Paxil and oxycodone

Common Questions and Answers about Paxil and oxycodone

paxil

However, this effect does not last and anxiety and depression are often made worse. If your wife was prescribed Paxil, I am guessing she has been diagnosed with anxiety or depression. Drinking would counteract any help the Paxil will give, as well as possibl worsen her condition. Taking Oxycontin along with alcohol is very dangerous. If your wife is bingeing on alcohol, she runs the risk of an overdose.
Depression is very normal. However, I have heard and gone through Paxil and that it can cause the opposite affect. It can make depression worse, and if you miss a dose you can see the difference right away. I did alot of research on paxil and worked in Doctors offices and have seen several cases of Paxil causes more harm than good. Don't get me wrong for some people Paxil is great and for others it is bad. The Dr. I worked for had a couple patients that developed an additive reaction to paxil.
Hi everyone! This is my 4th night without Oxycodone and I am miserable! I have been feeling so, so, so depressed the last few days that I don't know where to turn! Did any of you feel that way after you stopped taking a narcotic? I only have been taking them since December of 2006 and only at around 9:00pm every night. I would get at least 5 or 6 Oxycodone 5mg. in me to have that "good" feeling. After I put my 4 year old son to bed I started taking them. My marriage sucks bad.
I am convinced and have a strong desire to stop taking the oxycodone, because I am convinced it is killing me and my relationship with my wife and friends. I have decided to quit cold turkey and have taken my last pill at 3pm est today~! I was hoping for some feedback and support over the next couple of days. The last time I tried it I made it 48hrs but once I started getting uncontrollable RLS, insomnia, and puking I gave in.
With the controlled release of the med I'm taking now, things seem to be on an even keel compared to the abrupt ups and downs of the shorter acting narcotics like hydrocodone and oxycodone. As I've said time and again, all I want is a state of equilibrium in my life where everything seems to be safe and secure....and pain free! I suppose that's a lot to ask for as a human being? Somebody said above that they went fifteen years in hell before discovering a med that offered some relief.
Has anyone gone thru quitting oxycodone on their own? And what can we do to help alleviate the pain and withdrawl symptoms? Please, if anyone can offer any suggestions i would tremendously appreciate it. Thank you so much in advance. I end up in tear just thinking about how awful this weekend is gonna be. Im so scared. Im taking friday- monday off of work and have to be back at work by Tuesday ...
I was on oxycodone for 5 years, I quit taking oxy and suboxone with no withdrawls.
I've heard zoloft is one of the safest drugs to take during pregnancy so I wouldn't worry too much about that but I'm not sure about oxycodone, if you haven't discussed this with your Doctor then you should but don't stress out too much because stress can be just as bad for the baby as medications if not worse. You should research oxycodone and pregnancy and see what it brings up and maybe you should meet with a neonatologist as well.
Hi, i was wondering if anyone knew the differences between Oxycodone and Tylenol w/Codeine?? I know they both have acetomenophen. But, the Tylenol with Codeine has Codeine obviously. I was taking the one with 30mg. of codeine. Now I have Oxycodone 7.5-325. What is the opiad in this drug? Is it also codeine, or a different drug? I know my body's reaction to the T3, so I am a little nervous to try this new one....oxycodone. Is it stronger, not as strong, the same???
I tolerated that and I am supposed to try paxil again... was to start 3 weeks ago but honestly I am apprehensive as I feel I am just now stabilizing after zoloft and busporin 6 weeks ago. Hepatologist says she won't treat me without anti-depressant first. Actually it seems I tolerate all of my meds less now a days. Once I get my mind around it I will try Paxil soon. I must take triple therapy in Febuary. Got to get my mind around that as well.
Everything is fine until they go into deep sleep, when all the muscles (including the throat and tongue muscles) relax, and the tongue falls back and obstructs breathing. At this point, one of three things can happen: 1. You can wake up immediately to light sleep or completely awake, wondering why they are suddenly awake, 2. You can stop breathing for 1-9 seconds and then wake up to light sleep or completely awake, choking, coughing or gasping for air, with your heart pounding, or 3.
I think you would best be served by calling your local pharmacist and asking him/her these questions. You're on quite a "stew" of meds and you need to talk to someone who knows about the interactions. I will say that I don't understand your p-docs "preference" that you don't take an Ativan when you are having a really major anxiety attack.
i told her how i have anxiety and panick attacks..and how i have anxiety almost 4 out of 5 times and panick twice a week...so she prescribed me paxil..40mg dose..and i trusted that ..shes doctor =) went home the next morning ..took my paxil..and an hour later i was sick as a dog..all my sypmtoms were worse..on top of naseau..dizzyness..and feeling like i want to vomit or gag...so i went to the ER..the next dum doc tells me ohh maam you wouldnt feel the effects of that paxil for two weeks..??
I am becoming somewhat frustrated with the way a lot of my colleagues practice medicine. Disenchanted, angry would be the other words that could be used. We all get ostensibly that same training and all of us are supposedly in it to help our patients. So, how come have I been getting so many letters lately on my addiction forum from desperate people unable to quit taking the tramadol pills that their own kind doctors have so freely prescribed for them?
Aren't there any antidepressants/anti-anxiety drugs that are safe non-stimulants? I've tried them all, starting with Paxil and Prozac, but something changed after I had babies and they are overstimulating or they take away my sexuality. Nana, if you had my doctor, you would get a lecture about always having had anxiety and you have to deal with whatever is causing that. I loved hearing that after 25 year of hard work in counseling. Maybe it's the same for you.
(Not due to the medication in any way) As a result, I was prescribed Vicodin and Oxycodone for pain. In the past I had always refused pain medications. I felt tough and manly if I didn't need them, but this wasn't getting your wisdom teeth pulled. I needed to take them. Having very little knowledge of opiate painkillers at the time I began taking them as the doctor prescribed. When I took the first dose I felt amazing. The opiates completely eliminated all my anxiety and depression.
I want to wean off before then. Ive been taking oxycodone for almost 2 years now and have been taking 15 mg 5-6 times daily. I wouldnt say that I am addicted either, because I do take them as prescribed but I have created a physical dependence on them because even when I have no pain, i have to take my dose at reg time or I start having bad hot flashes and stomach cramps. I hate this! I want out! I dont want to take pills no more but am scared of the w/d's!!!
I know my husband was depressed by the fatigue, inability to work and just plain sick of being sick. Zoloft and Paxil are a couple of the meds I've seen people here taking. For joint pain he should be able to take Ibuprophen which is what I've seen recommended by doctors on several HCV related websites.
That doesn't mean another memory won't pop up, but Zoloft was a complete and total nightmare. Paxil wasn't great either. Maybe I have missed something, but most of the drugs we are warned about have not had any appeal for me other than doing their job. It's remarkable with the number of drug addicts and alcoholics in my family that I have never been addicted to anything except cigarettes. I think it's generally a good idea to be cautious about meds, overall.
I apologize ahead of time for how long this will be, but I need help in deciding what to do next. I'm nearly 48 and a single mom of 4 (10, 12, 14, and nearly 18.) I have sole custody and get no help either financially or in any other way from my ex. After my last baby I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I had a hard time with that and wasn't even sure if it was a "real" diagnosis. I tried different medications for it but nothing really helped.
I have a family member who went from daily Xanax to Buspar and Paxil with good results. I wish I had more than support and prayers to offer you Thomas. You have given up so much for us and now I feel like I've short changed you. My heart is out to you brother. God Bless you and peace be with you this evening.
I tried zoloft, clexar, effoxor, paxil, lexapro and possible one more it made me feel like I was on a bad high! I'm sure I will after I get a dr. and do it the right way. .
Be gentle, I am very excited about having this baby, and I have a wicked anxiety disorder. Also, I take 40mg of paroxotine, paxil, any suggestions on how to deal with this? Switch meds or...? I love Dr Pepper, can I have a little sometimes or not at all? I have been drinking like 8 cans a day.
Your symptom of dry mouth is likely not related to the heart medications, but instead due to the high-dose of oxycodone and paxil is another culprit for dry mouth. Spironolactone, metoprolol and simvastatin do not typically cause dry mouth. I would talk to whoever is prescribing your anti-depressant and look into trying another one. There are many different anti-depressants. Also, if possible I would try to cut back on your oxycodone to see if that helps. You are on a very high dose.
Hello, I was on high doses of hydrododone daily for about 2 years (up to 150 mg a day) and then progressed to sporatic iv use of opiates such as morphine, oxycodone, and heroin. I went to rehab 2 years ago and have been on suboxone ever since. At one time I was taking 4 8mg tabs a day but am now down to 1. I have read that opiate abuse damages the brain's ability to produce endorphins, and that opiates mimic the effects of endorphins on the brain. I have always battled depression and still do.
I know its a lower level drug but Valium and Xanax seem to be great treatment for anxiety...I've been put on Paxil and Zoloft and Buspar and all those "anti-depressives" to me thats the doctors just writting off scripts to get paid from the pharm. companies... next time you go into an office look at all the "promo" stuff there is for all these meds....doctors use the anti-depressants on people as if you're being tested.
which i dont even notice the pain medicine working anymore(oxycodone 15mgx2 3 times a day) and havnt EVER noticed the antidepressants (paxil 40mgs) working. but i have a couple dr apps coming up at the philidelphia va medical center so maybe they can adjust, idk. well...

I take Paxil, Lithium, Flexeril, Oxycodone, Prevacid, Xanax. The last visit was Thurs and I took my boyfriend with me because the Dr intimidates me. I said I need to know my options. My pain meds are not working like they use to. I have taking the same dose for year and a half. The Dr in Pa where I moved from wanted to put me on Fentanyl Patches so I would have longer relieve. I said no I didn't want anything stronger. Well now I need something different.
