonopin (Generic clozapan?...I get the brand name). It's an older med, I've been on it since the early 90's and it works very fast. It's just a suggestion. I started out on 1mg, but back then they were so bad it went to 2mgs 2x's a day, and I have chnaged it since.
Avatar n tn My doctor just put me on Wellbutrin the generic brand for my anxiety and it take 3 weeks to start working, your not suppose to gain weight from it that is why I went on it instead of those SSRI's like paxil, zoloft and prozac. Yesterday was my first day so we will see. But it is used for anxiety.
1216231 tn?1272475704 First, a generic brand of Paxil. On this medication, I was always tired, inactive, and I gained 20 pounds. Six months later, I switched to Prozac. Felt fine, though I couldn't lose any of the weight I'd gained. I gradually tapered off the Paxil, WITH NP supervision. I'm now experiencing incredible mood swings that are most often ignited by common nuisances: loud people, messy people, loud noises, unhelpful people, etc.
422220 tn?1256764529 I was talking about how anxious I was and the nurse practitioner wrote a prescription for Paxil. I got the generic version and took one last night with supper. I started feeling really crappy about 9 pm and went to bed. Tossed and turned for hours then got a horrific headache, chills, hot flashes, and the inability to stay vertical for any amount of time. I also had a scratchy throat. I figured I had either a really bad reaction or I have the flu.
Avatar f tn ve read other people claiming that name brand Paxil and Paxil cr made a difference when the generic one failed. I'm not sure if that's a route I should have tried first. Hindsight is a real, you know what, lol. I started on name brand and when generic came out I switched and didn't seem to have issues so I doubt that would make a difference, but I've never tried the CR version.
983155 tn?1248700406 What are you treating? If it's anxiety, wellbutrin will just cause more. If it's just depression, wellbutrin can be helpful, but not right after stopping Paxil. You should never stop Paxil cold turkey. You're in Paxil withdrawal and, because you started another drug at the same time that has a completely different mechanism of action, you have the side effects of starting another drug that may not even be an appropriate substitute for Paxil.
Avatar f tn I'm a 36 year-old male. I've been taking 40mg of Paxil for 10 years. I have to take the name-brand, because the generic doesn't work for me (tried 3 different times). A few weeks ago, the old feelings of anxiety started creeping back in. Racing thoughts, sick feeling in the pit of my stomach, overwhelming sense of fear, etc. Now, I am feeding that anxiety with more fear. I am afraid that Paxil isn't working anymore, and I am scared that I will have to come off of it.
476246 tn?1418870914 , the primary ‘rescue’ meds are (generic) epoetin alpha (brand names Epogen, Procrit, Aransp), and filgrastim (generic) (brand name Neupogen). We do have a platelet booster here that has been approved for cancer treatment; it is generically known as oprelvekin (brand name Neumega), but its use has not been FDA approved for HCV treatment to my knowledge; it tends to worsen hemolytic anemia, although we have had a few patients in forum that have tried it.
1119036 tn?1259534815 i am currently taking 1mg xanax 3 times a day i go to walgreens and they have the generic brand purepac and i have heard that greenstone brand is so much better i was just wondering if anyone had any feed back .......
950277 tn?1247274551 celexa generic citalopram and brand name cipram in the the eastern countries is produced by the same Danish company which produces cipralex/lexapro/escitalopram. In different forums one finds many pts using it. it's weaker than lexapro, exactly half its therapeutic dose in maximum and minimum. BP pts take wellbutrin, celexa, lexapro in the majority of the cases. A few take seroxat/paxil to go with lamictal.
