10093060 tn?1465822122 I have battled acid reflux for 3 years and recently added sucralfate to the pantoprazole that I take daily. I would like some feedback as to how well this combination has worked for others.
Avatar f tn You should start to feel better within 2 to 3 days. It may take up to 4 weeks for pantoprazole to work properly so you may still have some symptoms during this time.
Avatar n tn Question : Can my mom take 40 mg of pantoprazole instead of 20 mg of teva-rabeprazole because she is out of teva-rabeprazole. It is extremely dangerous to substitute one drug for another. Your mom needs to go back to the doctor who prescribed her the teva-rabeprazole and tell him or her that her prescription is finished. The other drug you're asking if your mother should take i.e. the pantoprazole is also twice the amount of the other.
1140169 tn?1370185076 The gastro report says they biopsied a polyp in my stomach which was benign, and they found my stomach acid is too high in my osophogis (sp). I am to continue taking 2 pantoprazole per day and repeat the gastroscopy in a year. I just thought I'd post my results because I had posted that I had these proceedures done.
1210142 tn?1266077031 I suggested to him to ask his doctor if he could take half of his plavix meds for two weeks JUST TO SEE if that was the cause of his chest pain and the doctor outright refused to do that and bullied him that a clot would form on his stent if he tried to do this.
Avatar f tn Avoid heavy exercises within 4 hours of a heavy meal. Raise the head end of the bed by pillows to 30 degrees. Take a late night snack and eat supper early. Avoid lying down for least 2 hours after main food, dinner or supper. Take care!
Avatar n tn I was taking omepazole occasionally for a few days but noticed on those days my asthma improved because I was producing less mucus. When I mentioned thus to my Dr. He suggested I take omepazole daily which I did for 2 months. Sure enough, cut my asthma med Symbicort to 1 puff once a day from 4 puffs and at half the dose. This is a good thing because long term use does cause bone loss and I m a 65 year old very active female.
Avatar m tn I finally got a doctor to prescribe me the antacid ranitidine, and for the time being the pinching went away but the bloating continued. Then I started having stomach pains and I was put on the antacid pantoprazole and a stool softener for constipation. After about a month and a half I was feeling so good I stopped taking the pantoprazole after consulting with my doctor. A week later I was having bad GERD and went back on it.
Avatar f tn I told my doctor that i really need something that is not over the counter . ask about pantoprazole 20mg .. When i do get heartburn and take one it takes a little while to kick in but then no sign of heartburn for the rest of the day . watch what you eat and one pill may last two days.
Avatar f tn I should also mention that I had a clear colonoscopy which is great. However, the pain never really seemed to be lower- it's between my navel and rib cage often radiating to my back. The diarrhea is sticky and either black or grey and it burns. I tested negative for occult blood. Rarely with the dry heaving fits do I vomit, but when I do it is dark purple or greyish.
Avatar f tn Now I was taking 2x1 40mg Pantoprazole for 14 days, then starting yesterday 1x1 in the morning 40mg for additional 1 month, and at same time I have to take sucralfate just before sleep.
Avatar f tn Welcome to the gastroenterology community! From your profile I see that you are a teenager and I assume you live in the US. I would guess that this is anxiety, which I see that you also have from your profile. Pantoprazole (Protonix) is only by perscription and treats GERD which I don't think you have and Domperidone is not FDA approved in the US so I would not recommend either of these suggestion.
Avatar n tn I'd suggest that most of us who contribute on this chat board have experience with the need of antacids as adults and would be clueless and helpless to have any help to you. I'd suggest you reframe your question to you doctor and also the drug manufacturer, and also ask the question of the pharmacy of the nearest teaching hospital where you live. Best wishes.
Avatar n tn I am being weaned from pantoprazole with ranitidine. It seems that now that we have reached the pantoprazole every third day stage, I am getting weekly bouts of diarrhea, especially if I drink more than one cup of coffee. Is this a side effect? The diarrhea wakes me at night.
Avatar f tn I had no stomach issues prior to 06/2022 when I had a stomach bug. After that I have had constant nausea which I have to take Zofran daily for. I had and EGD last week and it showed Gastritis and Ulcers in my stomach and small bowel. I was put on Pantoprazole but I want to know what's causing the inflammation and ulcers as I had no problems prior. Very frustrated and just want to feel better. Any suggestions?
Avatar n tn I went to the ER two days later for the chest pain and they gave me an oral steroid to take along with 2 weeks worth of famotodine to take. I was on the 20mg once a day even though I was instructed to take it twice a day. I only felt the sharp chest pains at nigh so that's why I took it once a day. Since the start of November I have been experiencing chest pain that feels like someone is sitting on my chest.
Avatar f tn Doctors prescribed to many antibiotics which led to my acid reflux. Got on pantoprazole for the reflux, it’s been working great but in the last week I’ve had this pins and needles sensation in my legs feel nauseous and I can’t seem to shake that somethings wrong with me. I’m in constant fear. I don’t know if the pantoprazole is giving me the tingling feeling because I’m not on anything else?
Avatar n tn Treatment is a combination of drugs to reduce the acid and lifestyle changes. You will need to take a combination of medications (under medical supervision) like a proton pump inhibitor such as omeprazole, lansoprazole or pantoprazole empty stomach in the morning and an antacid gel after meals for complete relief. Possibility of H pylori infection too should be looked into by a carbon urea breath test and a combination antibiotic tried.
Avatar f tn Pantroprazole is convenient and easy to tolerate and at first not only stopped the reflux but also heartburn but that was relatively short lived, I should ask my GP to put me on another drug. Prior to Pantoprazole I was on Tagamet which worked well but because it interacted badly with so many other drugs (like sleeping pills) I had to come off it. I will keep you informed and if you get any relief please let me know.
Avatar n tn I have been taking Pantoprazole for 10 years and now decided to take a probiotic. could this be making me have cramps? I also take amlodipine and propranolol.
