518994 tn?1212242047 I read where Omega 3 was good for your dog. Is it a different Omega 3 or is it the same that humans take?
Avatar f tn I take one to fight babybrain. Omegas are stripped from myelin shealths during pregnancy and since they act as lubricant in the conduction of, essentially thoughts, our thought process is slowed. I didn't ask my doc about it yet but it does clear up fog in my brain.
Avatar f tn you know, I haven't been taking the Omega 3 since I got pregnant - they make me nauseous. I just take my prenatals daily. I try to eat healthy(doesn't always happen) but i do try. I didnt take any Omega 3 with my other kids and their fine, so oh well.
Avatar f tn I take my prenatal pill one times a day. And It has everything I need But No omega 3 an I heard to take it 2nd or 3rd trimester. Just don't remember what was said.
Avatar m tn I took an Omega-3 supplement for the first time before going to bed last night, and when I woke up one eye was very swollen and puffy. The only allergies I have had are seasonal. Could I be allergic to the Omega-3 supplement?
Avatar n tn It depends on the person. Paxil is an SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) and Effexor is an SNRI (serotonin norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor) so they are two different types of anti-depressants and each one works differently on different people. Your doctor would know by asking questions which ones would work the best for you based on how you generally feel.
Avatar f tn It is easier to withdraw from flouxetine. Vitamin BComplex helps my headaches and Omega 3 helps me a lot less anxiety but for panic disorder i still have to depend on xanax for a week or 2 to get my body back. Don't any how eat antidepressant medicine. Be happy always. Jesus is with us always. Amen. Cause he died for us.
Avatar n tn I am not sure of your question. Are you asking where omega 3 and omega 6 foods come from? Omegas 3 / 6 are polyunsaturated oils that help lower cholesterol and help prevent blood platelets from clotting blood vessel walls. The best source is fish especially mackerel, tuna, salmon, and lake trout. Fish should be eaten 2-3 times a week. Omega 3 are found in whole nuts, soy nuts / oil, and canola oil. Recommend 1-2 teaspoons of nuts daily. Hope this answered your question.
Avatar f tn no, i went several months trying natural things like 5htp and omega oils. i do think it's much easier going from one antidepressant to another. i went from paxil to effexor with no problems, now i'm back on paxil. if you start the celexa then the withdrawal will probably go away. for me effexor was the worse antidepressant i've ever taken. if you take celexa i hope it works for you. take care.
Avatar f tn I am an 18 year old female, and i was on the antidepressant/ anxiety medication Paxil for about a year two years ago. i suddenly stopped taking it because i got very sick and couldn't keep any medication or even water down for two weeks and then i just didn't go back to taking the medication.
Avatar n tn My husband has severe dry eyes, and has started taking omega 3 and flax seed oil. It is working very well, but his dose (after gradual increase to a point of benefit) is more than recommended. Can he overdose on 3 times the normal dose of purified omega 3 fish oil..the brand he takes is Health from the Sea PFO pure fish oil liquid. He takes twice the dose of the flax seed oil (same brand name).
Avatar m tn Higher concentrations of EPA and DHA, the active components in omega-3s, can also be found in LOVAZA — the first and only prescription omega-3 medication. It is important to know that some types of fish may contain mercury and other pollutants from the environment. Therefore, the American Heart Association (AHA) cautions that some people should limit the amount of certain types of fish they eat.
Avatar m tn t just one substance, Omega three are fatty acids just like Omega 6 fatty acids found in oils and meat etc. Omega 3 are EPA, DHA, and ALA . Some experts have said that the balance between Omega 6 fatty acids and Omega 3 is key, but just as many say this is nonsense. Omega 3 do have benefits, mainly reducing inflammation in the body, such as in the arteries or joints. It can also reduce your clotting factor if taken in too high doses, causing excessive bleeding.
317787 tn?1473358451 Hi there! I just found this group and was wondering if anyone had tried Omega 3 supplements. I am trying them now for stiffness in joints, body. I've also read it can help with brain fog or fuzzy thinking.

Avatar f tn Daily I take a multi vitamin tablet, vitamin B complex and high dose of Omega 3. I also take a yoghurt drink with all the good gut germs and a yoghurt with the same. I am honestly feeling very well on this. I believe the vitamin B gives me more energy. I have walked as lot this week, and been involved in quite a bit of socialising, and feel mentally and physically well. We will see later in the year how I am feeling as I slowly reduce my anti-depressant. For me no hurry at all.
Avatar n tn Hi, I took Paxil for years for perimenopause. Went off of it last July after switching to Cymbalta and then lexapro and Citalopram (had a bad reaction to the citalopram and stopped everything). Been doing O.K. since then cause went through menopause. Some people have horror stories about withdrawing from Paxil but I didn't and I know of at least one other person who had no problems with stopping the paxil.
