Avatar f tn Hello, maybe someone can help me figuring out what might be wrong with my stomach. It all started 1.5 years ago with an uneasy feeling everytime I ate. The even after eating stomach-friendly food it got worse, especially in cold temperatures. When I went to urgent care I got omeprazole for acid int my stomach. This diagnosis was just based on the explanation of my symptoms. I got severe muscle cramps as side effects from that and went back to the urgent care and they gave me zantac instead.
851041 tn?1240695424 The treatment of acidity involves taking a proton pump inhibitor such as omeprazole, lansoprazole or pantoprazole empty stomach in the morning. Along with it you can try over the counter antacids. However I would recommend you see a doctor and take medication under a doctor’s supervision. Chemicals like adrenaline, alcohol, caffeine, cocaine, amphetamines, and other drugs all cause palpitations.
Avatar n tn I am being weaned from pantoprazole with ranitidine. It seems that now that we have reached the pantoprazole every third day stage, I am getting weekly bouts of diarrhea, especially if I drink more than one cup of coffee. Is this a side effect? The diarrhea wakes me at night.
Avatar m tn The drinking is what caused the stomache issues in the first place, and of course is a depressent. In addition, alcohol should not be mixed with the medications he is on. In a small way he may be drinking for physical reasons, such as pain, which is why I think relief of pain will also cause a change in attidue in your father, and lessen the need to drink. From there, you may suggest to your father seeing a dietician and/or physical therapist to talk about health eating habbits and weight loss.
Avatar n tn This is a question for your physician. It can probably be handled with a telephone call.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with pylori. I used to have diarrhea 5-6 times a day if I ate a meal or if I ate a meal late. Is it common for pylori to cause such persistent diarrhea? I did a colonoscopy and an endoscopy. The intestines were fine but I was told I have gastritis. I have also been informed I have GERD and iron deficiency anemia. Starting to think this might be chrons. Been on pantoprazole.

1140169 tn?1370185076 The gastro report says they biopsied a polyp in my stomach which was benign, and they found my stomach acid is too high in my osophogis (sp). I am to continue taking 2 pantoprazole per day and repeat the gastroscopy in a year. I just thought I'd post my results because I had posted that I had these proceedures done.
Avatar f tn Got on pantoprazole for the reflux, it’s been working great but in the last week I’ve had this pins and needles sensation in my legs feel nauseous and I can’t seem to shake that somethings wrong with me. I’m in constant fear. I don’t know if the pantoprazole is giving me the tingling feeling because I’m not on anything else?
1210142 tn?1266077031 ) I started taking 40 mg of Pantoprazole in the morning/before breakfast/ and one Ranitidine at night. Doctor suggested after a month to stop Ranitidine and continue only with Pantoprazole. I really hope this is going to help my undiagnosed chest pains.

Avatar f tn Hi all- first time ever posting in a forum. I'm a 26 year old typically very healthy female. I have recently been diagnosed with IBS but I'm unsure that's what's wrong with me. I have been suffering from diarrhea 12+ times a day for about 7 months now and I have ultimately lost over 15 lbs unintentionally which leaves me underweight. Furthermore, I have severe upper gi pain that is not suppressed by and OC antacids or the prescription PPI I am on.
Avatar f tn I just had a pneumonia almost 2 months ago and i had ulcer last November but already been cured by pantoprazole domperidone. Now i feel like my ulcer reoccured again coz im having heartburn, stomach pain and bloating and nauseous. My question is can i take pantoprazole again even though i just had pneumonia and still having shortness of breath and chest pain? Pls help coz i dont know what really is the cause of my difficulty in breathing is it from having pneumonia or my ulcer.
Avatar n tn Welcome to the gastroenterology community! Tecta (which from my research, I believe is Pantoprazole) is a PPI and Zantac is a H2 blocker, so the answer most likely is that, yes you can take both of these together, but I would still recommend checking this out with your doctor.
Avatar f tn i have been diagnosed with gerd i am taking pantoprazole sandoz 40mg twice daily.
14671759 tn?1435794632 Yeah I agree with trus from my experience. I use to do test with the common causes for them and never could get consistent results. I would drink energy drink on empty stomach to test. Couple times I wouldnt have any, other times I would have many. Alcohol. Exercise. Water. Food. Anti-anxiety meds. I cant take B-Blockers cause I already run a low heart rate. But keep doing it while it last and if it stays then awesome@!
Avatar f tn Welcome to the gastroenterology community! From your profile I see that you are a teenager and I assume you live in the US. I would guess that this is anxiety, which I see that you also have from your profile. Pantoprazole (Protonix) is only by perscription and treats GERD which I don't think you have and Domperidone is not FDA approved in the US so I would not recommend either of these suggestion.
Avatar m tn After about a month and a half I was feeling so good I stopped taking the pantoprazole after consulting with my doctor. A week later I was having bad GERD and went back on it. I still don't know what initially caused the bloating, why it ramped up to GERD so quickly off the medication, and how damaged my LES is now. I've read that the damage can be irreversable and I could have this for the rest of my days.
Avatar f tn Both from losing some of stomache, Esophageal damage and throat damage, from intubing along with lung damage from ARDS. I am now high maintainence. My Part D plan only allows certain generics during donut hole. My husband is also on a transplant list. Medical costs for us both are extensive. We do not qualify for any help since we always worked and saved for retirement. That nest egg has all but gone. Q. I desperately needed another kind of Proton Inhibitor.
746512 tn?1388807580 I agree with Flycaster305. The thing is, you have to ask about it with the healthcare professional. Otherwise, no one in the doctor office will talk about it.
Avatar f tn Exactly seven days later I had a perforated duodenal ulcer and emergency surgery. Afterwards I was put on pantoprazole 40mg, once a day. I was on this for three months then my prescription was over. During my time off of pantoprazole I noticed sharp abdominal pains, nausea, bloating, and a general unwell feeling. I saw a GI who didn’t offer much insight but scheduled a colonoscopy/endoscopy and put me back on pantoprazole 40mg.
Avatar m tn How long will I have to take pantoprazole 40mg/day for my acid reflux? Will I ever be cured from acid reflux hence no more medicine OR this is a life time thing which means continued use of daily medicine?
