Paxil and chest pain

Common Questions and Answers about Paxil and chest pain

paxil

Avatar f tn The chest discomfort you describe is classic for an anxiety/panic aficionado. As is the tendency to not believe the doctor when they tell us eveything is OK. So, you CAN seek out another opinion and then another one after that because, well, why should you believe ANY of them? And the EKG machine was no doubt on the fritz, and blood work gets lost or mixed up all the time. YIKES!
Avatar n tn Hello, I am really wondering about a few things so if ANYONE can help i would be so appreciative, and i don't mean to ramble bout it so let me know if i don't make sense. I have had GAD and panic disorder for two mnths. was put on paxil the generic 8 days ago at 20 mg. It makes me tired during the day, no sleep at night without ativan 1 mg, nausua no appetite and lathargic.. I have read sooo much about these being normal effects so i am guessing they are right? and will they get better?
Avatar f tn s the benzos like Ativan, Klonipin and Xanax that put you at ease from an anxiety or panic attack. I just had the bad chest pain about 10 minutes ago with a pin-pricking feeling and, yes, I tend to get nervous and panic. I basically calmed down and took my ativan...right now I feel it starting to subside.
Avatar f tn ok so the past few weeks ive been having extreme anxiety, tingling in fingers, arm pain, back and chest pain on and off (pressure, sharp pains, anything you can think of i've felt it), panic attacks. saw a cardiologist on tuesday, said i had a normal echo. last year and nothing would drastically change within a year, and normal ekgs and holter monitor recently. he also prescribed me propranolol , which i'm terrified to take because it drops BP and your heart rate.
Avatar m tn You need to be evaluated for the chest pain, and you should consider doing a much slower taper off of the Paxil. Paxil is a hard one to get off of. It might take a long time to get off of it completely. I'm sorry you are suffering so much.
Avatar f tn I was told that i had anxiety chest pain and they injected diazepam 5 mg and then a nurse came in to check my vitals again. My blood pressure was 124/87 or so. I was then sent home that night. I still feel that pressure in my chest and it truly worries me even though they keep telling me it's not heart related. I had seen a psychiatrist the day before this for the first time in some clinic and he told me that I was depressed and I should take Paxil.
Avatar m tn I just recently started having anxiety out of nowhere. My symptoms are , pain all over chest and back ( I do have costiocondritis ) heart palpitations frequently, feeling light headed thru out the day and just feel I'm mentally here anymore. I had an stress test about a year ago, came back normal, as I am typing this I'm feeling dizzy. I went to the ER two days ago just too make sure I have I'm not having heart problems.
Avatar n tn I was on Paxil for a few months and came off and experienced massive withdrawal, worse then my previous Loratab addiction. I came off cold turkey but immediately switched to Zoloft. I was on a high dose of Paxil. The only ache I had was a massive headache 24/7. Massive!! I went back on Paxil for two weeks and I'm off again but it's odd that I have no headache but I have the most horrible back pain. I never had this before starting Paxil.
Avatar f tn Hey guys. I have another odd-ish question again. I just recently started taking Paxil, 10mg on Monday. Last night, my husband and I went out without our kids for the first time in months. I had a great night, and before we headed back home, we stopped at a friend's house to say hi and hang for a minute. I was fine for a half hour or so and suddenly, out of nowhere I had a serious panic attack, something I've never experienced before. I had to walk out of the house, and sit in our car.
Avatar f tn I have had Costrochondritis since Dec 2015. I also have anxiety. I'm on ativan and Paxil. I just upped my dose of Paxil to 10 mg about 6 days ago. Since I have, the burning in my chest is much worse. I also have ulcerative colitis. But its in remission. Can Paxil cause burning in your chest? Or more anxiety?
Avatar m tn I've been on 2 pills (40mg) of Paxil for almoust 10 years. From 17/18 to currently 27 years old. Reason was chest pains which were diagnosed as Panic Disorder. So after all this time on 2 pills a day last month I told the psychiatrist I wanted to stop, because I hadn't had a panic attack in a long time, and was feeling pretty good. Well he told me to go from 1/2 for 10 days to 1/4 another 10 days, and then stop taking the pills. I think I'm sorry, I listened to him.
Avatar f tn Hi lou yes burning skin and burning in the head and chest pain and numbness and tingling starts in my face and continues through my body. My psy said give the medicine time 6 wks but I can't continue on this way it has to not be the right one for me. Been on it 3wks but weaned off of paxil and wasn't sure if it were paxil withdrawl or the lexapro affects.
Avatar f tn I wake up and all of my clothing and sheets are to the point of soaked. Last night I started experiencing chest pain like my heart hurt with some irregular breathing patterns. I was restless all night and was sweating worse than ever. I am currently taking 40mg of paxil and am also on Lamisil. I am pretty healthy, 200 pounds, 6'1", good libido. I have suffered with some mild depression over the past year.

Avatar f tn Thank goodness I found this site. It has been so frustrating thinking I was the only one out there with this problem. 20 years ago I was diagnosed with mild mitral and tricuspid valve prolapses and i've had PVCs for 20 years. Mostly stayed off caffeine and everything was fine enough. They didn't bother me and when I did feel one or two of them, I just said to myself, oops, must have been that cup of coffee.
Avatar n tn I am trying acupuncture, hypnotherapy, yoga but am getting no relief. I get chest pain and pain in arms but doc says all tests are ok. I have tried calcium, magnesium, hawthorn extract, CoQ10 also. I have been on paxil, lexapro, effexor, they do nothing for me. I am about to try homeopathy. Does anyone have a similar condition or have any advice for me?
Avatar f tn Its been 1 week that ive been taking Paxil for my anxiety attacks, I took my 7th one before I went to bed tonight. The past 4 nights i've been waking up with that sensation that I cant breathe and lye there awake for hours. Its like this all day, its more severe when I wake up, before I go to bed and during the night when I wake up to this like right now. During the day even when im able to relax a little more then usual I have chest pains constantly, mostly on the left mid side.
Avatar f tn Heart racing, cold and hot body feelings, tingly feeling face and arm, chest pains, shortness of breath, and major fear of dying. Even when I think I'm relaxed I'm still anxious feeling. I don't want to die. Somebody please tell me this is normal for anxiety and panic!!! I take 40mgs of Paxil daily and it is helping at all. I feel scared all the time to have another one but I don't really relax from the others. Its almost a constant day to day struggle.
Avatar m tn 25, to take for the tremors and rising pains which releaved any jitters or chest pain immediately. I have taken, and still only take one pill a day, two if absolutely needed but haven't in over two weeks since starting xanax. Once a day seems right as I get jittery mainly at night. A month later, I was laying in bed and had a sharp pain in my chest area nearly sent me through the roof.
Avatar f tn I took that for about 3 weeks then i stopped taking it for a week and now my family doctor gave me a prescription for Paxil(10mg) to take for 30 days starting today. I still have pain and a tightness feeling in my chest and I feel like im short of breathe constantly thoughout the days, everyday, even when i'm calm. Is there any chance that the doctors had missed something? Or am I just worrying myself to death?
Avatar n tn Sadly no one on here can answer that question for you and if they do say yes do not listen as we are not trained medical doctors nor do we know all about your medical history. You will have to go back and speak to your PC or GP and see what he/she says. There must of been a logical/medical reaso for the change.... Maybe Lexapro interacts with another medicine that was prescribed, hence the change.
Avatar f tn I was on Paxil and Propanolol and my Dr. Took mee off Paxil due to possible interactions. Not on anything for depression now but I am waiting to be put on one. Can't take SSRI anyone have any suggestions.
Avatar f tn I just found this, and I wanted to make a comment on the chance there are anxiety sufferers who are also being treated for breast cancer. It make be a well know issue now, but when my wife began Tamoxifen treatment following her breast cancer surgery and radiation, I saw an article on TV regarding drug interaction between Paxil and Tamoxifen. We immediately mentioned it to my wife's oncologist, and he initially dismissed it and told my wife to continue to take the two drugs as prescribed.
Avatar f tn I am 26 and have been having on and off chest pain for about 3 yrs. i have been to the doctor many times and he insists that nothing is wrong with me. I have had an EKG, chest x-ray, chest ct scan, and numerous blood tests that all came back normal. He says that I am suffering from anxiety, but I'm just not sure that I believe that. I have no history of heart disease in my family, my blood pressure is good, my total cholesterol is 250, trigl=135,LDL =123, Hdl=100.
1693864 tn?1306282782 I am only on 10 mg s and I cant tell its doing anything for me at all.....I still feel panicky and have tightness in my chest and headaches and tremors in my body.....I have tried so many of these types of drugs that I am sick of it but my anxiety has gotten so bad I had to try again....I just hope it kicks in....my vision is so blurry also and my eyes look like i have been on a drunk....I just am so tired and fatigued.....

Avatar m tn ve been experiencing burning sensations throughout my entire body (arms, legs, butt, chest, hands, etc) and sharp eletric shock type pains. Also pain in neck and lower back. I found out that it appears I contracted HSV2 in March. But my doctor seems to think these pains are in my mind or caused by anxiety... Has anyone experienced these types of issues due to anxiety and found some relief through meds like Xanax or Paxil?
Avatar f tn m going out of my mind, no one can offer me any answers for my chest pain. This pain has taken over my life, and I have lost the will to even go outside. Has anyone else experienced this? I feel crazy, and all I want it for the pain to go away.
