Avatar m tn It is normal to get depressed when withdrawing from an amphetamine. That is simply what happens when you withdraw from a stimulant; you get depression. If and when you withdraw from the amphetamine (or anything else), you might have to tolerate some temporary discomfort. With amphetamine withdrawal, the discomfort usually comes in the form of depression and/or fatigue.
Avatar n tn 2 to 1 month for someone not being introduced with a new drug. Could be shorter for your husband.

Avatar m tn thanks for the reply, it has been 10 days now and my social anxiety and o.c.d.
Avatar f tn I want to preface this with; I am not a medical professional. Discuss this with your doctors before you do anything. The way neural pain blockers work is by getting into your system and controlling the pain. They keep the synapses from firing in your cells (or slow them down). This keeps the nerves from sending a strong signal to your brain. You can't take them just when you feel bad, you have to keep it in your system.
1326416 tn?1370927001 In the beginning they help but when the serotonin levels increase, perhaps too much so, you get the symptoms you do. What medications have you tried and at what dosages?
Avatar m tn I have been on Paroxetine for 10 years on and off and whenever I have a question about any medications that I can safely take I call the pharmacist and they are good about answering my guestions.Good luck!!
486038 tn?1300063367 Sunny, are your eyes popping out of your head, or are they just really dilated? I remember Quix talking about the steroid taper - if you don't taper off steroids, you get some harsh reactions, including the bulging eyes.
1553775 tn?1325182402 People can react differently to different types of medication and blood pressure is affected by so many different factors. For me, being on an SSRI like Paxil, it actually lowers my BP in the long run (I guess maybe it helps with my anxiety and thus lowers it). Have you changed your diet? Do you exercise? Ageing can also play a role in it as well.
Avatar m tn Thank you for your very helpful advice.
Avatar f tn What time do you take paroxetine 30mg?
1118189 tn?1259031097 I would call you doc, because I am sure he can slowley taper you off of it, so that you won't have any withdrawels. Congrats on getting better. I can't wait till the day I can say that.
Avatar f tn If it works for you you can only find out by trying it as these meds work differently for different people.
Avatar f tn Ive been switched from Paroxetine to Zoloft as am looking to try for a baby and this is supposed to be 'safer'. My doctor has changed me over gradually. I took Paroxetine 20mg for 2 weeks plus Sertraline/Zoloft 50mg, then went to Paroxetine 10mg and Sertraline/Zoloft 50mg and 5 days ago I've stopped Paroxetine altogether and am now just on Zoloft 50mg...I've went to the doctors yesterday because I feel terrible terrible - headaches, feeling incredibly depressed and crazy!
Avatar f tn I can't really answer your question, but are you able to call a local pharmacy and get advice from them about when to take them?
1035021 tn?1296820707 Two weeks ago I stupidly tried a bottle of DXM (the pure formula with no combinations) and I ended in the hospital with something close to a respiratory depression, tachycardia, high blood pressure and panic, I felt I was going to die. After that my general doctor send me for blood analysis and everything was ok but the blood pressure and she told me that was due to the remainings of the DXM.
Avatar m tn How well did you tolerate stopping the paroxetine? Why did you stop taking it? Did it stop working? Did you taper off slowly before starting the cipralex? I'm asking to see if we can trace what's happening and when it started so you know what's causing what.
12182312 tn?1427683956 My paroxetine is 40mg, and metoprolol is 25mg. Are they safe to take together. Is one an upper, one a downer. I take Paxil in the morning, metoprolol before bed.
Avatar f tn t know the study re breast cancer, but ask your doctor to interpet it for you, because if there is an increased risk, and may not be enough to worry about...
Avatar f tn Your FT4 is pretty high.... Are you feeling any hyper symptoms? Everything else looks pretty good. Still have hair loss?
467977 tn?1262714747 Has the nervousness decreased ANY since you began? If it hasn't, I would talk to my doctor, but Paxil can take a fairly long time to reach it's therapeutic level, so I'd give it a while longer. Don't know about switching to the CR. That's something you need to discuss with your doc. I'd sure wait until you see how you do on the regular stuff first. Hang in there a little bit longer g/f................
Avatar f tn I was on Sertraline for quite a while, and know that it can cause heart problems, and you have to be regularly checked. It did not cause me any problems in that way. I was then put on Effexor because I was told it had less side effects. It does however cause weight gain. It is difficult for you to know what to do. You can try the paroxetine and see how you go. I don't have any other suggestions.
Avatar f tn My Doctor put me on Remeron to help get me off of Paroxetine (Paxi) It really helped as I was having some bad withdrawl symptons from the Paroxetine. The biggest effect it had on me was that it let me sleep through the night instead of waking up in a panic at 3am.
