paxil

Avatar n tn my daughter is 33 and about 6 weeks pregnant. Gets dry heaves and vomiting She is also being weaned off of Paxil. Can't seem to keep anything down. what can she do and is this normal??
Avatar f tn Daily morning vomiting, anxiety, lost nearly thirty pounds in a month. I went on Paxil and Klonopin and the vomiting stopped. Stomach issues were still there, but I stopped losing weight and vomiting. However, I think taking all the med on a distressed stomach may have injured it more. I now have unbearable stomach pain at night and nausea in the morning. I have been up four hours with the pain.
Avatar n tn Fourth, go see a holistic nutritionist and find out what in your diet and life is causing this, and in the meantime try drinking some aloe juice and/or taking deglycerized licorice (DGL) and see if it helps, or some peppermint oil caps. This is a digestive problem, not something that requires getting on an ssri.
Avatar n tn I have been taking Paxil for 12 years now. I suffer from PTD, OCD and Bi Polar Disorder. I have notice that since I started taking Paxil I have gained 50 pounds and even with change in eating habits and exercise it is difficult to lose the weight. I have tried to get off Paxil only to suffer from withdrawals which are nasty. Nause, dizziness, vomiting, cold chills, shaking. Now, even when I forget to take it 1 day I experience these symptoms.
Avatar m tn Hi, I am a Registered Nurse and was taking 20mg Paxil daily. Due to health problems, I have been unable to work for 10 months and I have no insurance. And, because I am struggling financially, I couldn't afford to see a doctor to renew my prescription. I had to stop taking Paxil abruptly, 3 weeks ago. I have been suffering with numbness in my feet, finger tips, brain and face, and it is not getting any better.
Avatar f tn s when he told me i should take welbutrin and Paxil together for a few days and then once I feel better stop taking the paxil. That just doesn't sound right to me, you are going to feel better when you take something you're withdrawing from but get sick again once you stop. So right now I'm taking the wellbutrin 300 mg. I've been off paxil for a week, so the worst has passed. But i still feel horrible. Nausea, anxiety, poor appetite, diarrhea, dizzy.
Avatar n tn I had been on Effexor XR 75 mg for 6 years and Paxil 20 mg for 4 years. My liver enzymes (ALT 120) were elevated and both psychiatrist and primary doctor agreed to discontinue these drugs. I was tapered off each drug one at a time over a 6 week period plus my Straterra 60mg for ADHD. It has now been 3 weeks since no further meds. I experienced severe withdrawals including: vomiting (first 3 days), nausea (for abt.
Avatar f tn It still may not be a bad Idea to at least taper down to about 75 Mgs of Effexor before ramping up the Paxil and Welbuterin. Then after the Paxil and Welbuterine start to work then back down to 37.5 on the Effexor, then off it completly. Given that you are going to put Paxil and Welbutrine in place of the Effexor, your withdrawl from the Effexor should be much more tolerable then say, someone just stopping Effexor and not replacing it with another AD medication.
Avatar n tn I have been taking Paxil for 10 years for anxiety and depression and no longer feel it is effective. I do see a psychologist for depression but it is not totally controlled with counseling. My doctor has agreed to switch my medication. My concern is the withdrawal from Paxil.
Avatar f tn I thought being honest with all physicians, counselors, etc. would help to avoid substances which would lead me in the same direction; although my personal drug knowledge is similar to a pharmaceutical handbook, mixed with virtually every other down known to man, I'm hardly an expert on mood stabilizers, antidepressants and the lot. Anyway, more than 4 months ago I started seeing a counselor regularly to assist in my Suboxone treatment and the essential weaning off of the Suboxone.
Avatar m tn heart papitation, shacking all over the body, muscle twitches, not able to sleep, I got enought and i went back to regular doctor and gave me 10 mg generic Paxil and taled me that I am suffering for high anxiety ( common on i know that). After the first soe of medication i have a panic attact right away, afre all week of suffering i came back to my old doctor who described teh paxil in the begging . He changed the Paxil to CR 12.
Avatar f tn I was taking 25mg of Paxil and my doctor wanted me off of it. He told me to take a pill once every other day for 2 weeks then stop. It has been a week now and I am having dizziness and nausea. I have to work and I need some help. Any suggestions and can you tell me about how long these side effects will last?
1422233 tn?1282701102 I went to my doctor today because my anxiety is kind of bad again. He upped my dosage of Paxil from 40mg to 60mg & gave me a prescription for Klonopin. The Klonopin is only as needed but he had me take one tonight to see how it would affect me, that went fine. Now I am nervous about upping my dosage of Paxil tomorrow. I am going to take 40mg in the morning & 20mg in the afternoon, as that is what my Dr. suggested.
Avatar n tn I take paxil 25 cr now and it is working pretty good. My doc upped me to 37.5 and I noticed no difference either so went back down to 25 without a problem. I think as long as you are taking paxil going down on dose is not an issue, it's if you go off all at once but my son who is 14 and has just developed panic attacks was put on zoloft 50 mgs and it has helped him. I took zoloft first but gave me gastro problems so doc wanted me to switch.
Avatar f tn My husband and I are trying to have kids. We have been trying for only a few month, however, we are not young anymore (35) and I don't want to wait a year before consulting with a doctor (as it usually recommended). So here is my question: My husband has been taking paxil for the past 13 years (10mg). From the research online I found out that paxil changes sperm DNA that reduces permeability and as a result reduces the chance for pregnancy.
Avatar f tn I take these two meds, why?
Avatar f tn I agree with cj29. The slower the better. I was on 10 mg Paxil for 7 years for depression and anxiety. At the time I started taking it my husband and I were having heavy duty marriage problems, and I was not coping well at all. My kids were young also. It did help alot in the beginning, although I had side effects like night sweats, slight nausea, and sometimes felt groggy. After about 2 years my husband and I had come a long way in resoving our issues and I felt I probably could stop the Paxil.
Avatar f tn I just found this, and I wanted to make a comment on the chance there are anxiety sufferers who are also being treated for breast cancer. It make be a well know issue now, but when my wife began Tamoxifen treatment following her breast cancer surgery and radiation, I saw an article on TV regarding drug interaction between Paxil and Tamoxifen. We immediately mentioned it to my wife's oncologist, and he initially dismissed it and told my wife to continue to take the two drugs as prescribed.
Avatar n tn What happens if i find out im pregnant and am on Paxil? I hear that it is very bad to be on Paxil especially during the first trimester. I definately want to come off of it-but i cant do it cold turkey being that the withdrawal symptoms are pretty bad. If, in the past, i missed a dose-I would begin feeling very dizzy and nauseaus. Im sure this affect or worse wouldnt be good for the baby either. If I ween myself off slowly-im still taking Paxil in my system during the first trimester.
Avatar f tn He has never suffered from anxiety before. His shrink upped the Paxil to 20mg and gave him a low dose of xanax (0.25mg and later 0.5mg) to take as needed. He also takes clonozapan as needed, but both these drugs make him fuzzy or put him to sleep, so he can't function/work when he takes them. The past week has been horrendous. He wakes up terrified! Sweating, heart racing, crying, and terrified to leave the house.
1297968 tn?1272639250 Hello. Does anyone in this group take Paxil and crave alcohol? I do and never did before....I told my Dr. and he said Paxil doesn't cause alcohol cravings. He also wants to keep me on Paxil..I just want off it..
577118 tn?1233250750 I don't know if it's Paxil or the seizures. I didn't start having seizures until I was on Paxil for a little while, and I didn't have short term memory loss until after I started taking Paxil. It all correlates to the same time. I'm concerned because I have read other people having the same complaint about it. I am seeing a doctor this coming Monday, though, to find out for sure. I shouldn't have to be 22 years old with a worse memory than my grandmother.
Avatar m tn I have had anxiety and panic attacks since I was a child. It became severe in my early 20's and I was diagnosed with PTSD. I was treated with CBT which was successful for a few years. It became severe again in my early 30's and I was given clonazapam and Paxil (20mg). The first few years were fantastic and I quit avoiding many situations. I increased the Paxil to 30 mg about 4 years into the medicationas it did not seem to work well.
Avatar n tn I have an anxeity disorder that triggers OCD and Paxil has worked very very well and given me a great life since being on it. I figure I should try something different to see if it helps the weight gain and if Zoloft doesn't work, or help me to lose the weight then I will have to cut off the wine and go back on Paxil. Suffering from Anxiety *****, but I would take the weight gain over feeling freaky all the time!
Avatar m tn t heard much about doing it the other way around. And why Paxil and not Prozac or Lexapro? Lots of questions here. Sounds like your main problem, from the meds you're on, has been diagnosed as depression, not anxiety. True? If so, you might get better help on the depression forum.
Avatar f tn RA is that reacurring anxiety?? To answer your question only ur doctor will be able to say whether it will help YOU! but in theory it should help cause Paxil is used to control anxiety disorders as well as depression. 20 years to be on Paxil is a long time, you must of been put on the drug when it very first came onto the market. Also did you tapper off slowly or come off quick? it could be a rebound effect from not having the drug. Best to have a chat with your doc.
