Paxil and jaw pain

Common Questions and Answers about Paxil and jaw pain

paxil

Avatar n tn I was on Paxil for a few months and came off and experienced massive withdrawal, worse then my previous Loratab addiction. I came off cold turkey but immediately switched to Zoloft. I was on a high dose of Paxil. The only ache I had was a massive headache 24/7. Massive!! I went back on Paxil for two weeks and I'm off again but it's odd that I have no headache but I have the most horrible back pain. I never had this before starting Paxil.
Avatar n tn It works great for me with absolutely no side effects. My sister takes lexapro and swears by it but changed to paxil because Lexapro is so expensive and paxil is 4 dollars at walmart. Drink a lot of fluids to keep flushing your system is about all you can do. Sorry I do not have more to offer.
Avatar n tn Hi, I was going to take Paxil for OCD and anxiety on HIV. How helpful is it? what are the side effects?
Avatar f tn My son has been taking paxil for a year now. He also started taking abilify 5mg and deplin 7.5mg in December. He has been experiencing muscle twitching for a month now so his doctor took him down to 2.5mg of abilify and them completly off the end of last week. He is still noticably twitching in his upper body and face. Could the deplin be causing this or does it just take a while for the ability to get out of his system. Do you think the twitching will go away?
Avatar n tn I am a 20 year old, 5'2", 115lb. female and for the past year or so I've been on Paxil, but my entire experience with Paxil is that it makes me nauseous and shake no matter how long I take it for. My body can't seem to get over the side-effects, so for a while I was only taking the Paxil every three to four days (they were extended-release pills) and I seemed to be alright. But for the past few weeks I decided to try to get off Paxil completely.
Avatar n tn Sadly no one on here can answer that question for you and if they do say yes do not listen as we are not trained medical doctors nor do we know all about your medical history. You will have to go back and speak to your PC or GP and see what he/she says. There must of been a logical/medical reaso for the change.... Maybe Lexapro interacts with another medicine that was prescribed, hence the change.
Avatar f tn I just found this, and I wanted to make a comment on the chance there are anxiety sufferers who are also being treated for breast cancer. It make be a well know issue now, but when my wife began Tamoxifen treatment following her breast cancer surgery and radiation, I saw an article on TV regarding drug interaction between Paxil and Tamoxifen. We immediately mentioned it to my wife's oncologist, and he initially dismissed it and told my wife to continue to take the two drugs as prescribed.
Avatar n tn m not big on side effects and all that. I have been taking paxil for 4 days now and on day two I realized that I was yawning so much that my jaw was starting to hurt (yawn) I cant stop. Im really really tired and the yawning is getting quite annoying. Is this normal and when does It usually stop? Im also obese weighing in at 257.4 lbs with only a 5'2" height. I heard alot about paxil making you gain weight. I dont want that. Im trying to become healthy.
Avatar n tn I have frequent jaw pain, jaw numness and jaw that crack when I chew on something at some point. I saw a dentist lately and he told me that everithing is normal with my teeth an jaw on the x-ray. I also have pain in my ears due to that! My best guess whould be that it is a Chiari symptome.
1448936 tn?1363206346 ve been unconciously clenching my jaw causing me more head discomfort, and my shoulders and back muscles are constantly tight. I have to physically tell myself to relax my shoulders and stop clenching my jaw. Its making me miserable, the constant head pain and muscle tightness. If I take a xanax the symptoms get significantly better but I don't want to take them regularly to stop the symptoms. Any advice on how to control this?
Avatar f tn Hello! I am currently going thru a detox of Paxil, hydros, nicotine, and while I was at it I stopped the marijuana. I am a wreck! It's been about 10-13 days I've stopped the Paxil - I did so with the help of my doc from 40mg gradually down to 10. I am completely off the med currently. I started taking it approx 5 years ago It's been about 3-4 days since I've stopped the hydros. I started those about the same time as the Paxil. Problem being off these is I NEED them for pain.

Avatar f tn This is a simple one, you need to stop the drinking. That's really the BEST option here. IN the VERY least, you're going to need to cut WAY back. Here's some info (excerpts from link posted below): "Paxil or paroxetine and alcohol act on similar chemicals of the brain and this is the main reason why doctors advise the users of Paxil not to combine it with alcohol." " The main concern is that Paxil increases the effects of alcohol.
Avatar m tn I take paxil, and they help me and ativan on a rare occasion. Anxiety is not a nice thing to go through. I have had it a long time but seems to have gotten a lot better since I quit drinking. If you do drink, stop and any drugs you may take including antihistamines. Its all going to affect you. Now that I am clean and sober I can relate better to what is bothering me and cope better. Clenching jaw is a sympton of anxiety also. Don't stress, you won't die from anxiety.
Avatar n tn When people refer to jaw pain and heart attack where on the jaw is this referring to. Is it lower jaw or up near the cheek on the upper jaw. Is the pain intense or throbbing.
Avatar m tn I would get this checked out a s a p if I was you. Pain in chest and jaw at same time can be related and due to a heart problem .
Avatar f tn Both imipramine and Paxil gave me headaches. Lexapro hasn't, but I've developed this weird fullness in my ears and allergies during non-allergy season. I read recently on the Lexapro website that sinus problems are one of its most common side effects. Imagine that! I saw an ENT, who told me I was clenching my jaw, causing me the ear feeling. Then I read on this site recently that Lexapro was causing jaw clenching. So there you have it. These are just weird stuff, these meds.
Avatar n tn good day i am 27 years old and have developed sinus over the years, with the change of seasons i sometimes experience discomfort in my face like the nose area and eye area when the wind blows my eyes get teary and i seem to cough, and about a few months ago i went to a doctor and he explained that there is swelling in my jaw appearently i have some sort of an overbite which is causing some skewness in my mouth, he gave my muscle relaxers to ease the pain, but the sinus pain aswell as the jaw
11323442 tn?1417415103 I went to the hospital and they said I had a panic attack and that I should follow up with a doctor and possibly see a therapist (im the type who holds things in) so I went to the doctor she said the same thing and prescribed me paxil and a anxiety med (paxil made me feel worst) and this was 2 weeks ago and I still have no appetite and I have lost about 10ish lbs in a month......
1825362 tn?1317883153 I tolerated that and I am supposed to try paxil again... was to start 3 weeks ago but honestly I am apprehensive as I feel I am just now stabilizing after zoloft and busporin 6 weeks ago. Hepatologist says she won't treat me without anti-depressant first. Actually it seems I tolerate all of my meds less now a days. Once I get my mind around it I will try Paxil soon. I must take triple therapy in Febuary. Got to get my mind around that as well.
Avatar f tn RA is that reacurring anxiety?? To answer your question only ur doctor will be able to say whether it will help YOU! but in theory it should help cause Paxil is used to control anxiety disorders as well as depression. 20 years to be on Paxil is a long time, you must of been put on the drug when it very first came onto the market. Also did you tapper off slowly or come off quick? it could be a rebound effect from not having the drug. Best to have a chat with your doc.
Avatar n tn I have swelling on the left side of my jaw and face. My jaw hurts underneath almost like a swollen gland. I also have canker sores inside my left side of mouth which I think is from biting the inside of my mouth while I sleep. What can I do for the pain. Is this TMJ or just stress?
Avatar n tn I also had headaches (not anymore) intense anxiety for moments and muscle pain (on back and and abdomen) because I am very tense all the time. Yesterday was the worse of all. Horrible. The nausea was absolutely horrible, and I was so anxious that I felt like I was going to get crazy. And I am afraid that this is just starting. I took 10 mg of Paxil cause I couldn`t stand it anymore. My questions are: *Did I stop taking the Paxil very fast?
Avatar f tn The chest discomfort you describe is classic for an anxiety/panic aficionado. As is the tendency to not believe the doctor when they tell us eveything is OK. So, you CAN seek out another opinion and then another one after that because, well, why should you believe ANY of them? And the EKG machine was no doubt on the fritz, and blood work gets lost or mixed up all the time. YIKES!
Avatar n tn It is very closely associated to the TMJ and completely responsible for your jaw and tooth functions. It feeds sensation and function to your jaws, face, tongue, sinus, palate, eyes, teeth, and lips. The trigeminal accounts for over 40% of the brain's processing. The trigeminal also has innervation and control over certain areas of the brain itself. The trigeminal nerve is also "married" to the facial, hypoglossal, and vagus nerves.
Avatar f tn While my panic attacks have subsided, I have been ruled by excessive worrying, especially about my health. I have been to the doctor several times (and put on Paxil), and I am healthy. I cannot seem to overcome this worrying. Anytime I have a strange pain, I worry that something could be seriously wrong. The worrying is becoming so overwhelming that I worry about worrying, as crazy as that may sound. I try everything I can to calm my mind, but it is always an underlying burden.
