He started me on faverin(fluvoxamine), Lamnet (lamotrigine), Seroxat(paroxetine) Seroxat CR(paroxetine hydrochloride) for avout two to three months but there was no improvement.This time I again went to him he told me that you should not had stopped your medicines.Psychiatry medicines need time and changing if they are prociding no releif.Now he has prescribed Zuloxet(duloxetine hydrochloride), Zeegab(pregabalin) & Zedan(roxithromycin).
So what do you people suggets?
have to say depends upon how long he has been on the paroxetine for and whether there is any interaction with the introduced drug and how long it takes for the new drug to build up to it's therepeutic effect. I can't remember how long for Paroxetine but remember that that was something like a couple of months. Prozac with me took something like 3 months this year although i was on a high dose and had been on it for a number of years where i steadily reduced and had consolidation weeks.
GP put it down (at moment) to stress / anxiety and prescribed trial pack of duloxetine hydrochloride to see if that helps - only taken one last night (so about 14 hrs ago) but no change to symptoms. Could be MS - though no personal or family history of the disease.

* No personal or family history of anything relevant.
* As stated above, full blood work-up & CT all normal.

I have been on Paroxetine for 10 years on and off and whenever I have a question about any medications that I can safely take I call the pharmacist and they are good about answering my guestions.Good luck!!
Has anyone been perscribed Paroxetine for their neuropothy symptoms? I saw my physiatrist last week for the increasing pain I am having related to my syrinx. He advised me to check back in with my NS, and gave me a script for Cymbalta. Apparently, this anti-depressant also works on nerves. I'm definitely not a depressed person - so I had my reservations for Cymbalta, but the pharmacist re-assured me that my dr prescribed it for neuro issues.

But i had side effects so i started taking Bupropion(wellbutrin) So after 1 days dose which was 1 pill twice a day, I had my O.C.D. back about half as bad and my social axiety came back about half as bad. Hello. I've recently been changed from Paroxetine to Zoloft as am looking to try for a baby and this is supposed to be 'safer'. My doctor has changed me over gradually. I took Paroxetine 20mg for 2 weeks plus Sertraline/Zoloft 50mg, then went to Paroxetine 10mg and Sertraline/Zoloft 50mg and 2 days ago I've stopped Paroxetine altogether and am now just on Zoloft 50mg...I'm off work today as I'm so depressed. All I want to do is cry and lay in bed.
I have not been able to locate a drug by that name. Please double check the spelling, provise the generic name, ot describe what it is used for, and perhaps someone will be able to help.

Are these medicines for anxiety safe prescribed by the psychiatrist? Do they help in treating anxiety? how much? The switch is not abrupt, she first reduced the dose of paroxetine and started with a low dose of the new drug for a while.
My mother who is 79 years old, has severe arthritis and has dealt with anxiety for many years has been prescribed for sometime by her doctor to take 20 mg Paroxetine and 2 mg Alprazolam in the morning, 1 mg Alprazolam at lunch and 2 mg Alprazolam before bedtime. Paroxetine is the generic for Paxil and Alprazolam is the generic for Xanax. Is it normal to be taking Paxil and Xanax at the same time?

I really do not want to go back up on my dose of Paxil since it has such severe withdrawal effects if I ever go off it again. Any suggestions WHICH drug out there would be a good one to switch to? I am confused by so many and my doc does not seem to have a preference...?? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
m not sure if the medication is directly linked, but in the past year (I have been taking the drug for about 2.5 years) I break into an all over the body sweat very easily, and it has happened even when I'm not exercising. My old doctor told me Fluoxetine has very few reported side effects, and now that I'm in college and that previous doctor retired I'm unable to contact a professional about my questions.

Hey, I have been taking the generic fluoxetine hydrochloride 10 mgs tablets for about 1.5 years now. My pharmacy recently changed manufacturers and the tablets are now blue... I do NOT tolerate these tablets as well and have also tried the 10mg capsules with the same effects (less effective more side effects- nausea, dizziness, fat face, racing thoughts, decreased libido, nightmares, sleep disturbances, etc.).. I have called several pharmacies but they all have the blue tablets too -_-...
Pristiq is approved for depression, but may also help with panic disorder and anxiety.
I have, in fact, seen restlessness listed as a side effect of paroxetine but just have not personally known anyone before who experienced it from this drug. When you first posted about your insomnia, I just did not think of it in terms of restlessness, and I wish I had, because I would not have been as skeptical about your suspicion of paroxetine.
