paxil and sleep

My shrink put me on Paxil (antidepressant) and Ambien (sleep pill) and Klonopin (anxiety). I was weaned off Ambien after 6 mos. but kept on Paxil and Klonopin (as needed). These really helped me through. But be careful on Paxil , because it is very hard to wean off. Talk to your psychiatrist and see what's best for you. Any antidepressant will have side effects.

I take a whole pill of buspar when i wake up in the morning and i take a pill of paxil and another whole pill of buspar at about 10ish..

He has never suffered from anxiety before. His shrink upped the Paxil to 20mg and gave him a low dose of xanax (0.25mg and later 0.5mg) to take as needed. He also takes clonozapan as needed, but both these drugs make him fuzzy or put him to sleep, so he can't function/work when he takes them. The past week has been horrendous. He wakes up terrified! Sweating, heart racing, crying, and terrified to leave the house.

Is it safe to take both? I take the Zoloft during the day and Paxil at night because I noticed it helps me sleep.

I was on Paxil for a few months and came off and experienced massive withdrawal, worse then my previous Loratab addiction. I came off cold turkey but immediately switched to Zoloft. I was on a high dose of Paxil. The only ache I had was a massive headache 24/7. Massive!! I went back on Paxil for two weeks and I'm off again but it's odd that I have no headache but I have the most horrible back pain. I never had this before starting Paxil.

I did some basic Google searching, and the Paxil website does list sweating, dizziness and nervousness as possible side effects, so perhaps you were just suffering Paxil effects, not blood-sugar effects. If you want to go back on the Paxil for the vertigo, ask your specialist about these side effects and your pre-diabetes state. Only he/she would be qualified to properly figure that out. It has been 4 months know but I am not able to sleep having bad hot flashes should I try and find a Dr. and go back on it? My biggest concern is I can't sleep will this get better in time? I'm just feel lost and not sure what the right answer is there any thing you can advise for me I really just want to get a good night sleep.

I am now off Paxil for 1.5 months and my anxiety is coming back, and havent lost any of the weight either. I need to go back on Paxil but need to find a way to battle the weight gain. I have heard combining Wellbutrin can help with maintaining but I have read more success stories with Topamax.

What are you doing before bed? Maybe try listening to some guided meditation to put you into a sound sleep. I take Paxil and xanax as needed for my PA's. I very rarely get them while sleeping but some nights i am so wound up I am anxious and have problems falling asleep. meditation does help me.

I read up about both but am wondering if weight gain is a problem with zoloft. As for paxil i gained over 25 pounds and now Im trying to lose it and it sure isnt easy. I found out you don't take zoloft at night but paxil you do. I have got to lose this weight.

Hi there, I suffer of anxiety attacks and this was increasing my blood pressure very high, I went to see a cardiologist and he gave me XANAX for anxiety cause I wanted to know if this was the main cause of my high blood pressure episodes... At the same time my General Doctor gave me PAXIL for the same thing, telling me that this med was less addictive and will help me for panic attacks and anxiety long term.

25 once a day every so many days just to get some relief, but I try to skip days so as not to get dependant on it. Well yesterday was real bad, horrible anxiety and racing thoughts, etc. I could not sleep and finally decided to try the Klonopin wafers the DR gave me (.25). I took one around 1:45am last night. If your still gaining weight try some moderate strength training, because muscle eats more fat when its hungry. Get 8 hours of sleep and drink plenty of water. If your still gaining weight and you care so much then keep a calorie journal and reduce your calories by 10%. Idf your still gaining weight keep track of how much weight you gain per week and adjust your caloric intake as needed.

I ran out about 5 days ago. As has happened in the past after quitting Paxil my sleep is interrupted with such stressful nightmares. I mean I wake up and I am either screaming and my heart rate goes sky high. I am a about 3 days from when i can get another refill. Over the past several months I have begun to experience sleep issues. I stay up late (2am to 3am) and sleep late the next day, some times for 10 to 11 hours. I take lexapro. And the 1st week or so, I was having night sweats. Some of it may have been anxiety in my sleep. But yes, AD's can def make you sweat alot. Research Paxil Sweats on google. Sleep study also showed no REM sleep. I take paxil for anxiety, wellbutrin for mood and energy, and clonidine. Sleep doc wants me off paxil b/c of its effect on REM sleep. Could I take trazodone for anxiety with the wellbutrin? Or something else for anxiety that doesn't affect rem sleep?

I am 23 years old and currently on Paxil 20mg a day for depression, OCD, and anxiety/panic disorder. I have always had a problem with anxiety...but the depression has been in the past three years and the OCD more recently. I have a good friend who has been on Paxil for years and she takes a Klonopin every night for sleep. Ask your doc if you can try something else. Let me know how you are doing. I hated that not being able to sleep feeling.
