paxil

Avatar n tn have to say depends upon how long he has been on the paroxetine for and whether there is any interaction with the introduced drug and how long it takes for the new drug to build up to it's therepeutic effect. I can't remember how long for Paroxetine but remember that that was something like a couple of months. Prozac with me took something like 3 months this year although i was on a high dose and had been on it for a number of years where i steadily reduced and had consolidation weeks.
Avatar m tn So I have been taking Paroxetine(Paxil) for 4 months now and it changed my life, took away my O.C.D. and my social anxiety. But i had side effects so i started taking Bupropion(wellbutrin) So after 1 days dose which was 1 pill twice a day, I had my O.C.D. back about half as bad and my social axiety came back about half as bad. So i stopped taking the Bupropion and i am still taking the Paroxetine but it's not working as well as it did before.

Avatar f tn However, my insurance is not picking up the Cymbalta, so my dr ordered Paroxetine in its place. I do not want to take drugs unless necessary, and I have gotten to a point that my pain affects my work. I definitely do not want to take an anti-depressant unless it really works. Any issues or compliments about this drug for neuro-issues.
1326416 tn?1370927001 After six weeks, symptoms of depression decreased 57% in the group taking hyperforin-rich Hypericum and only 45% in the group taking paroxetine. Patients taking Hypericum were 42% less likely than patients taking paroxetine to experience negative side effects. The researchers concluded that, "In the treatment of moderate to severe major depression, Hypericum extract... is at least as effective as paroxetine and is better tolerated.
Avatar m tn My doc immediately prescribed me 20mg of Paroxetine and 10mg of Buspirone. He wanted to up my dosage to 25mg of Paroxetine and 15mg of Buspirone. I didn't want this however because I know there are some withdrawal problems with paxil. I'm just worried about taking these two medications together. Thanks.
Avatar n tn Combining fluoxetine or paroxetine with phenytoin can also lead to increased phenytoin side effects and reduce blood levels of paroxetine. You really need to discuss the potential drug interactions with your own doctor.
Avatar n tn Hi Joyce. I take Paroxetine also and it's NOT OK to take while pregnant. I was going to try to get pregnant last year so I had this whole discussion with my doctor and she had switched me to Lexapro which I believe is better if you have to take something while you are pregnant but that didn't work for my anxiety and made me sick so I couldn't continue.
486038 tn?1300063367 Maybe you can take half doses for a while, or skip every other day until you get used to the med. Or the pharmacist may tell you the medicine may not be for you. Feel better!
Avatar n tn Hello there, Glad I have found this page! I suffer from Severe Anxiety and can't function without paroxetine, I have been weaned off once and I was not too bad for 2 months but the Anxiety did return and I couldn't eat or function at all, lost a stone before I went back onto paroxetine. I was trying for a baby, I will wait for a while now.
1553775 tn?1325182402 People can react differently to different types of medication and blood pressure is affected by so many different factors. For me, being on an SSRI like Paxil, it actually lowers my BP in the long run (I guess maybe it helps with my anxiety and thus lowers it). Have you changed your diet? Do you exercise? Ageing can also play a role in it as well.
Avatar f tn My Pdoc gave me Remeron as a sleep aide. Maybe try taking it at night. I stopped taking it all together because even at night, I would wake up the next day, groggy all day. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn m wondering is this a side effect of Paroxetine, or was it because I needed to allow more time for the meds to get into my system? Any comments, please? I really, really, need to go on meds now.
1118189 tn?1259031097 I am now retired and out of the stress that I was experiencing. I really want to discontinue the use of Paroxetine (40 mg). How can I best do this?
Avatar f tn Ive been switched from Paroxetine to Zoloft as am looking to try for a baby and this is supposed to be 'safer'. My doctor has changed me over gradually. I took Paroxetine 20mg for 2 weeks plus Sertraline/Zoloft 50mg, then went to Paroxetine 10mg and Sertraline/Zoloft 50mg and 5 days ago I've stopped Paroxetine altogether and am now just on Zoloft 50mg...I've went to the doctors yesterday because I feel terrible terrible - headaches, feeling incredibly depressed and crazy!
Avatar f tn I started taking the Buspirone this afternoon and was wondering how i should take it and the Paroxetine. Im supposed to take the Buspirone twice and day and half a tab of Paroxetine once before bed. Is it safe to take them at the same time right before bed or should i space them out. I work night shift so i wake around 3pm and go to bed around 6am. Just need some help with this kinda worried about the two meds having a bad reaction after i go to sleep.
1035021 tn?1296820707 Two weeks ago I stupidly tried a bottle of DXM (the pure formula with no combinations) and I ended in the hospital with something close to a respiratory depression, tachycardia, high blood pressure and panic, I felt I was going to die. After that my general doctor send me for blood analysis and everything was ok but the blood pressure and she told me that was due to the remainings of the DXM.
Avatar m tn re absorbing it quite well, the harder it is to stop. What you need is to set up a tapering schedule to stop the med as slowly as suits you, not some generalized schedule your psychiatrist uses for everyone -- and they virtually all do use the same taper for everyone unless you express a desire to do it differently or have had bad problems quitting in the past. So what anyone tells you on here will be interesting but won't have much application to how you're going to feel.
Avatar f tn Yeah -- only take this or Effexor if you've tried absolutely everything else first and it didn't work. Very hard to stop taking, and once you're on it, it just seems to be stronger in its affinity for neurotransmitters making other meds harder to work if you have to stop taking it. Start elsewhere.
12182312 tn?1427683956 My paroxetine is 40mg, and metoprolol is 25mg. Are they safe to take together. Is one an upper, one a downer. I take Paxil in the morning, metoprolol before bed.
Avatar f tn My wife had BC, she has already had the chemo and surgery and is now on the part of the treatment focused on preventing recurrence (herceptin and tamoxifen). She had been taking paroxetine for the last two years. Now she started to see the psychiatrist at the cancer centre (the one who routinely sees cancer patients) and the dr advised her to change the paroxetine for another antidepressant.
Avatar f tn If I happen to begin to get anxious, I can either swallow or place one under my tongue...it does work. The only side effects I get from the Ativan is it does make my sleepy. As for the two other medications, I don't really think I had any side effects from either. I honestly cannot recall since I've been on the medications for almost seven years now. I do tell anyone who listens to stay far away from Abilify.
Avatar f tn Your FT4 is pretty high.... Are you feeling any hyper symptoms? Everything else looks pretty good. Still have hair loss?
467977 tn?1262714747 Has the nervousness decreased ANY since you began? If it hasn't, I would talk to my doctor, but Paxil can take a fairly long time to reach it's therapeutic level, so I'd give it a while longer. Don't know about switching to the CR. That's something you need to discuss with your doc. I'd sure wait until you see how you do on the regular stuff first. Hang in there a little bit longer g/f................
Avatar f tn My Doctor put me on Remeron to help get me off of Paroxetine (Paxi) It really helped as I was having some bad withdrawl symptons from the Paroxetine. The biggest effect it had on me was that it let me sleep through the night instead of waking up in a panic at 3am.
