I still feel the electric shocks and muscle aches from the withdrawal of my previous antidepressant (paroxetine) and I started getting a pounding heartfrom the seroquel. I went to see my gp who reduced my seroquel to seroquel xl 50 mg and I am to go back in a week to her, while I do not see the psychiatrist again for 5 weeks. My palpitations have stopped but the mood swings and depression have returned to just how they were before I reduced the dose. I do not know what to do..

There are start up side effects associated with paroxetine that go away once your system is used to the medication. Some doctors will start with 10 mg of paxil/paroxetine and titrate up to 20 after a week or so.

So I have been taking Paroxetine(Paxil) for 4 months now and it changed my life, took away my O.C.D. and my social anxiety. But i had side effects so i started taking Bupropion(wellbutrin) So after 1 days dose which was 1 pill twice a day, I had my O.C.D. back about half as bad and my social axiety came back about half as bad. So i stopped taking the Bupropion and i am still taking the Paroxetine but it's not working as well as it did before.

At 21, I just got a prescription for a preventative medication from my new neurologist. He Chose Elavil 25mg. I am also on a list of medications, one of which being Paxil 40mg. The first night I started taking Elavil, I felt different. I slept for 3 days straight, couldn’t go to work because of the dizziness and sleepiness as well. Here is my problem. I suffer from panic disorder, OCD, severe anxiety, and am just an extreme over thinker. I live with my girlfriend.

Paxil is a very good medication, and not any harder to stop than the others if it is done cautiously over a three week period. I don't know the study re breast cancer, but ask your doctor to interpet it for you, because if there is an increased risk, and may not be enough to worry about...

For two years I have been asking all of my doctors if this medication switch or the paroxetine is what started this whole thing, and eventhough they have let things slip out that have made me think that they suspect it, they will not document it! There reply is simply, It has never been documented in the medical literature with this medication!!

Also, it sounds like you are certain that you have anxiety and depression, and that is what the paroxetine is for. And paroxetine does not particularly have a reputation for keeping people awake at night, at least not that I have ever heard of. So I don't know about getting off paroxetine and staying on the amphetamine, when you're not sure you even have ADHD, and amphetamines are well known for causing insomnia.

Hello. I've recently been changed from Paroxetine to Zoloft as am looking to try for a baby and this is supposed to be 'safer'. My doctor has changed me over gradually. I took Paroxetine 20mg for 2 weeks plus Sertraline/Zoloft 50mg, then went to Paroxetine 10mg and Sertraline/Zoloft 50mg and 2 days ago I've stopped Paroxetine altogether and am now just on Zoloft 50mg...I'm off work today as I'm so depressed. All I want to do is cry and lay in bed.

If you think medication is necessary, Lexapro (a newer version of citalopram) and Prozac are supposedly the easiest to take. Prozac is the easiest to stop taking, but can be stimulating so isn't necessarily the best for anxiety, but if it works, it is, again, probably the safest and is usually where psychiatrists used to start if you got to the ssri class of meds. Lexapro is usually second.

Can I take Hydroxyzine Pamoate (Daily) and Paroxetine HCl Oral (for attacks), with Acetaminophen plus caffeine (for headaches/energy booster), together without having any adverse reactions? I've found that theophylline reacts negatively with caffeine, and MANY websites group hydroxyzine with theophylline. What is the difference between theophylline and hydroxyzine? Thank you!

Dear Doctor, I am a 41 year old female who until two years ago was in good health. I had a medication change just after my 39th birthday. I was abruptly taken of of two medications without a taper, and put on another the next day to replace these meds. I was on Zoloft 100mg daily x 14 years, and Xanax .25mg daily x eight months. I was changed to Paroxrtine (generic Paxil). Six weeks into this change I suddenley had vision disturbance in a store.

What you need to do is go back to your doctor and ask what your best approach should be. Don't just start taking medication you had from before. There may be another option that your doctor would rather try. Definitely get in to see your doctor, and again, my advice would be not to just start taking medications that you may have taken before...wait until you can get in to see your doctor! m not sure if the medication is directly linked, but in the past year (I have been taking the drug for about 2.5 years) I break into an all over the body sweat very easily, and it has happened even when I'm not exercising. My old doctor told me Fluoxetine has very few reported side effects, and now that I'm in college and that previous doctor retired I'm unable to contact a professional about my questions. Any advice? Hello everyone, I have been suffering from anxiety and depression on and off for a few years now and have just got over my recent bout with the help of a small dose of paroxetine. I have had four months off work and decided to quit my last job and start a more low key job elsewhere. I started my new job 3 weeks ago and have felt fine, until the last week when i feel like my anxiety is returning. I am due on my period, so not sure if this is the cause?

t know if you remember , but Six weeks after being jerked off of the Zoloft that I had been on for 14 years and abruptly switched to Paroxetine the next day without any taper, My vision went haywire and that was the start of this whole mess with me! There are degrees of depression and other Mental Illiness and some require medication, or medication and therapy. However, I must say it is my opinion that if someones is suffering for a lingering deep depression, it is almost essential to get on a medication to help chemicanl inbalance.
