The first link above just basically gives reported interactions (to the FDA), and is more related to long-term use of both meds. The info can be more frightening if taken out of context, but it IS important to see what has been reported.
You would definitely want to work with your doctor to find an appropriate antiemetic that is okay to take with the Paxil. Zofran may be a better option.
All you need to do is google drug interactions. There are a few really good sites that you punch in your meds and it warns you of the interactions. Every drug has side effects.
Hi and welcome to the forum....well I was on methadone for 6 1//2yrs and also have bipolar disorder so taking antidepressants was a fact of life for me...I had good luck with celexa will taking methadone...very little side effects mixing the 2 together but all antidepressant are not the same...I agree with mr lucky on asking your dr he/she
should at least know your on the methadone...
It's not that you can't take aspirin at all. All ssris have a warning about interactions with all NSAIDS, not just aspirin. You just have to be aware of bruising that might indicate excessive bleeding. So you have to be careful. Don't know about food interactions, I wasn't told of any. Lots of weight gain possible, however, so watch the fat and sugar and be careful with diet. I think you're thinking more of the MAO inhibitors, they have lots of food contraditions.
It seemed like I had my anxiety under control with Bupropion and lamictal but never quite cleared up the depression. So now Paxil. It has been 10 days at 20 mg.
I did have a few headaches and have not had a libido in a while so I wont notice this.Just wondering aboun the increase in anxiety.

Rushed to hospital and surgery on both ankles. Then flew home on oxycodone and then to vicodin. Then, 8 months later, had a torn ligament in one of my ankles, and yes, another surgery. So I'm finally healed BUT now I still use one 5mg of hydrocodone a day. I have low depression, take Paxil, but have found that one pill, sometimes just half, give me incentive, otherwise I sleep and am sluggish. Had a active lifestyle, working, riding horses, and just before these accidents retired.
ive been on paxil for many years but have been getting bad attacks again so doc said stop paxil and take clonazepam but im getting bad withdrawals from the paxil.
Is there any interactions with Vicodin and the anesthetics doctors use for surgery? Will I cause any permanent damage to my brain or anything else in my body if the Vicodin and an anesthetic interact with each other? Have any of you taken Vicodin the day before a surgery?
Just fyi, I take Vicodin for something completely unrelated to my wisdom teeth.
I truly have arthritis too and am on only 3, 5mg vicodin a day. vicodin(hydrocodone) usually gives me nice dreams when i take my last pill at bedtime. but it does nothing to rid these extremely stressful paxil(paroxetine) withdrawal sleep nightmares.
I mean these dreams are so vivid and unlike scarry nightmares have too much to do with the reality of my bitter life.
I am afraid to go to sleep. I am exhausted and i have so much to get done this week.
Combining fluoxetine or paroxetine with phenytoin can also lead to increased phenytoin side effects and reduce blood levels of paroxetine.
You really need to discuss the potential drug interactions with your own doctor.

I was diagnosed with depression and panic attacks in 2000- started on paxil with good effect. Stopped 2 times but had to go back on paxil months later due to panic attacks returning along with depression. In 2005 I shifted to Efexor XR, 150 mg and realized I would be on these the rest of my life. This is ok because they work perfectly for me and have done so for the last 8 years.
This post was 6 years ago -- I would assume the person posting has moved on. But I did want to comment on some things you mention just so anyone else with an "active" filter sees this. Taking Paxil along with Prozac is very very dangerous. Don't try this at home, kids. While some people can handle this it can also cause serotonin syndrome, and Paxil is a very very strong med.
I had been on Effexor XR 75 mg for 6 years and Paxil 20 mg for 4 years. My liver enzymes (ALT 120) were elevated and both psychiatrist and primary doctor agreed to discontinue these drugs. I was tapered off each drug one at a time over a 6 week period plus my Straterra 60mg for ADHD. It has now been 3 weeks since no further meds. t just spouting off things, I just checked the drug interactions with Adderall and Paxil and Zoloft, and both were the same.
Coincidentally, just last week, she decided that she had had enough of the Effexor, and switched back to Paxil. She immediately began to experience the common "brain zaps", nausea and headaches felt when stopping Effexor, but the Paxil really helped to ease the severity of the symptoms. 10 days later, the brain zaps are gone, but the nausea and headaches continue, especially when her daily dose of Paxil is about due.
