Avatar n tn does anyone get aching legs from taking paxil. I am on 40 mg paxil for gad and depression. My legs only ache when I am laying down does anyone else out there have this.
Avatar n tn Currently taking 30 mgs of Paxil because of severe GAD. Because of weight gain doctor has suggested switching to Zoloft. How do you think the doctor could switch. Does it work for most people in switching from one SSRI to another or do most people have significant side effects?
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with GAD years ago for which I took Paxil. Eventually with a lot of therapy I weaned myself off after 3 years. I was in all respect living and coping normally. Fast forward 8 months later I got a vertigo attack (first ever) and that opened the floodgates. Since this attack (3 months ago) I have not been the same. My anxiety skyrocketed. I feel dizzy and lightened everyday although the vertigo subsided through some excercises (it was BPPV). My life however is not the same.
Avatar n tn I too have GAD and depression, it can be a challenge to figure out which medication is the best since each person is unique. Can I ask a couple questions? Are you seeing a psychiatrist for your medications? The reason I ask is because many people get their meds from a general practice doctor when really we should all be getting them from a psychiatrist, they are the ones who truly understand mental health issues and the meds used to treat them. Have you or are you in counseling?
1722607 tn?1335747858 I coundn't find any interactions for paxil with either PI or PEG/RIBA http://www.drugs.com/condition/chronic-hepatitis-c.
Avatar m tn My husband has atrial fibralation and is taking Tikosyn, Eliquis, Carvedilol, And Tamsulosin. He has recently been diagnosed with GAD, what SSRI can he take safely with his other meds to help with anxiety and depression, anxiety is a big problem.
Avatar n tn thank yo for your feedback. I have been off of SSRI's for all most 1 year. I weened off slowly and still had terrible nausea and pain in the process. The reason I came off of the Paxil is that I read that the SSRI's only help about 15% of patients with GAD, social phobias etc. I occassionaly take alprazolam when i feel the flight response.
Avatar f tn Hey, for me Paxil did the trick! It took awhile to kick in, but when it did, it worked great. I took 10mg for 6 months and then bumped it up to 20mg for another 6 months...currently on it still...trying to get off of it soon though...hope you find something that helps you.
Avatar m tn Well if it worked for you ,then take it ,alot of people read stuff and freak themselves out so bad they suffer instead,so ask yourself ,gad ,or no gad?
Avatar f tn Never had GAD until after Paxil withdrawal, and I have to say, as bad as panic attacks are, GAD is even worse, at least for me. With panic attacks, I wasn't nervous unless I had to do something I'd attached panic to, but with GAD, I'm anxious all the time and I still have panic attacks, too, so phooey.
Avatar f tn I did okay on Paxil as far as mania but when the doctor tried to combine Effexor and celexa I had a episode and once dosage was decreased and over a few weeks I was able to handle it, Thank God! I did take Wellbutrin and was so angry, mean and aggressive...bad stuff for me..
Avatar f tn I'm adhd and GAD I am currently on adderal and celexa has been added. I hate antidepressant medications because they make me manic. Does anyone have this problem? Im thinking I may have a little bipolar even though my pdoc said he didn't see any signs.
Avatar n tn Hello, I am really wondering about a few things so if ANYONE can help i would be so appreciative, and i don't mean to ramble bout it so let me know if i don't make sense. I have had GAD and panic disorder for two mnths. was put on paxil the generic 8 days ago at 20 mg. It makes me tired during the day, no sleep at night without ativan 1 mg, nausua no appetite and lathargic.. I have read sooo much about these being normal effects so i am guessing they are right? and will they get better?
Avatar f tn I was on Paxil for almost fifteen years but switched to Wellbutrin SR 150 mg 1x daily two weeks ago. I have experienced every side effect in the book so far--nausea, dizziness, and severe muscle pain. I have not noticed any benefits yet to this medication. My mood is flat other than wanting to burst into tears, and I am ANGRY. When will (and do?) the side effects fade? When does the Wellbutrin start to boost mood? I have had a return of sexual function, for which I am grateful.
Avatar m tn I am experiencing all this on paxil now for going on 6 weeks....I also have GAD...today I can hardly move out of the recliner I am so weak and depressed feeling....I dont know if you ever get use to these drugs or not because I have tried so many and I have about all the same side effects....my anxiety got so bad I decided I would try again and I feel the longer I am on it the worse I feel....I am only on 10mg....
Avatar f tn when I started Paxil for my anxiety, my doctor gave me Clonazepam to take for the first month or so while I got used to the Paxil (because when starting Paxil, you can feel worse before you start to feel better). So, for the purpose it was prescribed for me, it worked. If you are having short-term anxiety, it may be a good choice for you...because it is very addictive, so every day use is not always recommended.
Avatar m tn I am starting week #5 of paxil cr (week 1 = paxil cr 12.5, week 2 = paxil cr 25, week 3- current = paxil 37.5) Everywhere I read its just "keep waiting it out. It will get better." My doc wants me to raise to paxil cr 50mg on Monday if I don't start feeling any better. That is double the old dose I was at that worked for so long! It just scares me to keep going up. I recently tried Lexapro and it was a disaster. I just need some positive feedback.
Avatar f tn s hard for some to come off paxil but not everyone. And the hope is the lexopro will move into action and help again where paxil was. By the way, why did you need to stop the paxil? Hang in there. Take one day at a time. And if you have to, even if it seems impossible, call your doctor and get seen. They will make time for you if you are really struggling.
Avatar f tn I called to tell her i want to go on SSRI s since i was on Paxil for 6 years and it helped tremendously but peetered out. (I did tell her the weight gain and constipation was a problem and wanted something that would not have those side effects before starting Wellbutrin). She just called me and said that my options are running low and that she thinks i am just anxious when taking a new drug! I am very drug sensitive I told her.
Avatar n tn Hi. I am a 37 y/o healthy male and take 25mgs of zoloft for GAD. I have a history of panic attacks and numerous ER visits. I am also a HUGE hypochondriac. I have been on numerous ssris and found zoloft to work the best. I am wondering if anyone else has the problem of an "overactive" mind. Like you just cant shut down the racing thoughts and seeing things in a constant evaluating way. I have also just started to increase my zoloft to 37mgs.
Avatar f tn hi what are your symptoms related to GAD. i have been feeling terrible and am taking paxil now for three weeks and still feel no relief. my skin feels like it is burning, i feel shaky, nauseous to where i can't eat, diarrhea all day long, heart beating fast and hard, light headed, so tired but can't sleep good, my throat has gotten so swollen my tonsils are almost touching, and my chest hurts and i can't breathe good. my dr.
Avatar f tn I have been on Paxil 20 mg now for 2 1/2 months. I fell better but not all the way. I haven't had a full blown panic attack since taking 20 mg but I still have the constant lower grade anxiety. My anxiety is all related to my health. I am convinced I have some horrible disease. I go from thinking I have AIDS to a brain tumor to MS to Parkinson's. It never ends. Every little symptom in my body leads me to a new self-diagnosis of a deadly disease.
