Avatar m tn hi im 18 and both myself and my sister have coeliac disease. there is no history of it in my family either. others that i know who also suffer from this can eat bread without having stomach pains etc. but it still damages their digestive system so they are still meant to avoid it. all bread has gluten in, but you can buy gluten free bread...
973741 tn?1342342773 I went to a alternative doctor, who did a bloodtest and it came back that I was Gluten intolerant. I think, by eliminating gluten for a month or two and then re-introducing, you can tell if you have a big reaction or not. Is it's celiac disease I think you will even react to spores of gluten, so I would try that first. Does it really matter if it's coeliac disease or sensitivity?
Avatar f tn Bt on the web is says immunodeficiency disease delays hiv window period... And coeliac disease is one of them... I am wondering what is the maximum window period for exception case u mentioned above to be 100% sure for them...

Avatar n tn Can anyone help? I was recently diagnosed with Mitochondrial Disease (also have hashimoto, coeliac and Reynaud's), and told that I should take creatine monohydrate supplements. Since doing so I have felt that my thyroid has gone more hypo (still within range-supposedly) and am wondering if it may be the creatine... any ideas? I really don't want to put on wieght, given how difficult it is to get/keep off. Thank you!!
1841872 tn?1324666089 A 2007 Dutch study entitled "Coeliac disease in Dutch patients with Hashimoto's thyroiditis and vice versa" published in the World Journal of Gastroenterology, confirmed a connection between Hashimotos Thyroiditis and Coeliac disease. RESULTS: Of 104 patients with Hashimoto's thyroiditis, sixteen (15%) were positive for coeliac serology and five patients with documented villous atrophy were diagnosed with coeliac disease (4.8%; 95% CI 0.7-8.9).
Avatar f tn Some people are more severely affected than others and a strict gluten-free diet will relieve the symptoms By not sticking to the prescribed diet, other illnesses related to Celiac Disease such as chronic active hepatitis, chronic fatigue syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, and food intolerance have increased possibility of occurring. I hope this helps. Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Have you had your cortisol levels checked to rule out addisons disease? Have any tests been carried out to rule out conditions such as coeliac disease? Has your heart been investigated? Are you constantly tachycardic or does it happen randomly or with postural changes?
Avatar f tn Subsequently I came home with many issues, mostly all relating to my gut, several months passed with no improvement so I had many tests done and I was told I had coeliac disease. My issue is because of all the trauma my life has been ruined by a fear of foods, I have had my blood tested against the main allergens (buckwheat and soy) and have had skin ***** testing done for all the elements in the dish I had (including prawn) all of which have come back negative.
9062499 tn?1426957962 My main problem is not absorbing vits and mainly iton meanin i need iron infusions and blood transfuaions.
Avatar m tn My doc immediately prescribed me 20mg of Paroxetine and 10mg of Buspirone. He wanted to up my dosage to 25mg of Paroxetine and 15mg of Buspirone. I didn't want this however because I know there are some withdrawal problems with paxil. I'm just worried about taking these two medications together. Thanks.
Avatar m tn You should look into Wilson's Disease. Some of the early symptoms are similar to coeliac so they may have been attributed to that when it wasn't actually the cause. Also, if she is having trouble absorbing iron then diet may not be enough, if she feels better when taking the supplement it's probably better to keep her on it.
Avatar f tn I have received a letter after undergoing several medical tests. I recently had an endoscopy and had 10 biopsy's as i have ulcers in my mouth and stomach, the doctors was testing me for Chrones and coeliac disease. in the letter it said ' Antral biopsies showed mild acute and chronic inflammation associated with reactive changes in the epithelium. Appearances were compatible with adjacent ulceration.
Avatar f tn The switch is not abrupt, she first reduced the dose of paroxetine and started with a low dose of the new drug for a while.
Avatar f tn Lymphoid follicles /aggregates in gastric biopsies have been traditionally linked to Helicobacter pylori gastritis, and less commonly to other inflammatory and neoplastic conditions. The frequency of such aggregates in normal stomachs has yet to be adequately evaluated.
4852898 tn?1360039862 I am euthyroid with graves disease and had my gallbladder removed one year ago. All blood tests Ive had are clear, CBC, thyroid, liver function, complement and inflammation markers etc. Coeliac panel too. My GP has had me on nexium for 3 weeks as I do get some gerd but it hasn't helped any. Im still fatigued and have some stomach aches and brain fog etc. Any suggestions as to what this could be or what tests could help?
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with coeliac disease in November and have since had 2 further endoscopies, which have showed some intestinal improvement following the gluten-free diet (blood tests have also shown the gluten-free diet is working well). The flexible sigmoidoscopy found some internal hemorrhoids which the doctors conclude to be the cause of bloody stools. A faecal elastase test diagnosed me with pancreatic insufficiency so I take creon enzyme tablets with food.
Avatar m tn Both my dad and sister have coeliac disease, and thyroid problems run in the family. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing my symptoms?
634941 tn?1222839802 I looked up some info about Coeliac disease and realized that my boyfriend had also been diagnosed with failure to thrive as an infant which is rare in cases where there is no child abuse. This leads me to believe that a gluten sensitivity due to coeliac disease is possible. I wish I could get him to go to a doctor but we are not medically insured and cannot aford it at the moment. Would probiotics help with digestion in addition to gluten free foods?
611438 tn?1220669349 I have been to a gastrenologist and still no luck. I thought it might be chrons disease, but I do not know. Then someone mentioned Cauda Equina Syndrome. I have practically all of the symptoms. Can anyone help? Does anyone know about this? Thanks for any help you can give me.
Avatar f tn I have Sjogrens and gut problems, IBS is common with Sjogrens. If you are a coeliac its likely you will have severe smelly diarrhoea and a problem keeping your weight on. If you do cut out wheat, rye and barley totally from your diet it would be safer totalk to a dietition to make sure your diet is balanced withoutthe nutrients that these foods normally supply. There is a blood test which would indicate if you are a coeliac, but you need to be still eating gluten when tested.
Avatar n tn ll see new warnings not to combine tamoxifen with certain SSRIs..paroxetine, fluoxetine, and sertraline. .... Women have a higher risk of breast cancer recurrence if they take tamoxifen along with paroxetine, fluoxetine, or sertraline... but NOT citalopram, escitalopram, or fluvoxamine. .....About 30% of women on tamoxifen also take an SSRI for depression or hot flashes. FDA will add new warnings..
Avatar n tn Just go to your pills and take one, it'll stop. You must wean off your medicine VERY slowly to prevent those electric zaps, so back off on the dose, a small cut every three or four days until you feel normal, then cut again, until you reach zero. But anytime you have ANY problem getting off a drug, get up and go take a pill and you'll make it through any rough patches.
Avatar f tn t recall anything about coeliac disease but looking at it, it does sound very alike to my symptoms and would explain why eating literally anything makes me feel sick and gives me cramps. But then i also think i may have a dairy intolerance as I cant have milk, cheese, yogurts etc. Im not really sure on the other one, it doesn't seem to fit with anything i get. I do get very bloated all the time and bruise easily which fits with coeliac disease too.
