Rushed to hospital and surgery on both ankles. Then flew home on oxycodone and then to vicodin. Then, 8 months later, had a torn ligament in one of my ankles, and yes, another surgery. So I'm finally healed BUT now I still use one 5mg of hydrocodone a day. I have low depression, take Paxil, but have found that one pill, sometimes just half, give me incentive, otherwise I sleep and am sluggish. Had a active lifestyle, working, riding horses, and just before these accidents retired.

I truly have arthritis too and am on only 3, 5mg vicodin a day. vicodin(hydrocodone) usually gives me nice dreams when i take my last pill at bedtime. but it does nothing to rid these extremely stressful paxil(paroxetine) withdrawal sleep nightmares. I mean these dreams are so vivid and unlike scarry nightmares have too much to do with the reality of my bitter life. I am afraid to go to sleep. I am exhausted and i have so much to get done this week.

Yes anxiety can cause headache and pressure. Feels like you head is gonna explode. Its one of my symptomes and I hate it. More than likely its due to you neck and shoulders tensed up which creates spasms. Trying to relax is easier said than done. My suggestion to you is get a massage, and continue going to your doctor to see if you can't ease you pain and anxiety.

Up until last year I was taking 150mg of zoloft and occasional xanax. Before that I was on a myriad of SSRIs and Paxil was one that made me gain 40lbs in about 3 months. Last fall I asked if I could try wellbutrin instead and get off of the zoloft. I didn't like the fact that my sex drive was decreased and I hadn't lost the weight I had gained from the paxil. That was when I began to develop a chronic pain issue.

I'm back again after 3 months of procrastinating. So it's almost 3 years on Vicodin was rx for neck pain. Was taking currently I'm taking 40 mg my script is for 30mg a day so the last few days on popping anything I can in order to not WD. I take paxil 25 cr now and it is working pretty good. My doc upped me to 37.5 and I noticed no difference either so went back down to 25 without a problem. I think as long as you are taking paxil going down on dose is not an issue, it's if you go off all at once but my son who is 14 and has just developed panic attacks was put on zoloft 50 mgs and it has helped him. I just found this, and I wanted to make a comment on the chance there are anxiety sufferers who are also being treated for breast cancer. It make be a well know issue now, but when my wife began Tamoxifen treatment following her breast cancer surgery and radiation, I saw an article on TV regarding drug interaction between Paxil and Tamoxifen. We immediately mentioned it to my wife's oncologist, and he initially dismissed it and told my wife to continue to take the two drugs as prescribed.

What happens if i find out im pregnant and am on Paxil? I hear that it is very bad to be on Paxil especially during the first trimester. I definately want to come off of it-but i cant do it cold turkey being that the withdrawal symptoms are pretty bad. If, in the past, i missed a dose-I would begin feeling very dizzy and nauseaus. Im sure this affect or worse wouldnt be good for the baby either. If I ween myself off slowly-im still taking Paxil in my system during the first trimester.

He has never suffered from anxiety before. His shrink upped the Paxil to 20mg and gave him a low dose of xanax (0.25mg and later 0.5mg) to take as needed. He also takes clonozapan as needed, but both these drugs make him fuzzy or put him to sleep, so he can't function/work when he takes them. The past week has been horrendous. He wakes up terrified! Sweating, heart racing, crying, and terrified to leave the house.

Hello. Does anyone in this group take Paxil and crave alcohol? I do and never did before....I told my Dr. and he said Paxil doesn't cause alcohol cravings. He also wants to keep me on Paxil..I just want off it..

I don't know if it's Paxil or the seizures. I didn't start having seizures until I was on Paxil for a little while, and I didn't have short term memory loss until after I started taking Paxil. It all correlates to the same time. I'm concerned because I have read other people having the same complaint about it. I am seeing a doctor this coming Monday, though, to find out for sure. I shouldn't have to be 22 years old with a worse memory than my grandmother.

I have an anxeity disorder that triggers OCD and Paxil has worked very very well and given me a great life since being on it. I figure I should try something different to see if it helps the weight gain and if Zoloft doesn't work, or help me to lose the weight then I will have to cut off the wine and go back on Paxil. Suffering from Anxiety *****, but I would take the weight gain over feeling freaky all the time!

t heard much about doing it the other way around. And why Paxil and not Prozac or Lexapro? Lots of questions here. Sounds like your main problem, from the meds you're on, has been diagnosed as depression, not anxiety. True? If so, you might get better help on the depression forum.

RA is that reacurring anxiety?? To answer your question only ur doctor will be able to say whether it will help YOU! but in theory it should help cause Paxil is used to control anxiety disorders as well as depression. 20 years to be on Paxil is a long time, you must of been put on the drug when it very first came onto the market. Also did you tapper off slowly or come off quick? it could be a rebound effect from not having the drug. Best to have a chat with your doc.

I did some basic Google searching, and the Paxil website does list sweating, dizziness and nervousness as possible side effects, so perhaps you were just suffering Paxil effects, not blood-sugar effects. If you want to go back on the Paxil for the vertigo, ask your specialist about these side effects and your pre-diabetes state. Only he/she would be qualified to properly figure that out. I was on Paxil for a few months and came off and experienced massive withdrawal, worse then my previous Loratab addiction. I came off cold turkey but immediately switched to Zoloft. I was on a high dose of Paxil. The only ache I had was a massive headache 24/7. Massive!! I went back on Paxil for two weeks and I'm off again but it's odd that I have no headache but I have the most horrible back pain. I never had this before starting Paxil.

I do not know if michael has taken Paxil, but i did take it for over 8 years and let me tell you paxil put me through hell and one of the side effects was heart palpittions.There are many side effects from paxil that many people are not aware of. SO do your research. There are so many great web sites out there, one is paxilprogress.

I've been on Paxil for 10 years off and on and for almost two years straight now. I've noticed marked fatigue right after I take my medication for the last month or so and I'm wondering whats up. I can't see my doctor for two months. Has anyone had a common occurence?

I thought i was on zoloft with the paxil...but my doctor checked and it is paxil and wellbutrin...been on both since Sept. he decided the paxil alone wasn't working and added wellbutrin...but to me i do have the symptons as if i were on zoloft which the dr. said i wasn't...nurse didn't call me back after she got it straight with the dr. that i am on paxil and wellbutrin...maybe tomorrow. if not i will check with the pharmacy. thanks so much for caring.
