12182312 tn?1427683956 If your doctor does prescribe these medications together, you may need a dose adjustment or special test to safely use both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.".
Avatar m tn They are often prescribed together. There is some question whether Buspar works at all, but some believe it does help Paxil work better. As for withdrawal being "easily" remedied, I wonder if that poster has ever been on Paxil or any other ssri? Easy isn't really the description many would use. And I don't think that difference in dosage will affect your withdrawal.
Avatar f tn Ive been switched from Paroxetine to Zoloft as am looking to try for a baby and this is supposed to be 'safer'. My doctor has changed me over gradually. I took Paroxetine 20mg for 2 weeks plus Sertraline/Zoloft 50mg, then went to Paroxetine 10mg and Sertraline/Zoloft 50mg and 5 days ago I've stopped Paroxetine altogether and am now just on Zoloft 50mg...I've went to the doctors yesterday because I feel terrible terrible - headaches, feeling incredibly depressed and crazy!
Avatar f tn First I want you to relax about taking the Buspirone and the Paroxetine at the same time. Your p-doc knows his meds and would not prescribe drugs that are contraindicated. Secondly, don't get all befuddled about the "correct" times to take them. We ALL live, work and sleep by the 24 hour clock..........the only difference is that some of us are sleeping while others are working. Your doctor has prescribed your dose(s) of Buspirone to be taken twice a day.
Avatar n tn In general, the use of paroxetine (or other SSRIs) with TCAs should be avoided if possible, or otherwise approached with caution if potential benefit is deemed to outweigh the risk. Pharmacologic response and plasma TCA levels should be monitored more closely whenever paroxetine is added to or withdrawn from therapy in patients stabilized on their existing antidepressant regimen, and the TCA dosage adjusted as necessary.
1723975 tn?1309987899 Hi i have depresion and i am too sleepy, the psqui. doc put me on paroxetine less than 10mg for now then he said i will incrise the dosage, my question is, will this med make me gain wight???
1563026 tn?1295031701 ve been on ssri such as paroxetine for 10 months (due to excess consumption of 5hour energy drinks, which resulted in development of anxiety, OCD and depression when stopped abruptly), i weaned myself slowly, so i didn't have any side effects, but 2 months later i started to suffer from insomnia ( trigger was stress and rhodiola rosea IMO), could it be because of low serotonine levels?what would be the best alternative to ssri?
Avatar n tn Hi Joyce. I take Paroxetine also and it's NOT OK to take while pregnant. I was going to try to get pregnant last year so I had this whole discussion with my doctor and she had switched me to Lexapro which I believe is better if you have to take something while you are pregnant but that didn't work for my anxiety and made me sick so I couldn't continue.
Avatar m tn So I have been taking Paroxetine(Paxil) for 4 months now and it changed my life, took away my O.C.D. and my social anxiety. But i had side effects so i started taking Bupropion(wellbutrin) So after 1 days dose which was 1 pill twice a day, I had my O.C.D. back about half as bad and my social axiety came back about half as bad. So i stopped taking the Bupropion and i am still taking the Paroxetine but it's not working as well as it did before.
Avatar n tn Combining fluoxetine or paroxetine with phenytoin can also lead to increased phenytoin side effects and reduce blood levels of paroxetine. You really need to discuss the potential drug interactions with your own doctor.
Avatar m tn After several weeks without masturbating and several trips to the GP and remaining very depressed, with no improvement in the erection department, I was put back onto the Paroxetine at 20mg. My GP thought the issue was basically in my head due to anxiety. I should note here that my girlfriend and I have had oral sex, and I was able to perform, though maybe not as strongly as I could before.
Avatar f tn However, my insurance is not picking up the Cymbalta, so my dr ordered Paroxetine in its place. I do not want to take drugs unless necessary, and I have gotten to a point that my pain affects my work. I definitely do not want to take an anti-depressant unless it really works. Any issues or compliments about this drug for neuro-issues.

Avatar n tn 2 to 1 month for someone not being introduced with a new drug. Could be shorter for your husband.
Avatar f tn She mentioned the study, but said that it was a bad study (not conclusive) but she prefers breast cancer patients not to take paroxetine just in case. The switch is not abrupt, she first reduced the dose of paroxetine and started with a low dose of the new drug for a while.
Avatar m tn My doctor not telling me cut my paroxetine in half per month from 40 to 20 by breaking the pill in half. So i pick up the bottle from pharmacy not looking at the rx. So after 15 days i look in my bottle and say, what the hell? I mean several times in the last ten years she had no problem giving me an early script of clonazepam(its a benzo like xanax, ativan, valium, etc). I mean most people on benzos over use every other month. and going off them is a medical emergency.
Avatar f tn Hi, I just need a bit of advice. My meds are 30mgs Remeron, 30mgs Paroxetine 150mgs WellbutrinSR and 300mgs Lithium. The Wellbutrin and the Lithium are 3x daily. My question is how can I get over the severe fatigue I experience one to two hours after taking the morning dose? I'm open to all suggestions. Right now in my armory is gum, small pieces of dark chocolate and laying down for about 5minutes-cuz I'm restless and need to get things done.
Avatar m tn I took 1 year and 2 months my paroxetine doctor stopped me suddenly telling me I'm going to pass in 2 weeks the side effects but it was cheated were disastrous we vomit we shed terrible headache strong God how I resisted I do not know I could not eat I could not sleep I was crying for death She said it to me in March 2017 They continued the side effects until July when I came back to her I would die if I kept on doing so with the reactions (I know I exaggerated a bit) He gave me again paroxe
Avatar m tn I was lucky in that I never had much of a problem in going off or on paxil. I believe it took 3 to 6 weeks for it to work. How many mg. are you on?
429949 tn?1224691579 Years ago I took Paxil, I had an allergic reaction to it. I turned lobster red like I baked out in the sun nude. You need to research Paxil, I thought I read somewhere where it isn't effective as they thought, it seemed they had a few others like Effexer, and fluoxetine, not sure what the name brand was off hand. Memory fails me. Keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Yeah -- only take this or Effexor if you've tried absolutely everything else first and it didn't work. Very hard to stop taking, and once you're on it, it just seems to be stronger in its affinity for neurotransmitters making other meds harder to work if you have to stop taking it. Start elsewhere.
