Linezolid is a weak monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI), and should not be used concomitantly with other MAOIs, large amounts of tyramine-rich foods (such as pork, aged cheeses, alcoholic beverages, or smoked and pickled foods), or serotonergic drugs.
First, an acute dose of alcohol (a single drink or several drinks over several hours) may inhibit a drug's metabolism by competing with the drug for the same set of metabolizing enzymes. This interaction prolongs and enhances the drug's availability, potentially increasing the patient's risk of experiencing harmful side effects from the drug.
All drugs have unwanted effects as well as therapeutic ones and mixing drugs will almost always carry a possibility of interaction. However, if this interaction is rare, your prescriber has presumably decided that the benefits of you taking Klonopin outweigh the risks. Yet again, you need to discuss this with your doctor.

This is a simple one, you need to stop the drinking. That's really the BEST option here. IN the VERY least, you're going to need to cut WAY back.

I was given Paroxetine for depression/anxiety over a year ago. I didn't take it however. Tried talk therapy for 6 weeks instead. I feel now, however, that I need to go on meds. I was just wondering if someone can tell me what to expect after taking paroxetine. Does it really work? How long does it take it to work? And are there any noticeable changes at all the first few weeks. Before, I did take one pill when I was given the meds.
I'm currently facing a dilemma; I've been at the emergency room all day due to alcohol-related issues. It was of course mandatory during the physical assessments to give me alcohol-withdrawal medication. Librium to be precise. Now I know mixing benzodiazepines is very dangerous in some cases, but I'm also going through mild withdrawal again...So should I drink? Is it safe? Combining fluoxetine or paroxetine with phenytoin can also lead to increased phenytoin side effects and reduce blood levels of paroxetine.

I was inquiring about drinking alcohol with Celexa. I'm currently on 40 mg of celexa and have been on that for about 5 months now. I'm currently taking it for anxiety, and it has been working quite well. I was taking Zoloft for a couple years and it seemed to wear off. I had no problems with alcohol and Zoloft. I have a few questions regarding Celexa and alcohol consumption.
1. Is it safe to drink alcohol in moderation with Celexa?
So I have been taking Paroxetine(Paxil) for 4 months now and it changed my life, took away my O.C.D. and my social anxiety. But i had side effects so i started taking Bupropion(wellbutrin) So after 1 days dose which was 1 pill twice a day, I had my O.C.D. back about half as bad and my social axiety came back about half as bad. So i stopped taking the Bupropion and i am still taking the Paroxetine but it's not working as well as it did before.
Has anyone been perscribed Paroxetine for their neuropothy symptoms? I saw my physiatrist last week for the increasing pain I am having related to my syrinx. He advised me to check back in with my NS, and gave me a script for Cymbalta. Apparently, this anti-depressant also works on nerves. I'm definitely not a depressed person - so I had my reservations for Cymbalta, but the pharmacist re-assured me that my dr prescribed it for neuro issues.
