504535 tn?1210527032 The bile salts secreted from the gall bladder give the stool its brownish color. Yellow stools generally indicate insufficient bile output like cholecystitis, gall stones, it can also indicate an intestinal infection like giardiasis when the stool passes very quickly through the intestine. Other conditions that can cause yellow stools include hepatitis, pancreatitis or liver cirrhosis. It does not indicate cancer like you rightly mentioned.
Avatar f tn Thank you so much for your reply. I am talking yellow stool, but at times it is almost white. I had pancreatitis prior to having my gallbladder out due to gallstones. Three weeks after my surgery I began to have the upper right quadrant pain. My doctor thinks the surgeon may have left stones in my common bile duct. I fear that I may have Sphincter of Oddi. Again, Thank you for your reply.
Avatar m tn Blood work, urine test, stool sample and abdominal ultrasound...all clear. Are these signs of pancreatic problems?
Avatar f tn You likely have a varied diet and changes in your diet impact your stool. But yellow stool, sometimes called pale stool, can also indicate a number of health problems. 1. Liver and gallbladder disorders Cirrhosis of the liver and hepatitis reduce or eliminate bile salts that help the body digest food and absorb nutrients. Gallstones or sludge in the gallbladder reduce the amount of bile that reaches your intestines. Not only may this cause pain, but it can also turn your stool yellow. 2.
Avatar m tn I would get your Pancreas tested or check to see if your allergic to Gluten Products.
6708370 tn?1471490210 This makes total sense as my husband has bile duct damage/blockages and therefore when he has decreased bile output (which is most of the time), his stool is yellow in color. When it's brownish in color, his bile output has increased. Hepcandme As Mike pointed out, it can also just be a result of what you have eaten in the days before.
Avatar m tn There is a test called an eus that call often detect minimal changes associated with chronic pancreatitis. Chronic pancreatitis can be around for years before the changes will show up on a ct scan. If you get this test I would go a doctor a good dr. Many will miss these small changes and may not diagnose you if you do have the disease.
266195 tn?1215310411 Stool that is pale or grey may be caused by insufficient bile output due to conditions such as cholecystitis, gallstones, biliary dyskinesia, giardia parasitic infection, hepatitis, chronic pancreatitis, or cirrhosis. Bile salts from the liver give stool its brownish color. If there is decreased bile output, stool is much lighter in color. Reflux can be a symptom of some of these as well. Personal experience: I was getting the same thing, heartburn, pale stools, etc.
Avatar f tn Okay, sorry for bumping this up, but I'm reading more on oily farts/ stool and everywhere says pancreatitis or a tumor. I HAVE to know if I'm in desperate need of medical attention. I did call the doctor and said I had orange in stool, and she said it was probably the peach tea I was drinking, but I had forgotten to mention it was oily and came out with gas. I remember this happened before, and I was told fat malabsorption, but it went away after a few days.
Avatar n tn I hope to have got digestive correct, as I assume pancreatitis has to do with that. Vet called today, said Ozzie's level are over 1'000 on lipase count and that makes it sure it is pancreatitis, che chronic version. Having had a look at internet, none of the symptoms agree with what he does. He does not, vomit, reject food, loose stool....
Avatar m tn Hi, I'm also a 22 yrs old patient who is having upper left abodominal pain for like a year, I had CTscan, abdominal ultrasound, Barium enema, Sigmoidoscopy and everything turned out to be normal.
Avatar f tn I have been having bad upper stomach and mid chest pains for about 2 and a half weeks, which is coming from the pancreatitis diagnoses i got a couple or 3 years ago. The last couple of bowel movements I had looked weird. They looked like a whole lot of pieces glued together, really ragged, not smooth as they normally are. Does anybody know if that's a normal part of pancreatits?
1475515 tn?1287189318 Most of this gas comes from sulfites a person consumes, which is a part of all preservatives. Sulfites are present in all juices, molasses, yellow dye in ready made food stuffs, and red wine. Sulfites are present in lesser amounts in mashed potatoes made from dry powder, pickles, tinned shrimp, cookies, crackers, and readymade pie dough. If you have been taking these things in a good amount, then cut down the intake. Also take a lactobacillus preparation and yoghurt with your meals.
Avatar n tn There is a possibility that you have a mild fecal incontinence with some stool coming out without your being aware of it. Wipe with a tissue and see if there is any fecal matter. In which case some pelvic floor exercises may help and you will need to consult a doctor. Other than that it could be due to too much sulfites in diet. Sulfites are present in all juices, molasses, yellow dye in ready made food stuffs, and red wine.
Avatar n tn Did the vet perform a CPLI test to see if your dog had pancreatitis? The causes of vomiting and diarrhea can be many things, such ingestion of a foreign body, ingestion of something toxic, pancreatitis, gastroenteritis, parasites, organic causes and more.

Avatar n tn Stool is yellow when travels throught the intestine fast. Originally, bilirubin that is excreted from the gallbladder into duodenum, is green. When bilirubin within the stool travels through intestine, bacteria change its color first to yellow and then to brown. When stool is traveling fast because of intestinal irritation from any reason, bacteria don't have time to change the color of bilirubin completely, so it remains yellow.
Avatar m tn Just wondering, this morning i had some brown/yellow stool, more yellow, consistancy of toothpaste. I do have acid reflux, i take losec for it. I re-started taking losec yesterday, however lastnight i did have chinese food and took a b100. Would that be what caused the yellow stool.
