paxil and seroquel

I have had anxiety and panic attacks since I was a child. It became severe in my early 20's and I was diagnosed with PTSD. I was treated with CBT which was successful for a few years. It became severe again in my early 30's and I was given clonazapam and Paxil (20mg). The first few years were fantastic and I quit avoiding many situations. I increased the Paxil to 30 mg about 4 years into the medicationas it did not seem to work well.

Thanks for your support and response. I was treated from the ages of about 13 to 19 for social anxiety disorder with paxil. I have no family history of neurological problems. I have been taking lexapro since it was prescribed to me initially at a start dose of 10 mg tapered up to 30. Recently, my psychiatrist has added seroquel at 100 mg twice a day. It should be noted that i stopped taking paxil on my own about 4 years ago.

I also am bipolar depressive and was on Effexor, which pooped, then Paxil and 600mg Seroquel. I went from 130 to 180 in 6 months and was having ongoing panic attacks. Day and night for an entire year. I'll tell you what made the panic attacks and depression go away. I quit antidepressants and sloooooly tapered off the seroquel. It was remarkable. The antidepressants were making me crazy. The awful anxiety slowly got better, although not all the way.

so ive been on seroquel for only like a week now. 25 mg and my ob doc called today and said she does not want me on this med. Im so confused. her reasoning makes sense though. having been my ob and family practitioner for 2 years she knows that normally durring my pregnancy i am very level and have never shown any signs of hypomania. So her thoughts are that i should be re evaluated after my pregnancy.

does anyone have info about long term use of seroquel and how it affects you? my hubby tried to stop taking it and got all messed up. they are 50mg xr. thanks.

gave me a sample pack of 16 50 mg. of Seroquel and a small amount of Valium. In the past 10-15 yrs. I have been prescribed Paxil,Zyprexa,Effexor,Cymbalta, Prozac, Wellbutrin, Lexapro,Celexa, Zoloft, and probably something I have forgotton. These anti-depressants did little or nothing other than lighten my wallet. To be honest,the best results that I have experienced has been taking self injections of testosterone. I am male,55 yrs. old and found that my testosterone levels were very low.

I suferred from gad and panic desorder. I'm on zoloft 175mg, clonopin 1mg 3 times a day, seroquel 100mg to go to sleep and 25 mg twice a day, however, I don't take the seroquel morning dose because it makes me too sleepy. I'm desperate trying to find out why I'm still having anxiety and the ton of meds are not working. I was on disability for two months and just went back to work. I've been constantly crying and being anxious. I don't know what to do.

I actually just had a related converasation with my Psychiatrist about Wellbutrin and Paxil. We were just talking about anti-depressants, and he mentioned that Paxil (and other similar ADs) are more likely to send someone manic than Wellbutrin. Those weren't his exact words, but rather my take on what he said to me about the comparison. Good luck.

Have you seen a psychologist first? Paxil can be a tough drug for side effects and for withdrawal, and seroquel doesn't seem like an appropriate drug of first resort for you. Since your symptoms don't seem to be super severe, why not try therapy for awhile? Use meds as a last resort, not a first. They all have their own problems, so if you can get some help through therapy, maybe meditation as well, all the better.

I am 54 yrs old now and I weight 200lbs, am on Lithium 900mg and Seroquel 300 mg and Paxil. All my doctors have denied weight gain from the medications and I do not understand that. This stuff just comes on like majic. When I started the Seroquel I immediately gained 20 lbs. YIKES!!! I admit I do not exercise like I used to before I was diagnosed. I am lucky to eat one meal a;day. Just not hungery. I am sure if I got on some exercise plan along with better eatting I could work my *** off.

) i am also on Klonopin for anxiety attacks and Seroquel for sleep, i know that Seroquel is an anti-psychotic, but i take it for sleep because it's the only thing that works. anyways, after all the side effects, i went back up to 20mg of Paxil. and down to a 25mg and a half of a 25mg Lamictal for a week, then to just a 25mg for a week, today is my first day on just one half of a 25mg.

Hi everyone, I saw my psychiatrist yesterday, my 3rd session with him, and he has now told me I have Bipolar I. It wasn't a shock, I was expecting it, and I am actually not too bummed about it because at least now I know what is wrong with me. He told me I meet all the signs & criteria for this & because I have had several severe manic episodes which have severely affected my life at times.

i ve been on many AD prozac paxil zoloft effexor cymbalta and savella none of them worked so my pdoc put me on seroquel 600 mg and lexapro 20 mg and wellbutrin 450 mg i started feeling a little better .......but when should i feel the full effects?

I am in a relationship with someone who has depression/general anxiety/social anxiety/bipolar type I, which are under control by taking Paxil (37mg/day) and Seroquel (150mg/night). He's usually very happy, especially around me. Lately I have noticed that he looks at me and acts like he is in love, but can't say it. I'm doubting he can even feel it, based on what I've read and how he's said the meds affect him.

I have been on and off Paxil for 5 years now. I started on CR low dose, now at 30mg no cr. My body is used to it... and it doesnt help me very much anymore-although it is better than being with out any medication at all. Soon I will be getting re-evaluated and I know they're going to ask me to wean off it. I am really scared, because I know the few times I have lapsed in dose, it has been absolutely horrible. Any advice? Any info? Everything I find online is abstract and not really helpful.

thank you for your post do you know anyone taking this med how is it suspose to make me feel. i had to go off the seroquel and abilify. i could'nt sleep for 3 nights so now i'm on lunstra 3mg and trazadone 100mg. i feel lousy. and because i had meds dropped and new ones added i don't know what's making me feel down, the going off or going on.

Lithium and Seroquel together have made the best I have ever been, found risperdal wasn't good for me it gave me bad insomnia. Seroquel is the opposite and makes me sleep but i like that as i think sleep is good for your health rather than insomnia. I am still looking for that pill which makes me back to normal though. I would ask your doctor why he don't want you on seroquel and tell him/her that it has really helped you.

so i was diagnosed with bipolar 2 disorder a little over a month ago and have been taking seroquel which made me worse than ever and it has been my family doctors recomendation to fire the psychiatrist and stop taking the seroquel and get back on an ssri medication. has anyone had this happen? my psychiatrist seemed very uneducated but most importantly would not listen to me about how this medication was affecting my body and just kept telling me to take more and more... Im confused.

should i take a chance and call physician on call? would they give me paxil at the ER? i dread going to mental health crisis because i fear they might make me an inpatient against my will. in a mental health inpatient unit thats when the hell really starts. these stupid shrinks thinks everyone that is admitted must be put on a torture drug, i.e. an antipsychotic(neuroleptic). those drugs should not even be given to crazy people they are so inhumane.

i understand you have two problems, one is weight gain and the other is to get out of bed. i take seroquel too 50mg small dose compared to others, still i have a little of weight gain but mainly from my 1mg risperisone. now for the 1st, Alex described a super regime to follow. as for anxiety and getting out of bed i.e.

My ex took my eleven year old daughter to the doctor basically to cover her butt for not taking her to school, and the doctor said she had bipolar disorder and prescribed her klonopin, paxil, and seroquel. Alot of friends and family I know are thinking that is alot of medicine for an eleven year old and it could be doing more harm than good. I want to know if that is normal for an eleven year old to be prescribed that.

I'm on Cipralex 15mg for anxiety and depression and Seroquel 20mg at night for insomnia. I've been on remeron/mirtazapine before and had no sexual disfunction issues, however I haven't had the interest in sex/intimacy or ability to orgasm since a month prior to getting on the meds. I just started taking Wellbutrin XL 150mg because I'm told it should help with the sexual disfunction. How long until I notice a difference? Do you think I'm on too many medications?

For instance seroquel is 25mg is enough for me and active. My lamictal was 2mg infantile and was working well until i had seizure with paxil. So each time i take a new drug i never reacvh what is called a therapeutic level. Why should i, if already my therapeutic level is so low instead of ruining my liver,... Could this apply to lithium as well, i.e.

5mg of Effexor ER, 200mg of Lamictal, 60 mg of Buspar, 1200 mg of Neurontin, 600mg of Seroquel and .5 mg of Xanax ER as needed. I feel better than I ever had in my life, but the only problem I have now is excessive weight gain--about 30 lbs. I am currently 5'7 and 188 lbs. I want to get my weight down to 160 lbs. As a New Year's resolution I have been working out between 30-60 minutes 5 days a week combining cardio and weight training.

I would imagine they will take you off it once you make your switch over from one tablet to the other. In other words you won't be on it that long. So don't worry yourself. I've been hooked once before on xanax and no doubt some day I will have to come off this too. I will face that problem when the day arrives.

It got so bad that I went to see a psychiatrist and he put me on 10mg of paxil daily for anxiety and I take xanax as needed and ambien for sleep as well. I have never been on any meds before and I am an anxious person but never to this degree. A few ppl have started to notice the blinking more as well- I was at a party the othe nite and a girl asked me if I wore contacts. I said no -She said that she figured I did bec I was blinking so much.
