Hi, my mom was taking teva-rabeprazole 20mg and now she is out of them can she take pantoprazole 40mg now?

I was on omeprazole 10mg, then pantoprazole 20mg and then rabeprazole 20mg. in total I was on PPIs for 3 months. I did change my diet to be more GERD friendly as advised by my dr, no acidic/spicy/oily food and no coffee/tea/chocolate/mint. I also had an ultrasoundndone on my stomach, liver and digestive tract as well as a full blood test, thyroid was found to be normal.

s stop production of the acids, when u stop taking the meds, it flips the on switch and many times our system makes too much all at once and we feel the same as we did b4....this is y it is very important to slowly step off these meds and know u may have some GERD until ur body adjusts. Taking antibiotics will also affect ur GERD issues and a probiotic is a good idea, ur Dr should be able to guide u as to which one and what dose is best for u.

I was diagnosed with IBS-Constipation Type and given literature on the condition and nothing more. So, I sought a second opinion and this GI also did nothing and told me he didn't think I needed to be scoped - ridiculous in my opinion taking into account my history and active symptoms. I was very displeased and went for a 3rd opinion as I was experiencing severe abdominal pain and spasms, severe constipation, gas and bloating with visible distension and a recent onset of acid reflux.

Along with it you can try over the counter antacids. Avoid heavy meals. Avoid too much of caffeine, tea, fried food and drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic fuzzy ones. Avoid heavy exercises within 4 hours of a heavy meal. Raise the head end of the bed or raise pillows to 30 degrees. Go to bed at least 2 hours after food.

It is a PPI so I would guess it could cause these things. You have to weigh the benefit of the drug against the side effects. PPIs have also been known to intefere with absorbtion of B12 and other vitamins.

Hi All, I am a 30 year old male suffering from obssessive thoughts, I had a stomach ulcers 6 years back and i use Rabeprazole 20 mg daily as a maintenance therapy, My GP suggested escitalopram (Lexapro 10mg) daily, after 2 weeks using the medicine i feel much better and my thoughts have come down, however 2 weeks into the medication i started having severe stomach burning sensation especially in the upper stomach behind the breast bone and the center of the rib cage, i recognise its the same fee

I tested HIV non-reactive (non-reactive means HIV negative right ?) in 10 week. but couldn't stop worry as I tested in 10 week and not after 3 months. Also I'm taking 'Rabeprazole' 20 mg everyday empty stomach before meal. That day also, I took medicine and meal before HIV test.

About a year ago I complained to my Doc that I was getting heartburn, etc, too often again, and he upped my dose to 2 pantoprazole per day, which barely improved things, hense the scope. I've tried Tecta, which didn't seem to work for me, but I've never tried Prilosec nor Protonix (I don't think).

I am still tapering Pantoprazole but acid reflux is there and most likely caused by the multiple medications I am taking. I am taking Pantoprazole and all other medications in the morning/except the statin/, Plavix at noon and Ranitidine at night. Horrible coctail and there is no escape:) Please, let me know how your blood work went.

Got on pantoprazole for the reflux, it’s been working great but in the last week I’ve had this pins and needles sensation in my legs feel nauseous and I can’t seem to shake that somethings wrong with me. I’m in constant fear. I don’t know if the pantoprazole is giving me the tingling feeling because I’m not on anything else?

Hi, I'm a 20 yr old (underweight) chinese female. I've been experiencing acid reflux for almost 3 months now. It sort of happened overnight with incredible stomach churning. At first I thought it was stomach flu until I realised that my throat was feeling weird and I was getting air involuntarily popping at my throat. (I hardly ever burp before this.) The docter prescribed me with Omeprazole for 2 weeks.

What is the best way to take GERD meds and vitamins with them? I'm on three daily doses of pantoprazole 40mg which I take morning/breakfast, supper and bedtime. I'm also taking calcium, vit D and a multivitamin because I'm having a lot of trouble eating because of complications from jaw surgery (and since I can't take any pain meds). The calcium is suppose to be taken three times a day with a meal but not near any other meds.

Then I started having stomach pains and I was put on the antacid pantoprazole and a stool softener for constipation. After about a month and a half I was feeling so good I stopped taking the pantoprazole after consulting with my doctor. A week later I was having bad GERD and went back on it. I still don't know what initially caused the bloating, why it ramped up to GERD so quickly off the medication, and how damaged my LES is now.

Is anyone else suffering the same symptoms as me? What do you do about it? Im very concerned as Im in a lot of pain,it keeps flaring up too. I have pain soon after I eat in a morning. It starts like a pulling in my oesophaghus. It feels like something is stuck there. It hurts a lot and I can't swallow without it hurting. It feels like a pressure there and it also feels inflamed and bloats all the way up from my stomach.

I used to be on Prevacid for excess stomach acid, but stopped using it when I went on the rabeprazole. I have an appt. on Monday with Dr. and hope he can find a solution. In the meantime I am unable to eat and see no relief in site. Any suggestions? I am losing my mind !!

I'd suggest that most of us who contribute on this chat board have experience with the need of antacids as adults and would be clueless and helpless to have any help to you. I'd suggest you reframe your question to you doctor and also the drug manufacturer, and also ask the question of the pharmacy of the nearest teaching hospital where you live. Best wishes.

I am being weaned from pantoprazole with ranitidine. It seems that now that we have reached the pantoprazole every third day stage, I am getting weekly bouts of diarrhea, especially if I drink more than one cup of coffee. Is this a side effect? The diarrhea wakes me at night.
