Common Questions and Answers about Paxil and vision

paxil

Avatar f tn Why did you stop Paxil? As with any SSRI, it is not advised to just quit cold turkey; my suggestion is to taper off of it which would really help with many of your symptoms. Also, I assume you have a prescription for the Allegra as well, but you might want to be careful what you read on forums on the internet. I could type in 'cheeseburgers and paxil withdrawal" and probably get a taper schedule to follow.
Avatar m tn So I have been experiencing light headedness, vertigom, feeling like im going to faint, fast heart rate, and blurred vision in one eye. 429949 tn?1224691579 They switched me to Paxil six weeks before I had my first neurological attack of all the vision dysfunction.I stoped taking it and went back on Zoloft.
Avatar n tn Side effects of Lyrica including sleepiness, dizziness, blurry vision, weight gain, trouble concentrating, swelling of the hands and feet, and dry mouth. Lastly, Paxil can also be associated with weight gain. Again as stated before Wellbutrin has a lower incidence of weight gain . The average weight gain with paroxetine (Paxil®) for someone who weighs 150 pounds is about 5 pounds. Some people can gain much more.
Avatar n tn One of my doctors and I decided to take me off the Paxil and try Wellbutrin. My family doctor advised against it so know I am being weaned off the Paxil with "one of its sister drugs". I am having severe withdrawal: depression, sleepliss nights, headaches that mimic migraines, blurred vision, dizziness, irritable bowel, etc. The bowel problems alone make adhering to a specific schedule virtually impossible.
Avatar f tn I know that when I have missed my Paxil in the past, I feel like my head is on a spring and bounces around, and I get vision issues accompanied by Panic Attacks.... I am PRAYING that this will be a smooth transition, and that Zoloft relieves some of these horrible issues! I also went and bought Self Help Books on Anxiety/Panic and Agoraphobia....because I know that out thought processes make things much worse! Wish me luck, and I wish you all the luck in the world! Keep us posted!
Avatar n tn Tunnel vision durin Migrains. Left eye now has blurred peripheral vision and recently there is reduced hearing in left ear and sensation of pressure. Feelings of "zinging" or buzzing like an electrical shock that shoots backwards on the left side of head. A couple of times there was also dizziness. Constant fatigue is also felt. Confusion when headache is bad. Medication taken is propranolol 10mg 2x per day to help reduce migrain which does help. Male 46 years old.
Avatar m tn Not exactly dizzy or vertigo, although SOMEtimes I get dizzy spells, and some nausea. Also my vision is off, like it’s hard to focus on small print and it feels like my eyes want to jump to the next word or something. I feel spaced out sometimes. It has helped me with my anxiety a lot I’ve noticed I’m way more chill about things that made me panic before, but nowadays I feel so weird or loopy and tired. Could it be the Paxil? Will it go away eventually?
Avatar m tn Three days later, the headache began to be accompanied by blurred vision, fatigue, and a feeling of almost intoxication. I returned to my primary, who ordered an M.R.I. of my brain, which returned normal, thank God. My symptoms persisted and increased in number, however.
Avatar f tn and if it seem to make a difference with the serotonin and norepenphrine.. compared to just serotonin.. and did anyone else have headaches that affected there vision with depression??
Avatar n tn I was on Paxil for some time and my doctor said you can't go off it cold turkey. You really should talk to your MD about going off and the dosage reduction over a period of time.

Avatar n tn I’m suffering from Paxil withdrawals now. My car was totaled and I missed the appointment (forgot really) the drs never called just one who left a message about my bill. I’ve been dizzy, nauseous, throwing up, diarrhea, vivid dreams, weight loss and emotional. I’ve had to go to work this way due to being short staffed. I’m currently trying to wait it out. I’ve been living off soda crackers and 7 up.
701334 tn?1262853503 I gained alot of weight the first time and I thought it was from the paxil but it wasnt it was cuz i quit smoking at the same time i started the paxil. This drug really works for me the minute i feel like im going to cry i go take my medication and im fine. I never realized i was depressed but i did know I had alot of anxiety. I would give paxil a try but like everyone says each one works differently on each person. Good Luck!
Avatar m tn The last 2 months I have been experiencing dizzness and off balnce everyday it only gets better when i lay down , but it all started 3 months ago when my vision was a little weird and then the flollowing month i started to get pressure in my head and dizzness and off balance, i get numbess feeling on both of my thighs when laying down, my doctor sent me to get an MRI and the insurance didnt approve but they did approve CT scan but from what i have read the CT scans do not detect, im currently on
Avatar f tn The breast milk means something is going on with your prolactin levels, the blurred vision and headaches are side effects of a tumor. When a tumor presses on the pituitary, one, two, maybe even all 6 glands that are controlled by the pituitary gland can be affected. There are 6 glands that are controlled by the anterior pituitary, they are ACTH, TSH, HGH, FSH, LH and prolactin. Did your doctor check all these levels?
Avatar f tn but if the paxil does work will it take away all these sensations I am getting from the anxiety....my dizziness, nausea, blurry vision and headaches....I have had these for 5 years now daily and I mean daily....if it isnt going to take all these feelings away whats the use of taking it...Just hope these feeling will go away....I am afraid my mind will take over more than the medication....just hope i can get thru....thanks for the encouragement....
1693864 tn?1306282782 I went to a Counselor who suggested I try Paxil, after having taken an assessment test. My Doctor prescribed it and I have been on it since with only one 2 year period where the panic disorder seemed to go into remission, but it came back with a vengeance. I am now at 40mg a day. When i started Paxil, I weighed 195lbs and was in very good physical condition. Within two years of being on the paxil, I gained 50 lbs. Now, 15 years later, I am at 320.
Avatar n tn I take paxil 25 cr now and it is working pretty good. My doc upped me to 37.5 and I noticed no difference either so went back down to 25 without a problem. I think as long as you are taking paxil going down on dose is not an issue, it's if you go off all at once but my son who is 14 and has just developed panic attacks was put on zoloft 50 mgs and it has helped him. I took zoloft first but gave me gastro problems so doc wanted me to switch.
Avatar f tn My husband and I are trying to have kids. We have been trying for only a few month, however, we are not young anymore (35) and I don't want to wait a year before consulting with a doctor (as it usually recommended). So here is my question: My husband has been taking paxil for the past 13 years (10mg). From the research online I found out that paxil changes sperm DNA that reduces permeability and as a result reduces the chance for pregnancy.
Avatar f tn I take these two meds, why?
402739 tn?1203538358 m not hyperventilating in my sleep. as for the paxil, my boyfriends dad and my grandma both attempted suicide on paxil, so i'm averse to it. i want to treat this naturally, but i have no money and i cant afford a private specialist, or to be going all the time.
1491613 tn?1337630788 so she prescribed me paxil..40mg dose..and i trusted that ..shes doctor =) went home the next morning ..took my paxil..and an hour later i was sick as a dog..all my sypmtoms were worse..on top of naseau..dizziness..and feeling like i want to vomit ...so i went to the ER..the next dum doc tells me ohh maam you wouldnt feel the effects of that paxil for two weeks..?? really then why do i feel this way!?? lol...sooo this ER doc gives me klonopin to balance the paxil...so i took it..
Avatar f tn I just found this, and I wanted to make a comment on the chance there are anxiety sufferers who are also being treated for breast cancer. It make be a well know issue now, but when my wife began Tamoxifen treatment following her breast cancer surgery and radiation, I saw an article on TV regarding drug interaction between Paxil and Tamoxifen. We immediately mentioned it to my wife's oncologist, and he initially dismissed it and told my wife to continue to take the two drugs as prescribed.
Avatar n tn What happens if i find out im pregnant and am on Paxil? I hear that it is very bad to be on Paxil especially during the first trimester. I definately want to come off of it-but i cant do it cold turkey being that the withdrawal symptoms are pretty bad. If, in the past, i missed a dose-I would begin feeling very dizzy and nauseaus. Im sure this affect or worse wouldnt be good for the baby either. If I ween myself off slowly-im still taking Paxil in my system during the first trimester.
Avatar f tn He has never suffered from anxiety before. His shrink upped the Paxil to 20mg and gave him a low dose of xanax (0.25mg and later 0.5mg) to take as needed. He also takes clonozapan as needed, but both these drugs make him fuzzy or put him to sleep, so he can't function/work when he takes them. The past week has been horrendous. He wakes up terrified! Sweating, heart racing, crying, and terrified to leave the house.
