Avatar n tn I too am not sure about the spelling of this word ... I have seen it spelled "Seroxat and Zeroxat" ... this is an antidepressant used NOT in the U.S. With the limited info I've read it was not tolerated at all well and most pt.s switched to another drug. Regards ....

Avatar f tn Are these medicines for anxiety safe prescribed by the psychiatrist? Do they help in treating anxiety? how much? I have taken faverin(fluvoxamine), Lamnet(lamotrigine), Seroxat (paroxetine) & Seroxat CR (paroxetine hydrochloride) before but did not had any improvement.Someone else has tried effexor, effexor xr & alprazolam for anxiety?
Avatar n tn Unfortunately my experience with paxil/seroxat/paroxetine was really bad. It took quite a while for withdrawal. The reason i tried it, is that i read that it goes well with lamictal. my pdoc was a fool i suppose, i tried many pdocs at the time, and since i tried lexapro/escitalopram/cipralex and drove me manic after 2 months I switched to paxil to realise that it's stronger. they say the strongest is effexor. I suppose all SSRI aren't suitable for BP.
Avatar f tn Hi again, I have just looked up paroxetine, and see it is known as Seroxat. I took this for a while, with no weight gain, but had a very bad side effect and was taken off it at once. It may agree with you.
6207205 tn?1389773318 i have once made a CBT years ago, it helped a bit but for a little while only, i have also been taking Seroxat 20mg for about 9 years on and off, so you can say 4.5 years on a row . what do you think ?
Avatar m tn hello doc i want to ask a direct question i got my blood work and i found out i have high sgpt and sgot i am taking seroxat for 6 months is this the cause can seroxat higher sgpt and sgot P.
Avatar f tn This was a short term outlet and needless to say it all caught up with me once more when I found myself in a doctors surgery unable to sleep or breath or even hold a conversation. She told me I had G.A.D and prescribed me Seroxat which worked for sometime, I decided I was well enough to come off stopped taking them and fell back to the same vicious circumstances as before. I went back on and although I recieved mild relief it was never the same.
1679320 tn?1306382914 Loxamine is another brand name for Paroxetine... mostly known as Paxil in the States and Seroxat in the UK. It is a SSRI.... Paroxatine is a potent anti-depressant but it does work extremely well. Plus i have to toally agree with Mammo, the doctor who prescribed it shouldnt of given you the worst out come to taking these and it does shound like he/she was trying to put you off and scare you. Take Mammo's advice and seek out another doctor who will be more sensitive to your needs.
Avatar f tn Yesterday my doctor upped my dose to 300 mg cz of no to minimal improvement  after a month I am also taking seroxat and dogmatil. Do u think the upping my effexor dose my help and kick in ? I am really sick of anxiety and depression . I also have obsessive thoughts . All aspects of my life are affected badly and I feel that it is hard to live this way.  Can u plz help me . Thanks a lot I really appreciate it .
Avatar m tn m glad to report that i found that that the SSRI withdrawals were no where near as bad as i thought they would have been, as i went through Seroxat (paroxetine) withdrawals many years ago, which was not pleasant one bit and was when Doctor's still believed that there where no withdrawal effects from SSRI's. I'm read that Mirtazapine is used along SSRI's but i'm aiming to be on as little meds as possible.
Avatar m tn I currnetly take seroxat 30mg daily and want to take malaria tablets whilst on holiday.
Avatar m tn Restect to all, I was for 3 weeks on Seroxat (ad) I was not depresed or anxious, doctor wanted to give me this drug because I was sent to him by internist because my heart arrythmias. While I was on Seroxat first week I wass feeling I had very much more energy while I wasn't on seroxat. After first week I was feeling tired, after third week I was feeling extremly tired, and have lot of side effect(I didnt have they on first week of use).
Avatar m tn ok thank you:D i'll ask him about them
574118 tn?1305135284 since i was in the depressed phase already it was assumed not to help immediately so i intervened with seroxat/paxil an AD until my lamictal kicks in. Unfortunately, i had to cut lamictal completely because something akward happened. my brain voltage was on and off i.e. my eyes seems to shut down so i get up jump a little on and off a process which repeats itself (funny the same happened to a lady in the forum here describing the same phenomena).
Avatar m tn Prozac is a fluorinated drug called "fluoxetine". Paxil is a fluorinated drug called "paroxetine" (also called Seroxat, Aropax). These drugs are designed to inhibit the reuptake of serotonin (serotonin reuptake inhibitors - SSRIs) and hence interfere with the biological actions of serotonin, a neurotransmitter. Both drugs contain fluorine and chloride. Fluoride is present as a '4-fluorophenyl' compound, part of the 'active' ingredient. http://www.
Avatar f tn I am on Abilify 10mg and seroxat 20mg. Is it possible to be pregnant on them and how easy is it to wean off seroxat? I have heard horrific stories about its withdrawal...
Avatar f tn Hi, The brain zaps that you are experiencing is most probably due to the medications that you are currently on. Seroxat (paroxetine) can cause these brain zaps between 24 hrs to one week of dosage reduction or total discontinuation. Please consult your doctor as soon as you can. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brain_zaps Please let me know if you need more information.
1723975 tn?1309987899 Hi i have depresion and i am too sleepy, the psqui. doc put me on paroxetine less than 10mg for now then he said i will incrise the dosage, my question is, will this med make me gain wight???
Avatar f tn Anyway i decided to try a SSRI. i took paroxetine(seroxat) 10Mg once a day. i took it for 25 days and no change at all. i stopped taking it 10 days ago.I stopped nebilet when taking seroxat because paroxetine incireases nebivolol in the blood and both of my cardilogist didnt know about this effect :D. I usually do a lot of research for all medicines. I went on vacation for 1 week and my symptoms were there but really mild.sometimes i couldnt even notice them.
Avatar m tn Along with Valdoxan (Expected to be FDA approved soon) we also can look foward to another much different AD medication that even Valdoxan. It's called Saredutant. It is currently in phase 3 trials and is far different than the SSRI's and SNRI's we have all become so familiar with.
Avatar m tn I have been on Paroxetine for 10 years on and off and whenever I have a question about any medications that I can safely take I call the pharmacist and they are good about answering my guestions.Good luck!!
