Avatar f tn on 5/5 she was panting all day, she had abdomen that looked distended and firm. we brought her to the vet. She did x-ray and told us that her abdomen so distended that it twist and need surgery immediately, also found that she had murmur. We brought her to the ER they told us that her abdomen was not twisted she did not need surgery. SHe was stabilized and go home that night. I read the discharge instructions, and found that also had bladder stones and enlarge liver, which nobody told us.
Avatar f tn She was Boarder collie/ Australian Shepard mix. Monday 7-16-2018 at about 3pm she started panting hard and fast. I felt her and her gums were cold, and light pink. About 2 minutes later she was fine again. I called her vet, only to be told her vet was off, and the other two were with customers. And they would call back. I held B and petted her she seemed fine. We went to the living room, where I laid on the floor next to her. She was quite content. At about 5:00 she got up and went to the door.
Avatar f tn Could be lymphoma. WBC high and swollen lymphnodes. Doxy and steroid. Came back 2 weeks. Better on the mend but still needed antibiotics So tried a different one. Even better and were ready to say she is ok. I said still panting can we try one more. Going on day 6. I accidentally only gave half a dose. Panting very bad always. Huge quadruple sized lymphnodes. Says could be babesiosis but convinced lymphoma. Thoughts? Camt get her in to oncologist now and I'm freaking out.

Avatar n tn Is the dog overweight by any chance..heavy panting can be normal, but it can also be symptoms of overweight or possible heart problems..I'd have him checked out by a vet to be sure. We have golden retriever who has been a heavy panter. We've had him on a diet and he's lost 24 lbs and seems to be panting less..
Avatar n tn is the shortness of breath being referred to in the other questions anything like panting? My son is doing this panting thing....yes...like a dog. But they are spaced out, one in and out breath, and rather shallow. Other than that, this seems to be a great help to him. I see a huge difference...it's all good. No appetite problems, no flat personality, he is great.
Avatar f tn My dog was given predisone and the dude effect was severe panting. He could not sleep all night. What can help to stop the panting?
Avatar f tn Two weeks ago after walking, she never stopped panting, and has been panting ever since. The only time she doesnt pant is when she lies with her head flat between her paws. Initially an urinalysis, thyroid profile, lab profile(CBC), lab profile (gen diag) were done. Then chest x-rays were done, and Prednisone, Ciprofloxacin, and Aminophyline perscribed. All these medications were stopped by the vet at intervals as she didnt improve.
1200240 tn?1289339687 But the main subject of yawning, lately I have been yawning alot and my jaw was popping after opening it only about an inch and was really painful. The other day I yawned and it popped way worse then ever, then after that it wasnt as bad for some reason, but now it feels like I cant open my jaw as far as I used to. Just figured I would keep the thread going by sharing my experience....
1218873 tn?1300091216 L'Hermitte's sign? I guess that would be the case with pandiculation, not simple yawning. Pandiculation is a yawn with the "big stretch" - arms extended and back bending. I would also wonder if the pain after yawning might be metabolic. According to evolutionary biology, primates yawn when the CO2 level rises too high or the blood becomes acidic (respiratory or metabolic acidosis.) The yawn caused CO2 to be blown off and the blood pH to rise.
Avatar m tn One of the side effects of this particular antidepressant fluoxetine is excessive yawning. Read the leaflet that comes with the medication and you will read it in the side effects section.
Avatar m tn I would make an appointment with a vet as soon as possible for them to do an x-ray and exam. His discomfort and panting along with him dragging the leg around would warrant a trip to the vet. Let us know what happens.....
Avatar n tn I would err on the side of caution and bring the dog in to be checked. I don't understand what you mean by " not as frequently as he was". Was he breathing more rapidly than normal and then it slowed or is his breathing labored, like he's having trouble? Panting and labored breathing can be signs of pain and he may have developed a fever also. Let the vet check him out and if it's nothing, at least you will have some peace of mind.
Avatar f tn 12 years out of brain injury and I can say at least the last five I've experienced excessive yawning. Maybe longer than just the last five, I dunno, but at this point I can report that when I get tired I yawn uncontrollably.
