Pantoprazole and alcohol

Common Questions and Answers about Pantoprazole and alcohol

protonix

Avatar f tn He said because I stopped the medicine so abruptly all the time and my stomach things it has to produce acid because the medicine would lower the acid levels. Again another 3 months of pantoprazole and the usual diet. Now i just got my second egd done and the dr confirmed again that I had a lot of acid in my stomach and that it would not be an ulcer yet but the stomach lining would look very thin. I'm waiting on the results now. I also have gilberts disease (fatty liver) since I was born.
1140169 tn?1370185076 About a year ago I complained to my Doc that I was getting heartburn, etc, too often again, and he upped my dose to 2 pantoprazole per day, which barely improved things, hense the scope. I've tried Tecta, which didn't seem to work for me, but I've never tried Prilosec nor Protonix (I don't think).
851041 tn?1240695424 Chemicals like adrenaline, alcohol, caffeine, cocaine, amphetamines, and other drugs all cause palpitations. Disease (such as hyperthyroidism and pheochromocytoma) or mitral stenosis, panic disorder all cause this. Palpitations may be associated with heart problems, anemias and low blood pressure. If you have cough and are taking medicines that contain asthalin or terbutaline then the palpitations can be a side effect of the drugs. Hope this helps.
1210142 tn?1266077031 I am still tapering Pantoprazole but acid reflux is there and most likely caused by the multiple medications I am taking. I am taking Pantoprazole and all other medications in the morning/except the statin/, Plavix at noon and Ranitidine at night. Horrible coctail and there is no escape:) Please, let me know how your blood work went.
Avatar f tn Got on pantoprazole for the reflux, it’s been working great but in the last week I’ve had this pins and needles sensation in my legs feel nauseous and I can’t seem to shake that somethings wrong with me. I’m in constant fear. I don’t know if the pantoprazole is giving me the tingling feeling because I’m not on anything else?
746512 tn?1388807580 What is the best way to take GERD meds and vitamins with them? I'm on three daily doses of pantoprazole 40mg which I take morning/breakfast, supper and bedtime. I'm also taking calcium, vit D and a multivitamin because I'm having a lot of trouble eating because of complications from jaw surgery (and since I can't take any pain meds). The calcium is suppose to be taken three times a day with a meal but not near any other meds.
14671759 tn?1435794632 I don't want to be negative, but sometimes it's just coincidence. I've tried all possible combinations of food to find a pattern for my PVCs, and I'm 100% sure that digestion has a big influence in my PVCs, and it's disappointing that after some time I found nothing very specific. For some time I thought Pantoprazole (a proton pump inhibitor drug) was responsible for most of my PVCs.
Avatar m tn Then I started having stomach pains and I was put on the antacid pantoprazole and a stool softener for constipation. After about a month and a half I was feeling so good I stopped taking the pantoprazole after consulting with my doctor. A week later I was having bad GERD and went back on it. I still don't know what initially caused the bloating, why it ramped up to GERD so quickly off the medication, and how damaged my LES is now.
Avatar f tn Is anyone else suffering the same symptoms as me? What do you do about it? Im very concerned as Im in a lot of pain,it keeps flaring up too. I have pain soon after I eat in a morning. It starts like a pulling in my oesophaghus. It feels like something is stuck there. It hurts a lot and I can't swallow without it hurting. It feels like a pressure there and it also feels inflamed and bloats all the way up from my stomach.
Avatar n tn very well could be pancreatitis,,,,and since you kept drinking alcohol,,it more like has become chronis, meaning theres damage and it will continue to come and go ,,continueing to damage the organ
Avatar n tn Hi, my mom was taking teva-rabeprazole 20mg and now she is out of them can she take pantoprazole 40mg now?
Avatar n tn I'd suggest that most of us who contribute on this chat board have experience with the need of antacids as adults and would be clueless and helpless to have any help to you. I'd suggest you reframe your question to you doctor and also the drug manufacturer, and also ask the question of the pharmacy of the nearest teaching hospital where you live. Best wishes.
Avatar n tn I am being weaned from pantoprazole with ranitidine. It seems that now that we have reached the pantoprazole every third day stage, I am getting weekly bouts of diarrhea, especially if I drink more than one cup of coffee. Is this a side effect? The diarrhea wakes me at night.
Avatar n tn I have recently read that it does and am curious what others think. I have GERD and Hiatal Hernia and take Pantoprazole, 40 mg twice a day.
Avatar f tn It seemed to help for about a week then stopped helping. I was switched to pantoprazole and that seemed to work for about 3 weeks but now I’m back to feeling bloating and crampy again. I am not sure what to do at this point. I’m worried about it being something more serious like stomach cancer, but also don’t want to be a headcase. Any thoughts?
Avatar m tn You will need to take a combination of medications (under medical supervision) like a proton pump inhibitor (like Nexium you are taking) such as omeprazole, lansoprazole or pantoprazole empty stomach in the morning and an antacid gel after meals for complete relief. Possibility of H pylori infection too should be looked into by a carbon urea breath test and a combination antibiotic tried. Many a times a persisting H pylori infection can be the cause behind acidity not responding to treatment.
Avatar f tn i was feeling ok for a few months then suddenly i developed nausea a week ago and the doctor prescibed tinidizole with acidity tablets. i took for 3 days along with my homeopathy medicine but i still feel heaviness in my head when i lie down so im not able to sleep. kindly advice me what to do.
Avatar f tn I should also mention that I had a clear colonoscopy which is great. However, the pain never really seemed to be lower- it's between my navel and rib cage often radiating to my back. The diarrhea is sticky and either black or grey and it burns. I tested negative for occult blood. Rarely with the dry heaving fits do I vomit, but when I do it is dark purple or greyish.
177337 tn?1310059899 RNRita - I'm worried about going off because it really did help. I used to use Gaviscon but it stopped working. I have been on Protonix for quite a while so maybe I will stop and see if I can have luck with Gaviscon and Tums again. Did the pvc's stop right away as soon as you went off it? WIsconsin2007 - I don't see any literature with palps as a side effect either and my cardio gave them to me and told me it wouldn't bother my heart. But I have to wonder....
Avatar m tn I wouldn't go as far as previous poster that all will be fine once he is 'dried out' but it will give the doctors a better view on what is caused by the drinking and the underlying symptons. If that is not an option, make sure he gets enough Thiamine (Vitamine B1). Alcohol makes it hard for any B vitamines to get absorbed into the system and Thiamine is essential for nerves. These are pills you can get everywhere.
Avatar n tn Welcome to the gastroenterology community! Tecta (which from my research, I believe is Pantoprazole) is a PPI and Zantac is a H2 blocker, so the answer most likely is that, yes you can take both of these together, but I would still recommend checking this out with your doctor.
16424004 tn?1447814388 m starting to notice all or most of my symptoms are anxiety related, mostly from my GERD I have taken omeprazole n the past and had a very bad reaction to it, I have also noticed after I eat I get palpitations and anxiety and heart burn, im glad to say though I think this is all related to stress and anxiety my grandfather passed away in april and him and I were very close and im worried about dying. I have been to the hospital several times and all my ekgs come back ok and so do my labs!
Avatar f tn Welcome to the gastroenterology community! From your profile I see that you are a teenager and I assume you live in the US. I would guess that this is anxiety, which I see that you also have from your profile. Pantoprazole (Protonix) is only by perscription and treats GERD which I don't think you have and Domperidone is not FDA approved in the US so I would not recommend either of these suggestion.
