They are often prescribed together. There is some question whether Buspar works at all, but some believe it does help Paxil work better. As for withdrawal being "easily" remedied, I wonder if that poster has ever been on Paxil or any other ssri? Easy isn't really the description many would use. And I don't think that difference in dosage will affect your withdrawal.
Has anyone else taking Fluoxetine (similar to Prozac) experienced side effects? I have noticed some odd changes in the way my body responds to exercise; specifically, excessive sweating. I'm not sure if the medication is directly linked, but in the past year (I have been taking the drug for about 2.5 years) I break into an all over the body sweat very easily, and it has happened even when I'm not exercising.
lots of psyc drugs cause nasty side effects and nasty withdrawls. Ive been on zoloft for five years and have liked it because for me it had no side effects. these meds react with people differently. I have GAD and am getting off zoloft bc I need something stronger but it helped with low- moderate anxiety and my depression.
Oh, okay, Seroxat is another trade name, like Paxil, for paroxitine. The side effects would be pretty much those listed for paroxetine, which for your convenience I will attach below.
However, I noted in one of your previous posts that your doctor did not want you to take paroxetine any longer because of the possibilty of its deducing the effectiveness of tamoxifen. Are you no longer taking tamoxifen?

I started the end of February with 12.5CR and just increased to 25 CR with no side effects and actually feeling much better these days. Of course being a worry wart I researched Paxil online and found a study that suggested Paxil is the worst SSRI to be on and that it is the only one that may increase my breast cancer risk. Try to remember that most antidepressants have some side effects when we first begin taking them and some of those side effects are not always very pleasant, but as our body gets use to them, the side effects almost always disappear or become tolerable. However, my insurance is not picking up the Cymbalta, so my dr ordered Paroxetine in its place. I do not want to take drugs unless necessary, and I have gotten to a point that my pain affects my work. I definitely do not want to take an anti-depressant unless it really works. Any issues or compliments about this drug for neuro-issues.
I was weaned off by dividing the dose in half and using that for 2 weeks then half of that for 2 weeks and then totally off of it. I hated that medication because of all the side effects you have while you are taking that medicine. It has so many side effects to it, it was unbelieveable. After being off that med slowly I finally adjusted well.
So I have been taking Paroxetine(Paxil) for 4 months now and it changed my life, took away my O.C.D. and my social anxiety. But i had side effects so i started taking Bupropion(wellbutrin) So after 1 days dose which was 1 pill twice a day, I had my O.C.D. back about half as bad and my social axiety came back about half as bad. So i stopped taking the Bupropion and i am still taking the Paroxetine but it's not working as well as it did before.
paxil can be sedating so most people take it at night. the top 3 side effects are headahces, nausea and sexual dysfunction. all of these resolve over time as the body becomes accustomed to the new medication.
just briefly, it is in the class of SSRI (the first line and most popular class) Antidepressants and it will take approximately 6 weeks for the mediation to take effect for most people. some do respond in as little as 2 weeks.
I shall see about the other as reading what people have put about paroxetine has put me off.
I was prescribed Paxil a few years ago and I took the lowest dose for 4 months. It was helpful in treating depression. HOWEVER, it has some very dangerous side-effects, and I had serious withdrawals when I quit. Google it, and you can get a better idea. I tapered and I was barely functioning. There is also a risk of seizures if you get off too quickly. It has also been linked to heart attacks. I currently take Prozac, and it works just as well if not better.
Pristiq is approved for depression, but may also help with panic disorder and anxiety.
I went down from 40 mg to 20 mg/day over the course of a week and a half with no side effects. But this week has been completely different. After I received these new green pills(Zydus Pharm(?)), I decided I would not take them and enough was enough. But it appears it was a big mistake, even after I performed a web-search to see how best to do it (on my own).

ve been suffering from depression and anxiety since childhood. My question is what are the similarities between Paroxetine and Xanax, and what are the differences? Also can anyone tell me if both medications have similar effects on a person; I'm currently on Paxil, but I was wondering if it was anything like Xanax? Thank you for your time.
