Same symtoms got worse and worse. Io thought it was withdrawls from paxil but I think it was that and serotonin syndrome. Muscles are so weak now and stomach so upset and burning and in knots. I told the doctor I'm not doing well and he suggested I go back down to 10 mg still have major issues. I was wondering if the serotonin will level out eventually or did it damage my nervous system permanently? I know I can't stop the lex cold turkey I've been on it for a total of 3wks now.

I have also experience this syndrome when 1st starting paxil, My dr wanted me to switch from zoloft to zoloft but wanted me to wean off and had me start the paxil at 10mg. No. This is theoretical, but it could cause serotonin syndrome, and you don't want that. Besides, the Paxil's a whole lot stronger -- that makes it possibly work better, and also accounts for the side effects, but that's how it is.

My dr. After 10 years changes me from Paxil to Zoloft. I immediately was having withdrawal. Called him and he said to take a Paxil, I did he called me in a new script. But now I'm taking 40 mg Paxil and 100 mg Zoloft. Did he mean to just take one pill or or keep taking my Paxil. I'm not so sure. I felt horrible today threw up after waking up way to late. Very dizzy lightheaded. Balance issues. Bad headache.....this is day 4 I've been on both meds. Anyone have any advice?

I recently have had an unbearable increase in my anxiety. I went to the doc and he prescribe Paxil and Buspar. 20 mg Paxil once a day and Bupsar 3x's a day @ 10 mg each. my daughter is very anxious so the dr put her on both the cymbalta 30 mg with the paxil of 20 for one week and then 15 paxel for another week and then 10 paxil and increase to 60 cymbalta. she had a brain trauma in a car accident and has to deal with alot so is this too much. she had a seizure on the ultram but she took too many at one time for a headache..

I have been on savella for 3 months, I get good and bad from it. It does help with fibro pain, But do not like the side affects from it. About a month after starting savella I started getting jerking when lying down then found out savella and paxil don't mix droped my saratonin levels. I'm confused -- are you saying that you're on Effexor and Zoloft and Paxil at the same time? Or Prozac and Paxil at the same time? You can't do that unless you've tapered down slowly off the Paxil -- you can't take two drugs that target serotonin at the same time if you're still at a medicinal dose of the first one.

i am currently on 10mg/day of Generic Paxil for anxiety, depression, and OCD. i wish to supplement with 5-HTP, SAMe, GABA, and inositol. should i wean myself off paxil first? if so, how should i do that? or can i combine the Paxil with 1 or more of these supplemtns at the same time? if so, how should i do that? could i take Paxil 1 day, then supplements the next day (w/o Paxil), etc.

Hello and welcome! The way your friend is taking her meds is pretty much useless. You need to explain to her that those meds must be given an opportunity to build up in the system, in order to make the proper changes in the chemistry of the brain...to be effective. Taking the meds here and there could potentially worsen her emotional state. I'm also kind of shocked to hear that she is taking both Zoloft and Paxil? I'm willing to bet that they were prescribed at different times?

So again, were you diagnosed as having serotonin syndrome? And sex and exercise have nothing to do with this, serotonin syndrome usually occurs when someone mixes different drugs that target serotonin receptors, which to my knowledge Robitussin does not.

I dont want to cause any more problems for myself by staying on it but evidently I lack serotonin and the paxil replaces it. Any info that you might give me would be greatly appreciated.

Has anyone used Remeron for depression, while taking Maxalt for their migraines? I have migraines about every other day, and take 5mg maxalt for them. I was just given Remeron for depression, as the doc said i cannot take any SSRI's because of serotonin syndrome. I cannot find and interactions for Remeron, but just wondering if anyone else has tried these together. Any info appreciated.
