Paxil and tiredness

Common Questions and Answers about Paxil and tiredness

paxil

Avatar m tn Day 5 since I upped my Lexapro to 20mgs per doctor and seems like I have had an increase in tiredness and anxiety? Is this normal for any dosage change? Dang, I had a pretty good weekend.
Avatar n tn m not big on side effects and all that. I have been taking paxil for 4 days now and on day two I realized that I was yawning so much that my jaw was starting to hurt (yawn) I cant stop. Im really really tired and the yawning is getting quite annoying. Is this normal and when does It usually stop? Im also obese weighing in at 257.4 lbs with only a 5'2" height. I heard alot about paxil making you gain weight. I dont want that. Im trying to become healthy.
4981427 tn?1371670469 These two meds are different though and your body is used to Zoloft. I took Paxil myself and did very well on it. It only took a few days for it to start working for me. Hang in there, okay. Let your Dr know if you are still feeling really anxious after a few days. I do think you will be feeling better soon though.
Avatar m tn I have been dealing with anxiety for the past 15 yrs medically just before I started high school. I had it pop it's ugly head out a couple times throughout childhood. For the most part everything was stable until 2009 when I experienced massive anxiety, fear, nausea, tiredness, you name it. It lasted about 5 months up until I found a job that kept me busy enough to not worry about anxiety. I attribute the anxiety in 2009 to my parents marital problems, being in grad school, and not working.
Avatar f tn When you took it did you feel any side effects...like tiredness or confusion etc like the normal anti-anxiety pills make you feel? Also Paxil would this cause depression to come through to do think? and can you take this while on other med's?
Avatar m tn And took the zoloft in the morning instead. BUT, i have been groggy, and plain sleepy and out of it all day. Could this be the zoloft making me tired in the morning? But yet keeping me from sleeping? Has anyone else experienced the fear of sleeping on zoloft, if so what did you do? Mr Dr told me to stop caffiene, but i dont anymore anyways. Need help with this, its already getting very upsetting. Thanks!
Avatar n tn the tiredness from the meds or the anxiety and panic. Have you and your doctor discussed possibly an anti-depressant instead or in combo with a lower dose of the xanax? Also, I am not sure, (I am not a doctor by no means) possibly changing your meds to something like klonopin? It lasts longer in your system and does not have to be taken as often. I know that anxiety is such a difficult thing to suffer with. I have been suffering with it since the mid 90's.
Avatar n tn Didnt find any benifits, from any of except , paxil, i liked but the fatigue and sleepyness was unbearable that never seemed to go away after a few mnths 3 mnths i stoped. Im currently about to try doxepin, but heard that this is another one that makes u very sleepy. But is it possible that this can go away? I willing to gut it out for a few weeks.
Avatar f tn My psychiatrist gave me a prescription for paxil, just 10 mg to start -- I took it for about 2 weeks but felt like it was causing more anxiety instead of taking it away (along with the other initial symptoms of tiredness and nauesea), so I stopped taking it. Off it for about a week, then I thought maybe I did feel slightly better emotionally when I was taking it - so I went back on it for about a week or two. Then I stopped again because of the anxiety AND the sexual side effects.
Avatar f tn I am on my 6th week of paxil 10mg and I cant tell its done anything for me except to make me feel so tired and weak....I cant do nothing but lay around all day....I try but just dont have any energy.....I am going back to my PA this week to see what she says and she will probably want to increase it to 20mgs..is this giong to make me feel more fatigued and weak....and I dont want to go thru all the side effects I went thru the first 2 weeks....I just dont know to get off of it or keep going....
Avatar n tn I take paxil 25 cr now and it is working pretty good. My doc upped me to 37.5 and I noticed no difference either so went back down to 25 without a problem. I think as long as you are taking paxil going down on dose is not an issue, it's if you go off all at once but my son who is 14 and has just developed panic attacks was put on zoloft 50 mgs and it has helped him. I took zoloft first but gave me gastro problems so doc wanted me to switch.
Avatar f tn My husband and I are trying to have kids. We have been trying for only a few month, however, we are not young anymore (35) and I don't want to wait a year before consulting with a doctor (as it usually recommended). So here is my question: My husband has been taking paxil for the past 13 years (10mg). From the research online I found out that paxil changes sperm DNA that reduces permeability and as a result reduces the chance for pregnancy.
Avatar f tn I take these two meds, why?
763297 tn?1281379425 In fact I used paxil to quit smoking. Xanax and paxil together may be your issue. Check with your pharmacist about the combination of them together. I take paxil at night before I go to bed. The tiredness was bad in the beginning but not so much now. I have noticed when I forgot to take a pill or two, the anger and edginess would show up. If going off of these, you must do it slowly. And with the help of a physician or you will be in wd's in a few days, as you know.
Avatar f tn going to try and make a switch....any suggestions??? i tried celexa, but had stopped the paxil cold turkey and just did the switch..and from meeting my physc last week she said no no..no wonder i couldnt handle it. im just curious what else i can take for severe anxiety.
Avatar f tn i understand that it is much harder to get off paxil if i stay on that. i see dr. tomorrow and i want to stay on effexor and klonopin. paxil scares me. eventually maybe in 6 mos i will be healthy and past smoking and i dont want to be stuck on meds for years. had dep 7 yrs ago but not panic attacks. am drinking lots of water.
Avatar f tn I just found this, and I wanted to make a comment on the chance there are anxiety sufferers who are also being treated for breast cancer. It make be a well know issue now, but when my wife began Tamoxifen treatment following her breast cancer surgery and radiation, I saw an article on TV regarding drug interaction between Paxil and Tamoxifen. We immediately mentioned it to my wife's oncologist, and he initially dismissed it and told my wife to continue to take the two drugs as prescribed.
Avatar n tn What happens if i find out im pregnant and am on Paxil? I hear that it is very bad to be on Paxil especially during the first trimester. I definately want to come off of it-but i cant do it cold turkey being that the withdrawal symptoms are pretty bad. If, in the past, i missed a dose-I would begin feeling very dizzy and nauseaus. Im sure this affect or worse wouldnt be good for the baby either. If I ween myself off slowly-im still taking Paxil in my system during the first trimester.
Avatar f tn He has never suffered from anxiety before. His shrink upped the Paxil to 20mg and gave him a low dose of xanax (0.25mg and later 0.5mg) to take as needed. He also takes clonozapan as needed, but both these drugs make him fuzzy or put him to sleep, so he can't function/work when he takes them. The past week has been horrendous. He wakes up terrified! Sweating, heart racing, crying, and terrified to leave the house.
1297968 tn?1272639250 Hello. Does anyone in this group take Paxil and crave alcohol? I do and never did before....I told my Dr. and he said Paxil doesn't cause alcohol cravings. He also wants to keep me on Paxil..I just want off it..
577118 tn?1233250750 I don't know if it's Paxil or the seizures. I didn't start having seizures until I was on Paxil for a little while, and I didn't have short term memory loss until after I started taking Paxil. It all correlates to the same time. I'm concerned because I have read other people having the same complaint about it. I am seeing a doctor this coming Monday, though, to find out for sure. I shouldn't have to be 22 years old with a worse memory than my grandmother.
Avatar n tn I have an anxeity disorder that triggers OCD and Paxil has worked very very well and given me a great life since being on it. I figure I should try something different to see if it helps the weight gain and if Zoloft doesn't work, or help me to lose the weight then I will have to cut off the wine and go back on Paxil. Suffering from Anxiety *****, but I would take the weight gain over feeling freaky all the time!
Avatar m tn t heard much about doing it the other way around. And why Paxil and not Prozac or Lexapro? Lots of questions here. Sounds like your main problem, from the meds you're on, has been diagnosed as depression, not anxiety. True? If so, you might get better help on the depression forum.
Avatar f tn RA is that reacurring anxiety?? To answer your question only ur doctor will be able to say whether it will help YOU! but in theory it should help cause Paxil is used to control anxiety disorders as well as depression. 20 years to be on Paxil is a long time, you must of been put on the drug when it very first came onto the market. Also did you tapper off slowly or come off quick? it could be a rebound effect from not having the drug. Best to have a chat with your doc.
Avatar n tn I did some basic Google searching, and the Paxil website does list sweating, dizziness and nervousness as possible side effects, so perhaps you were just suffering Paxil effects, not blood-sugar effects. If you want to go back on the Paxil for the vertigo, ask your specialist about these side effects and your pre-diabetes state. Only he/she would be qualified to properly figure that out. Good luck with it all.
Avatar n tn I was on Paxil for a few months and came off and experienced massive withdrawal, worse then my previous Loratab addiction. I came off cold turkey but immediately switched to Zoloft. I was on a high dose of Paxil. The only ache I had was a massive headache 24/7. Massive!! I went back on Paxil for two weeks and I'm off again but it's odd that I have no headache but I have the most horrible back pain. I never had this before starting Paxil.
