Avatar f tn Can anyone tell me how long it takes for the crtisone drip to start working and easing pain? Also what can one do to get rid of the terrible bloating in the stomach? I look like a big fat pig ready for roasting and is very uncomfortable.
Avatar f tn I didnt know were to ask about the iv drip ,my 3 yr old son was in hospital for rotavirus and was conected to an iv drip than i noticed that the bag of the water of the drip wasnt full im so woried that they may not have used a new one.
8793709 tn?1409594060 With my csection which wasn't scheduled I got the epidural and then they put in the catheter so I didn't even feel it. Then i got an iv drip of pain meds afterwards.
Avatar m tn This has been on-going for a few years. It was determined I have GERD but I have no acid reflux symptoms other than occasional indigestion/gas. I have no heartburn or reflux type symptoms and my EDG showed only 1 small erosion. I've been on PPI's like pantoprazole, omeprazole, lanoprazole, all because of this "lump sensation" that developed years ago.
Avatar n tn If there is no fever, no allergies, no running nose etc, then post nasal drip is ruled out. Then the cause could be gastric reflux or hiatal hernia. Treatment is a combination of drugs to reduce the acid and lifestyle changes. You will need to take a combination of medications (under medical supervision) like a proton pump inhibitor such as omeprazole, lansoprazole or pantoprazole empty stomach in the morning and an antacid gel after meals for complete relief.
Avatar f tn I'm not dehydrated right now but i see it coming as the only thing i can drink is serria mist and i try to drink it often but can't
Avatar m tn I took several antibiotics courses and that got rid of the sinusitis but I am still having postnatal drip with clear mucus. Two months ago while i was taking the last course of antibiotics, I have belching, bloating, indigestion and a bit of difficult swallowing. So, I went to GI hospital and had endoscopy performed and tested for H. pylori. H. pylori clotest came back negative. They look at my esophagus and it was ok.
Avatar n tn Silent reflux will not present as symptoms.....post nasal drip can cause reflux and so can a hiatal hernia..... Watching the diet will help lessen the acid production along with meds...... So I am not sure which dr dx u ....was it a GI dr??....U may want to be checked for a hiatal hernia......and ENT can also check u for post nasal drip or ur PCP can detect that also.
5492463 tn?1368752646 I started contracting on my own at about 2 am got out on the drip at 3 and it really started almost immediately about 15-20 minutes.
Avatar m tn ve been given an IV drip of Benedryl and Decadron for 1/2 hour before the chemo drug is started. I also get a saline IV drip during the chemo procedure. Luckily I haven't had any problems, but that had to have been a very scary situaion for you. I hope things go more smoothly from now on, you're going through enough stress dealing with the cancer, good luck with your treatments......
Avatar f tn She was on Propofol IV drip (sedation) 24/7 while intubated. Her vitals remained stable, with her oxygen stats at 98-100%, a normal BP, and Heart Rate. She was un-intubated on the 4th day in ICU. She woke-up and was 100% responsive to sound and stimuli. She was having conversations, and sitting up in a wheel chair. She was also eating full meals. This lasted for 2 days. After 2 days, her heart rate and BP started to rise, and she became very agitated, and was having a hard time breating.
Avatar f tn I'm wondering if anyone has opted for the pain meds in the iv instead of epidural?
Avatar f tn I think now they keep a port in your spine and they can give you more doses through an IV like thing in your back but I've never had one so I'm not sure. I do know that it usually takes some time to get the anesthesiologist to the room in most cases so I'd say if it starts wearing off around 6/7cm and you're worried then get them in there if they need to even if you're barely in pain if you don't want to feel it at all then I'd say better safe than sorry.
Avatar f tn they dont make you take a med for that lol it goes into a drip bag in an iv that you already have to have so you would never know the difference anyway but thats good :)
Avatar m tn I was given ceftriaxone as an IV drip and sent on my way. Rectal itching got a little better for a few days but has now returned along with slight urethral pain occasionally (although nowhere as bad as the burning sensation previously). It’s been 5 days since my IV drip. Could the one week between antibiotics have given the bacteria a chance to survive? Should I wait longer before going back to the clinic.
Avatar f tn Nurse came to us first, and started the new drip in between she had to go to the patient i described. She changed his drip as well without gloves. Then she came to us and started giving injection through butterfly syringe. She also changed the bottle and inserted a new needle for air into that. My concern is that what if there was some blood stain on her hand and with the same hand she did the entire above process.
Avatar f tn d also have to use pitocin (a synthetic hormone administered with an IV drip) to get contractions happening. Good luck with the birth!
Avatar n tn This is a question for your physician. It can probably be handled with a telephone call.
Avatar f tn Key here is I believe one part was already hooked to the drip machine, I fear the previous patient was hooked to an IV drip, when the patient left they disabled most of it but left one tube in, then the new nurse came in and assumed it was a clean prepped tube. Possible? Also, how long could the virus live in a tube like that?
